328 engine with m50 manifold and throttle body from a 5 series a remap and you will have about 240hp same as my track car which is plenty to get the rear spinning and drifting

the 323 is 170hp the 325 is 180hp and 328 is 190hp thats the only difference the inlets are restricted on the 323 and 325

In my opinion you should buy a M50b30 its really cheap , in Portugal you can get it for around 1000€ and it has 231hp, in England it should be cheaper , greetings from Portugal 😁

2.5 it's the easier and best engine to turbo but mapped with injectors etc the 2.5 will be plenty!

hi in my opinion you can do 2 setup setup 1 m54b30 engine with m50b25 manifold with tune and headers, zf gearbox and 3.45 diff lsd you can easily get 270hp. setup 2 m60b44 (m62b44 block and m60b40 heads ) with 5 speed 420g gearbox with rune you will get 340hp and 500nm. notice that you will need to make some fabrication. i have e36 coupe with m60b44 and euns perfect

Keep the standard st seats get them wrapped in leather! they are great seats! 2.5 is plenty also. invest little in the BMW the ST is the better car.

Can't beat a dirty old ls v8 might be harder to get in the UK for cheap but for drifting you will have loads of low down torque on tap and super easy and cheap to get good power.

M52 2.8 and an M50 2.5 manifold will go pretty well, that’s what my Coupe is, won’t regret it mate, straight swap with the 1.6 too. Also don’t bother wasting time on the exhaust as you’re gonna need a new one with the 6 pot

I do agree there, i was running 420whp until my piston ring took a shit on me so might aswel rebuild with proper forged rods instead of the forged rods that bend at 600whp and forged pistons then while its down single it aswel and push between 700 and 900whp

A well maintained N54 will keep you happy, my failure was my own fault (fucking around with the tune and accidentally put the wrong number and didn't notice). HPFP and LPFP fail so just make sure they are already done and also the water pump. Make sure it has no wastegate rattle and you will be sweet. there are 200k mile examples that are still running strong
