Love your site! So helpful. After your reviews, I think the Outsize Plus would meet my needs; however, how difficult is it to hold down the switch in order for it to work? I'm active, but wonder if that feature would be troublesome?

I have the V8 and I absolutely love it. It’s light and the running time on one charge is sufficient. I’m 76 and I run out of energy before my Dyson does. I would assume the larger ones are heavier, so I’m very satisfied with mine and I see no trouble in holding down the handle while vacuuming. I haven’t used my corded vac in years and the central vac the builder installed I haven’t used in 10 years because I was always tripping over that darn cumbersome hose - it was dangerous😀
@J.Wick. Жыл бұрын
Had the V8 for 3yrs now. Not a single issue. The V8 is plenty for most folks. ProTip - Amazon has Dyson battery adapters for several LiIon tool line batteries. Dewalt20, M18, Kobalt24, etc.

I have a Dyson corded and a Dyson cordless and love both. We have 3 cats, one who sheds a small kitten worth of fur seasonally, and the cordless is handy to keep his favorite spots clean, plus general clean up in the kitchen and entry. The big Dyson is necessary for keeping the mostly carpeted house clean. I had to replace my cordless Dyson a few years ago due to a bad connection somewhere.

I started with a Dyson V11 and everyone around me had a v8, telling me the vacuum was a disappointment. I got the Dyson V11 as a Christmas gift and my first thought was.. oh.. it's going to be shitty. But holyshit. The Dyson V11 is the real deal. I would recommend the V11 if you are going to spent much on a vacuum cleaner anyway.

I just returned my V11 animal+ that I got from costco in early 2020 (its now feb 2023) because of the 2 major defects it had completely killing it, luckily with costco's awesome returns we got $484 back of the $550 or so we spent. What first went wrong was the battery coming loose (we never tried taking it off ever) and making the machine cut in and out, then around 2022 the trigger broke, I tried to fix it but that went absolutely awful as the screws were coming out (and still going in, mind you we never touched them also) at 45° angles. I did some research that said the V10 and V11 were some very poorly built vacuums but hopefully this new V15 platform has no other ways of being defective (the trigger has been redesigned and so has the battery.)

Would you please do a video on how to clean a Dyson vac? I've got a V11 Animal. While I have done the regular dust cup emptying and filter cleaning, I'm not sure how best to clean the clear plastic brush head cover or the plastic dust cup cover. Also, got any suggestions on how best to separate the parts from the long main stick tube thing? I always have difficulty trying to pull it apart no matter how much I push in the buttons that a there for that purpose. It's stuck and takes a lot of time and effort. I've actually gotten my finger pinched.

We use a Dyson V11, and I'm mostly happy with it. I like the laser on the V15 detect and I want some of the other features, but I haven't spent the money yet. Hey Dyson... make a V16 detect that has the power-on button instead of a trigger to pull, and at that point I will upgrade from the V11 (even though the V11 still works fine). The "detect" is their top of the line and it's expensive, but if I can get a power-on button plus the laser plus the anti-tangling features... yeah, I'd upgrade to that immediately.

We have owned and still own several Dyson products. I can’t explain the level of frustration we are experience with Dyson Support in resolving a problem with our V12. In less than a year the Motorbar cleaner head is inoperable and doesn’t work. So far we have been sent two replacement cleaner heads. Both were the wrong heads. It’s has been such a time consuming experience, with any resolution in sight. We are looking into unloading and selling all of our Dyson purchases and will tell everyone we know to reconsider their own purchases.

Coming from a heavyweight Hoover upright that is on its last legs, I'm really looking forward to switching to a cordless.The only thing that gives me pause about the Dysons is that they all are bagless. I have two Dyson vacuums and have had others. One is a ball floor model. It picks up so much dust through broadloom. I use the V8 for hardwood, tile, and oriental rugs. Both are fantastic. It looks like the lasers are worth exploring. Dyson vacuums never set off my air purifiers; that's how good the filters are. However, for a quick job I use the Fuller carpet sweeper and the air purifier fan kicks into a higher gear briefly to clean the air of dust.

We live in a 3100 sq.ft home and use Miele's top line for main vacuum. We avoid our built-in vac as the hose is huge and too cumbersome We're looking for something that helps with the constant, daily quick cleanups; couch crumbs, kitty litter and other bits between the kitchen mud room - but nothing too extensive. It sounds like we'd need to go with the larger model just to get the better suction. It's strange they don't have demand for the better/higher suction but in the v8 form factor (?)

My wife insisted on having a Dyson cordless vacuum like her sister's. However, her sister bought her Dyson years ago. The current reviews for Dyson cordless vacs are very disappointing. We ended up buying a Roomba and couldn't be happier. Mainly because we don't have to vacuum the floor anymore. Rufus the robot cleans the floor. All we have to do is hit the corners with the $60 vacuum.

One of my client has a dyson v8. I was so impressed with it I want one too but I don’t have the big budget for it. So I went with the Shark ultralight Stratos. Mainly for it’s no hair wrap advertisement. Greatly disappointed when it come to hair on the roller and the air. Cause I’m quite short, the air hit my face quite often. However the corded shark is lighter than the dyson v8.

I loved my Dyson cordless vacuum. I used it all the time. However the company is awful to deal with. When the battery needed replacing I kept being told the battery replacements were on back order. I was put on an email list to let me know when they were back in stock. I would get an email they were back in stock at 3a.m....when I clicked the link to buy it when I was awake at 6a.m . It would be sold out. This happened numerous times. I kept calling. Their solution was to put me on an email list again. After numerous times trying to order...I finally bought a knock off battery which I use now and it works great. When I needed a second vacuum for another area of my house I decided NOT to get a dyson. I need better customer service than they offer. I bought a hoover and have not had a problem.
@romualdramos1907 Жыл бұрын
My advice to everybody about to make the battery last longer: NEVER charge the battery till 100%. Watch 3 charging indicator lights what mean it 75% full and stop charging. Up to 90% full is OK, but you cannot see when it's 90%. And NEVER discharge the battery to 0%. Try to keep to 15-20% and charge again. That's when the battery will not need to be replaced much longer. The manufacturers will not tell consumers about that fact because they want to make more money on you. And it's not only about Dyson battery, it's about any rechargeable battery - in laptop, cell phone.... etc, all batteries.........
@jillwales6959 Жыл бұрын
@@romualdramos1907 My problem was not about a battery charge, but rather their poor customer service. My battery actually lasted a long time, but when it needed replacing I got the run around. I'm not sure how they think people can get by without a vacuum. It was months of me calling and emailing and still nothing. So I had to buy another vacuum. Then I got the knock off battery for my Dyson. I have had a knock off battery for over a year now and it works great.

We weren't sure about the V12 or V15. We are a large house with all hardwood floors with a few placed carpets. We have been using an Electrolux Epic 8000 canister vacuum for almost 20 years, and it still works great, but my wife used the V8 at someone's house and loves it. One critique I have would be to offer some idea of the longevity of these cordless vacs. We have owned multiple corded dysons. One has lasted over 15 years. If I'm shelling out $$$ I want to know it will last for years to come.

I know it can seem insane to spend this much money on a vacuum cleaner, but honestly it's worth it because I would never clean anywhere close to as much with a poorly designed vacuum or cord system. The ease of use (great tools, wall charger, easy maintenance, hands-free cleaning) makes me use it almost on a daily basis. So yes, it's worth the money because it's being used probably 50x as much as cheap products.

Why not recommend the V10 instead of the V8 as the entry level? The suction power and battery life are superior to the V8, and actually rival the V12, and it has launched quite a few years ago to have a significant price drop as well.

I bought a Dyson v11 from Costco on 2/2020; loved it until it was getting finicky..floor roller stopped spinning, cleaned everything out, took it apart, had 2 vacuum repair stores look at..they said the design of the canister and how the connectivity between the attachments , the stick, and the main unit has major engineering issues.. I’m on the fence of the plain cost of $750 for a vacuum that may stop working right after the warranty expires.. Also their customer service for returning your calls is not good either. It’s tempting to give the Dyson another try, but $750 for maybe 2 years of service is something I’m very Leary of.

If you buy a Dyson V6, the purple filter that slides into the front of the vacuum needs to be cleaned super frequently. The filter won't look dirty, but the vacuum will run/stop/run/stop until you rinse the filter and let it air dry for hours. The filter also only lasted about three years before rinsing wasn't enough and it needed to be replaced. Granted it's only $20, but I've never had to replace a vacuum part that quickly before.

Do you know what voltage does the charger use? I would like to know if I can still use it if I move abroad, unfortunately I can’t find this information anywhere in the dyson webpage and nobody seems to be able to help… thanks!!

Really enjoyed this video and the detail concerning the differences. I recently purchased the Dyson Animal Ball 3 Complete and the Dyson Outsize Absolute cordless stick. Probably overkill to get the Animal since the Outsize Absolute is promoted as an upright replacement but I just wanted the best and I'm a a little bit of a nut. I find myself LOVING the laser feature of the soft brush head on the Outsize. Plus I'm literally swimming in attachments since both vacuums included all of the accessories that Dyson offers. I'm literally thinking of asking my bi-weekly maid service to keep cleaning as usual but leave all the vacuuming to me.

Would you be willing to do a review on the Ryobi ONE+ HP 18V Brushless Cordless Pet Stick Vac with Dual-Roller Bar stick vac? It looks like a neat vac for much less than the dysons. It also has the fluffy head built into the vacuum head so you don’t have to change heads from carpets to floors.

I like you and your channel, but I prefer a vacuum with the bulk of the weight on the floor. (Of course, a central vacuum system built into the walls is my favorite.)

Hello! I own a Dyson V11 Absolute+. I was wondering if the antitangle head from the V15 would fit mine, or if there is something similar? Have a lot of issues with tangling on my "standard vacuum head" component. Thanks!

I prefer a sled vacuum cleaner with power cord and bag. Not fancy but best performance and good for many years. Bag replacement is fast and clean without having to clean the whole system. No need to manage battery replacement and charging stations if you have a power outlet in every room.

What's with the Dyson fetish? There are better vacuums out there like Miele and Sebo.
@valeriew59342 жыл бұрын
I agree about Miele, never heard of Sebo, my most favorite is a Rainbow, best vacuum ever, I’ve never liked anything Dyson, way overpriced, Rainbow is expensive but for what all it does, its well worth it, I’ve had my Rainbow since 1998, that Dyson is so bad for people who have carpal tunnel, arthritis, the handle kills my hand

Whenever you see a channel push a brand, simply open up the description box and look at the hashtags. You'll most likely find something like this: #Sponsored

@@AzureSteel She did say at the beginning of the video that Dyson sent her all the vacuums to try and thanked them. No need to read anything.

I’ve used both Dyson & Rainbow. Prefer Dyson but the Rainbow was a mid 80’s machine. Have used Dyson standard upright vacs since soon after they hit market. You get what you pay for and if you have a lot of carpet and fur/hair to deal with some of the brands like Shark that cost less just don’t last long. Will have to check the 2 brands mentioned here as I’ve not heard of

How do you charge the batteries back up
@iamshe32752 жыл бұрын
I've owned a Dyson. I loved the suction and that it is cordless. What I don't understand is why they put that cheap plastic pull-down lever to empty the canisters. It broke twice. I pulled down the lever and the whole damn canister fell into the trash can. They have never addressed this issue. For that reason, I will not purchase another one. Lastly the battery died on my Dyson in 6 months fortunately for me it was still under warranty. For reference-I have the V11, I owned it for 8 months before the canister lever broke. I used this Dyson once daily to clean my entire first floor(1000sq feet combination of hard wood, porcelain tile, and area rugs). I have three cats so there is always cat hair.

Why didn't you feature the new Dyson Ball Animal 3? Plenty of people still want a corded upright, and Dysons new upright and really good and a very good improvement over the Animal 2
