You made a good point about personality types. I’m more introverted, but I enjoy having opportunities to get out when I’m feeling more extroverted. It’s a city that allows for privacy or seclusion and socialization. I had the same frustration about the beach when I was there. I lived about 20 minutes from the beach in Charleston, so I really missed that when I was in Raleigh. I wish that I stuck it out longer in Raleigh though.

This video was helpful l, I myself am from CT. By the way, Wilmington has a few beaches 1 hour 40 minutes away from Raleigh. Wrightsville Beach is amazing, I have to visit Carolina Beach next summer or so.

Yeah I'm from up North too and North Carolina not making a way to get to the beach or to the mountains is a lost opportunity for the state. Sold out to the automobile industry like they all did.

I want to move out of Nebraska. 1. its cold, I never wanted to stay here after I came for college. Single mom so not planning on purchasing a home.2. But I just got of indeed a jobs so far look decent. 3. I want my daughter's to be around a more diverse culture. 4. Sport events, city life 5. water/ mountains close by 2 hours is close when you live in Nebraska! 6. cost of living?? 7. good schools?? 8. apartments in good areas ??

I’m from MD but have visited all over NC. I’ve been all over CT too. Visiting and living somewhere are totally different too. Does it ever really snow in Raleigh? Can people get by with wearing shorts all year long down there, especially during the winter time? Is it generally easy just to get a full-time job down there just to get going and to pay the bills? It does snow but maybe once or twice a year. In regards to shorts all year round will depend on you and you're preference but I will not be wearing shorts when the temperature is 30 degrees during the winter. As far as jobs, that will depend on industry; some of the top industries at the moment are tech, medical or government.

As a Raleigh native I can tell you at most we only get 1-2 inches of snow and that last a day or two during the winter and then we don't get any snow for the rest of winter. Some winters we get lucky like this year and don't get any snow.

Nice vid as a native of NC and long time Raleigh resident. However, you left out a couple of important things. 1. No beaches. We have plenty of lakes. Plenty that have beaches, boating, fishing, campgrounds, etc. Not the ocean for sure but a nice time. 2. Pro sports. You stayed in the hoops lane. We have pro hockey (Stanely Cup winner Carolina Hurricanes), pro women's soccer (NC Courage), and 2 pro baseball teams in the area (Durham Bulls and Mudcats). Charlotte also has pro men's soccer and pro football. More to come. I'll say yes it does get boring here but Raleigh's located right off I 95 and I 85 for road trips to large cities (or ride train). Also can fly out of RDU.

DON'T MOVE TO RALEIGH. Don't move to NC at all. It's starting to get expensive and it has all of the problems of having a ton of people, but nowhere near enough of the infrastructure to support it. Try SC. There are a lot of nice spots there that are CHEAP.

@LivinginRaleigh Number 1. The traffic. Even though 540 has been expanded, it's nowhere near enough. It shouldn't take an hour to get through Raliegh. Number 2. NC ss a whole is an agriculture state, so anytime you have a new influx of people moving here, you have a spike in pest control issues. Beware all, we got humongous roaches out here, and there is nothing anyone can do about them, and it's only going to get worse. Coyotes, too, and they will snatch a pet or small child out of a suburb. Number 3. NC was a good place to live because it was relatively cheap to do so, but with more and more people living here, more and more of the housing opportunities are being diminished for the next generation to have homes. And they can't move to another decent area because the wages have not increased here enough for them to go. This basically drives the price up. SC has all the space to handle an influx of people without pinching the progress of infrastructure like we have in NC, especially in the Triangle.

@LivinginRaleigh Most of the major areas outside of South Charleston and Greenville. Because there are significantly less people there, all of those issues are lessened. It should be more spread out. People from SC are just trying to keep people from finding out.
