They should have shut the BBC down entirely after Saville.

What disgusted me was the reaction to the Sun's original story a year ago, when the usual suspects- Jon Sopel, Emily Maitlis, John Simpson, et al-blamed the newspaper, dismissing Edwards's questionable behaviour as nothing more than a sort of eccentric character trait. As always with the so-called Liberal Left, their generosity of spirit only ever extends to those that share their views. I don't know Edwards's politics, but as an archetypal BBC "Lifer", I can easily guess them-anti-Brexit, anti-Tory, pro-mass immigration, pro-Net Zero, etc, etc. One can easily imagine their reactions to the original story if a prominent right-of-centre public figure- Nigel Farage, let's say, or a GB News presenter-had been accused of similar behaviour. Now that Edwards has been exposed as the vile man that he is, haven't the cheerleaders gone so very quiet all of a sudden? Funny that

What does the Huw Edwards case mean for the BBC? Business as usual and pay rises all round!

I thought it was possession of the images not the creation of them?

It is. He received images. Looked and deleted. Didn't pass on or share. What he didn't do was inform the police about the images.
