#692. Assigned to me in 01 when the local hare scramble series moved to electronic scoring with barcodes. Pretty sure they handed them out in order of signing up. Now it's tattooed on my throttle arm

My best friend Kyle Fleming who was one of the factory R&D Suzuki riders killed at Ponca City in 1982 was #54. After his death his dad started taking me racing. After my first pro season I earned national #54. After my second pro year and the points added up, I earned #54 again. What are the chances I earn Kyle’s number 2 years in a row? One point either way and I’m 53 or 55. During my pro short course truck racing career, I branded my truck and team around the 54 in honor of Kyle. When I look back over my life and racing careers, just the number that popped up randomly when I least expected. I think I explained it a little bit in this video I did as a tribute to the three Suzuki riders killed that year. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6bCiJmap5Z8j5osi=GQx_D-18ZqmedwPm
