What does my channel do?

Seems like a simple question right? Well, it depends how you look at it. The way I choose to interpret that questions is; What does your channel do for the people who watch it? What does the content you create do to move the needle. Not so simple now.

I've never been interested in filming before but everytime I watch one of your videos on this channel I want to try it so bad. Like I starting itching to do it like you said. Also like you said, I let fear control me. I'm afraid to be bad at it even though I know that's ridiculous and even the best start out at the basics. 0:52 Mumbo, your self-control is admirable. Iskall’s episode modded SSP #4 had been out for 5 days at this point yet you still hadn’t seen it. I am always in need of a hit of Iskall’s hilarious energy to conquer the day so I watch it asap. :) I’ve been watching this channel for a couple years now and every time you upload your passion for film-making always comes through and it inspires me in my life so thanks for that. Btw I don’t consider this channel a cat channel especially since it wasn’t even your cat lol But maybe you could visit other Hermits in the UK & Europe and make short films of them and their pet(s). Now that video would be extremely popular, I’m sure.

You, Xisuma, and the other hermits have really encouraged me to make content on what I love, so that's what I've started doing. I only have a few videos so far, and they're probably not very good yet, but it feels really nice to get started and just record for me, and post because it makes me happy ^-^ I am Autistic so it is hard to understand what other people like so I never bothered to post anything even though I have wanted to for years. You guys have given me the encouragement to post anyway, even if no one else likes them. thank you mumbo

As someone whose primary interest was drawing and later animation/animatics, your channel has shown me a lot of the techniques and practical sides of filmmaking. I'm not sure I'll ever shoot a film, but I am absolutely inspired to take the things I learn here to step up my animatics with realistic technique! For me, your channel really is inspiring - and the way you shoot even the more educational vids like a documentary makes them an absolute treat to watch and makes them stand out. And I really appreciate the message you send about failure being okay - if one of my favourite creators can be bad at something when he starts with it, maybe I can too. It's a message that I rarely see in this 'everything's good, only show your best' world of social media. Your channel is doing what it's supposed to. Mumbo I want to thank you for the creative itch you give me with every project. Watching your projects makes me want to go and finish a script or even just go and take photos of places I think cools scenes could be filmed in. For my film class I had an assignment to create a doc theater film where I recreate and interview with someone on a green screen but me performing as the person being interviewed. I used the Silver Surfer as my project because it inspired me so much. I also surf now too go figure! Thanks for everything!

I am entering a stage in life where I am ever hungry for an outlet of creative, constructive criticism to help people on their journey while I'm being inspired to create my own. I love looking at something and critiquing it to make it better, more powerful and impactful. I think it's a great strength I have -- and I realize I've been stifling this talent in the guise of 'conventional work.' I enjoy seeing you with a channel that is whatever you want it to be. Well you certainly succeeded in the first goal of this channel. You where one of the reasons I finally started writing the book I always wanted to write and. I watch your videos because I'm a sucker for lighting and I really like the way you do lighting! I do digital art as a hobby and it makes me want to step up my lighting game even though I dread the process 😅. Oh and sometimes you post a video that may makes me think a lil bit about how I view myself and the things I create (the 'aren't best at everything' and 'what do you want to do with your life' ones for me recently). The organized way you've presented the points in your videos make it easy for my brain to process it.
