Thanks for this reaction, glad to see he enjoyed it. What is interesting, Ozzy and his wife (we know she is a fan at least) was at at least one of the 2 days of Babymetal at Budokan 2014. And Babymetal got to perform at Ozzfest Japan

If he thinks that's big, show him something from the 2016 Tokyo Dome concerts. That was a BIG production. Like and upper and lower stages, and by upper, I mean eye level with the top row of seats like 40 ft up. Not to mention three 100 ft coffin shaped walkways that also has 3 powered mini-stages on them that went back and forth. Good show for the 55,000 fans that showed up those two nights.

Another great suggestion for your friend, now tell him about BM having their own Fox Festival live shows in 2017 🦊🤘🔥

Fun fact, Ozzy actually attended BABYMETAL',s show at Budokan in 2014, I don't remember which night though 😅. 🤘🏻🦊⚡

Nice one Joel. Budokan Red and Black Nights was a big production - and they used that stage for only those two nights. That was March 2014 and they were releasing their first album and announcing their first "world" tour.

Nice reaction. I was hoping for some insight into productions like this. From a roadie aspect. What it takes to put a show like that into action. The rotating stage around her elevated platform that also goes down. Would you use a hydraulic lift or Motorized lifts like the ones used for lifting the trust above the stage? The lighting tricks used to make Su look like she is floating in the air at times. Or even how do you deal with the interference that maybe caused by the rotating stage. As the band members are crossing signals as they rotate. as a close range to the receiver not a big deal but as you get farther away this could be a problem. Would it all be automated, or would you signal stagehands with ClearComm's when to start the lift and the stage rotating? Add in the lighting and getting all times right seems a daunting task. How long would it take to set up? And to think Babymetal does these show for two days and that's it. On to the next stage with a different setup. I wonder how they feel about festival appearances where they're not in control of such things. Do they hate it or do they like it because they don't have to worry about any of that. It is what it is and go. LOL. Love the way they not only mix up their music, the vocal styles, the lyrical style, the dance styles but they also mix up their stage styles. Babymetal this is the way.

Love it when the Kami band is more integrated with the show! When they stay in the back it's hard to think of Babymetal as a "band." Thx, Joel & Ron.

A video of all 3 girls might be better to show a first timer but it's cool that he liked it. And BTW Shirley Manson from Garbage is a legend

Perhaps you could help me. Babymetal is my favorite band, but they are so incredibly diverse. When introducing someone I feel I the need to play the room, or cater to their perceived taste. I recently met someone who likes Sabaton and I enjoy they’re compilation, but I’m not as big a fan personally as others songs. They like rock/metal and History. I informed them that Babymetal was an opening act for Sabaton in Europe if they missed the US tour. They said, “what is a Babymetal?” I’m trying to introduce them to Babymetal and other Japanese groups. What would you suggest. They planned on going to a Sabaton concert in the US, but timing became an issue.

I've seen this performance an insane number of times and I swear it never ceases to amaze me. It showcases perfectly the Kami Band and Su-metal's skills. But perhaps it's not the most representative way to get introduced to BABYMETAL. In my opinion, "Catch me if you can" (also with an intro) or "Megitsune", both from the same show are better options... but well, that depends on the reaction you search. 😁

The best way to introduce Babymetal is with 3 videos tailored for the listener/viewer.

This was an absolutely legendary performance. Rondo Of Nightmare Mischiefs Of Metal Gods is really a good case for any Babymetal skeptic still on the fence. What was even more amazing here. Su-Metal was only 16 in this performance lol. 🙀💕 I think this may have been the Black night show if not mistaken, but it's one of my favorites. Along with "The One" at the Tokyo Dome & Road To Resistance with DragonForce. I was at Babymetal's January 28-29th Tokyo Makuhari Mesde Arena show, which by far was one of the best concerts i have been to in years. Metal Kingdom, Death, Devine Attack-Shingeki & Metalizm where my favorites. Anyway, I do believe Mikio Fujioka was in this Rondo Of Nightmare performance who is no longer with us, unfortunately. He died in a tragic balcony accident back in 2019. Shortly after that, Yui left, and the future of BabyMetal was in doubt. Even Su-Metal left music for a time during their hiatus over the pandemic. Only to come back & give us one of their best albums to date. Along with what I feel is among Su-Metals' strongest vocal performances ever!! As an Ozzy fan myself, here I approve!! 🤘🦊💕

This a great perfromance, especially Su, BUT an intro to Babymetal should include all three. Plus it should be a mind-blower AKA "Headbanger" Legend of 1997!!!

One of the darkest and most serious BM songs: Fighting depression and at the end loosing the fight, becoming a marionette in ones own psycho cage (see Su's marionette posture and the spotlights forming a cage). Probably an allusion to Yui's health problems at the time when this great and touching song was published. But as others already commented: to introduce someone to BM I would choose fun songs like Gimme Chocolate, Head Banger or the like.

I'm going to be shocked if this video isn't blocked. You really have to stop it several times. BM has Sony as the top record label...

Babymetal seems to see Budokan 2014 and Legend 1997 from 2013 as promotional material and they sell it for cheap and don't block it on KZbin. It's the new shows they want you to buy the Blu-ray for top dollar for.

Budokan 14 is usually pretty safe. Also their new songs and music videos seem to be pretty safe from blocking.

What a dumb comment. You mentioned Asterism and Nemophila in your bio. One of Asterism's early cover songs was 'Megitsune'. And Saki from Nemophila is a huge BABYMETAL fan.
