What Does The ABEC Rating Really mean? ABEC Bearings Rating, Everything You Need To Know.

You talked about many things, but you didn't answer what you proposed in video's subject... "What ABEC really means"... And it has no relation at all with how "fast" the bearing is (well, at least not directly and certainly not for skates)... ABEC is just a rating system for how precise the bearing construction is... It has zero impact on skates (or rollerblades or whatever). A simple ABEC1 bearing is "certified" to run at RPM speeds that a human wouldn't be able to reach. The material, the overall manufacturing of the bearings, the lubrication are much more important than the ABEC rating. ABEC rating for skates are pure marketing....

Nah bro. Abecs orginated in machines, people just took them and put it on a wheel in order to have something to roll the skateboard.. then, skateboard companies just did their own version of it changing it a little to function smoothly. Industrial Abecs still good and their numbers are from the machines, it don't mean nothing about how they can perform. Sure, they are a little different from one another but they all just have a really similar roll and resistance.

ABEC has to so with tolerances and precision of the bearings higher abec rating higher speeds it can handle. As far as skating goes it makes 0 difference. Buy a good quality bearing and ignore the rating

Abec ratings tell nothing in terms of torsional load though, only axial. Meaning....around and around and not while you're leaning or steering side to side. Thats a totally different strain on your bearings. In short....abec rating means jack shit. Look into Oust, because they're bearings used for slalom runs.

Amen 🙌 a majority of the bearings you get are all the same shitty mass produced chinese bearings with different shields on. Even the swiss bearings are made in china🤷‍♂️ other than the odd few manufacturers like oust that do make quality ball bearings. Just because a bearing free spins for a long time, it means nothing under load.

My abec7 just runs at 4 ~ 6 secs. My abec 9 runs 1:35+ mins. It's not similar with abec9
