I'm back at this locker, ready to do more digging and exploring. So far we've found some great stuff in here, and I'm happy with the $1,300 I invested to get it. It appears to have been the inventory of an eBay store, but there are some other goodies here too, and a few vintage treasures which keep things exciting. Let's see what else remains to be discovered!

The brio (think it's a Swedish toy company)train stuff might be worth putting on ebay, I bought loads when my son was younger and 2nd hand it was almost as much as brand new, the older pieces are compatible with the newer ones too. Such a fun locker to go through

You should not have thrown away the material from ARS he probably did have the books looked at - who signed the drawings in those book? Steinbeck was known to do this- you could have books worth 2K. Jack do your homework on those books.

I said something similar on another video, saying we can't be experts in everything but taking a little extra time to research things could really payoff, and he pretty much called me a know-it-all. I was just trying to help him make more money for him & his family.

@@Jenna.A. I may get blocked but I have a hard time believing that he doesn't know the true value of what he is finding. it's what he has done since childhood. I think he plays with us. I read a lot about antiques and collectables, I come from a family of collectors from coins to art. you learn to pickup books and check value of things. Sad though, e-bay has ruined collecting for some and made predators out of others. and as my dad would say your only going to get what people are willing pay, and gems when fools throw things away. I found a book for a quarter read it, really a great story. looked up the author (at the library) book was worth 150.00. I was 12 now in my 60s still have the book and the price well has gone way up. got hooked on looking things up and haven't stopped.

Those Brio toys you found at the end are really, really, expensive... My son is 26 and the only toys we saved from his childhood are the Brio wooden train set and his Legos (about 100k pieces). You definitely got your money back on this unit. Very nice haul.. :)

Curious to know if the drawings in the books were done by Steinbeck? I couldn't see the signature. If so , they most def are worth something. You might be able to find the actual show he was at on Antique Roadshow's website. I think you have found some great finds!

I get Maker's Mark stuff at Christmas every year - meant for use in gifting bottles of same. I don't drink but got on a mailing list 20 years ago. Some of it's pretty awesome. 27:48 That fabric and clothes pins were used to photograph clothing when they sold it.

FYI -The two Steinbeck books were from the Personal Library of Betty Flack Robertson of Sausalito, California (the letter) and “OF MICE AND MEN” contains a Personal Note fom the John Steinbeck (in French) and pencil sketch Image that is tapped in the book. In the Grapes of Wrath it is signed by Steinbeck to, and on, Flack's illustrated "MINE Betty Flack" library marker that she placed in all the books in her library. I hope you didn’t throw away the provenance. ✌️

Jack, I’ve got an idea for ya. As you go a sorting (which is soooo cathartic to watch) put big colorful dots on the boxes/ bags on the lots so you can easily see what your are thinking of as end result, e.g., big huge purple dot for vintage market, big huge yellow dot for research for eBay, fbo etc, etc,,,,

the hand drawn picture in the book is by Steinbeck it was on the auction site, as one that was sold at the auction. I hope you kept the roadshow stuff to go with it as it all adds to the story and makes it worth so much more.

I was looking for this comment before i said anything, thank-you for letting him know. As a mommy who still hoists laundry outside on our 2nd story porch area with pole space, and pinch hangers, it really does save the color of clothing to put it inside out before hoisting to dry so it won't fade so fast from sun rays bleaching it.😁🥰‼️💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🇺🇸🇯🇵🌏🗻🗾

What fun to go through the locker here. I have been to Antiques Roadshow twice. Once in Portland Oregon, second in Eugene, Oregon. It's an interesting time. Love those Brio trains. You have a granddaughter now. She might like them. I love them as a kid. There was a store in Los Gatos that used to have a big set for kids to play on when I was a kid....many moons ago (ha ha). That Panasonic electronic pencil sharpener sells for $100 on eBay & you took it to the flea market. This is what I meant by my other comment on your other video about no one can be an expert in everything but taking a moment to research sometimes can make you & your family a lot more money.

LOL, no offense Jenna but it's easy to watch on video and think you have a better plan, but the reality of moving this much merchandise in a timely manner is a different story. We don't get maximum dollars, some items slip through too cheap, but overall I wouldn't change my strategy one bit as it is working for me. If others want to look up every single item, times thousands of items, and spend literally months piecing off a 10x20 this size, then that's cool for them, but not for me no thanks.

I'm talking about the oddball items, or new vintage items like the pencil sharpener. Or when you find a locker with mass quantities of let's say golf head covers 😉 do an eBay search real quick & go to sold & sort high to low to see the name brands that are selling for $$ so those don't go to the flea market. But I'm happy it's working for you.

Put all grips in a lot for auction, and I will bid hard as a home regripper. If you want to piece them out in sets, by size, and separate the putter grips, you can make more on eBay, but you will need to learn more about golf to know how to list them properly. Don't want to accidentally sell a midsize grip as a standard and have some golfer give you bad seller reviews. Also, iron covers are for "Phesants" in case there are any "Dude Where's My Par" FB members watching!

I know all this happened 4 1/2 months ago, but the casual tossing aside of the Steinbeck info just broke my heart. Those books and papers were each in sealed ziplocs for a non-trivial reason and the provenance was so important. I wonder what ever happened with those books in the end?

obviously they kept all of those items together in a box because the items were related somehow Perhaps in the large book where he kept the envelope in also contained a letter from the author with an autographed crude self portrait that was taped into the book? could have searched it a bit better I would have looked into those papers a little more careful before throwing things away, could have been worth thousands if they proved a connection & proof of ownership

Most historic books especially of first edition with any famous people of real signatures even any letters, documents, old newspapers and drawings anything's collectables could be worth hundreds to thousands of dollars. Just saying everyone had their stories and memories just kind of sad what's happenings to them! !!?? You can get a lot from the train tracks and diecast trains as a set/lot on eBay or Auction them. Some of them look like "Thomas the Train".. Check the prices on Ebay to see what they are going for now.

That is Thomas the Tank engine Brio, it's Sweedish, and highly valuable depending on the period it was made, if you have all the pieces for the Thomas the tank engine stuff that alone is worth money depending on the age.
