What Exactly is a 'Blem'? Palmetto State Armory (PSA) PA10 Gen 2 Blem Lower

Just a tip. You should never dry fire the rifle with the upper off. When the upper is off ease the hammer down. Otherwise you risk damaging the lower.

Palmetto State is a solid manufactur I recently tested the 16" Freedom barrel and 15" palmetto key mod set up. I topped it off with a Primary Arms gen 2 1-6 ACSS. Im getting consistent 1 MOA groups at 100yds with eagle xm193. I have a lower kit from them too that was great. The "mil spec" trigger was smooth. I replaced the springs with a joe bob set up, and a trigger set screw, with a little natural polishing it is a great trigger. It has near zero take up and the break is super clean. I'm not sure why people would pay any more than a palmetto sale or blem. It just works and has attention to detail beyond my DPMS and other big brands.

OMG! my heart just hit the floor when you pulled that trigger without catching the hammer yourself. DONT EVER DO THAT!
@wethepeople4206 жыл бұрын
UnknownUser 8888 you are probably the same type of person that would say “dont use the slide Release” using the slide release is less violent than the action moving during normal firing.

Sean mason you obviously don't have any experience with the A.R.
@StephenB26 жыл бұрын
Sean mason anyone with any real experience with an AR knows you can't drop the hammer on an AR without catching it either by the bolt carrier group or your finger. You can literally look on the internet and see all the idiots that have done that and it cracks their receiver. One time dropping it can crack your f***** receiver. I had a buddy with a registered SBR lower who accidentally dropped the hammer because his safety was it on when it wasn't off the upper and he cracked his receiver. It only took one time. The only reason this guy is lucky is because it's an AR-10. But it's still a really bad idea. You're taking a hardened steel hammer and slamming it against an aluminum frame. It's not hard to figure out who's going to win that battle.
@StephenB26 жыл бұрын
akshooter271 it's not my f****** gun to tear up go ahead and risk f****** up your lower receiver.
@StephenB26 жыл бұрын
akshooter271 I know one thing is certain my lower receiver isn't going to get cracked by my hammer if I don't ever drop it but you doing it hundreds of times is rolling the dice.

Its not a blem. Im a cnc machinist and ive worked at sig sauer machining lowers. Its the endmill causing the aluminum to flex when its machining the magazine pocket. Your rpm's are going way to fast, which causes the material to flex instead of cut. Its not called a blem its called a step. But Great video bro !
@clloydhi6 жыл бұрын
Dry firing the lower without the upper can damage the bolt catch. And that isn't a billet lower.

I purchased a PSA M4, it was one of the nicer models with free float hand guard and slanted weight relieved rails up top, m-lok all around. It was NOT a BLEM item, but the reciever extension (or buffer tube) had scratches all over the rear of it. Not a huge deal, but I paid $800 for a rifle, if it gets scratched, I wanna be the asshole who did it. I emailed them with a picture, and without even having to speak to anyone, 5 days later, they had a replacement part out to me in the mail.... Absolute 5 star customer service. I couldn't believe it!! They earned a lifetime customer that day. How's this AR10 holding up? How many rounds do you have on that stainless barrel, be interested to see how the MOA is on it after a few thousand rounds.

A great savings for such a minor "blemish". I picked up one of their "blemished" AK-47's and I still have yet to find the blem. Got it for $499 and free shipping!

I got my complete blem lower a couple weeks ago and couldn't find any blemishes anywhere. The guys at my local gun shop couldn't believe I got a complete lower for $129.99 and that it looked so good. 😂😂😂😂
@gorillaump58696 жыл бұрын
My blemish was a die grinder marking on the inside of the upper receiver right between the feed ramp and the ejection port inner right corner, You can only see it when the light hits it just right. I manually cycled a 30 round mag with zero issues BUY BLEMMISHED!!. I got a full upper, assembled- 16" 1:7 barrel, A2 front post, gas tube, Bird cage flash hider, complete delta ring, upper receiver, bolt, charging handle, forward assist. standard G.I. hand guards and ejection port cover for $199 shipped. You simply cant beat it!

@kentuckyjustice14087 жыл бұрын
Bro, don't dry fire your lower directly into itself like that! If you're checking trigger pull or something along those lines, they sell nylon blocks for your hammer to strike. At least put your hand up there for the hammer to hit. You'll mess your rifle up.

Did you really dry fire with the upper off!! Smh..
@horseblinderson47477 жыл бұрын
I've got several "blems" from them. I can't even find them. I think it may be an "always on sale" type thing cause we always overlist anyway type deal. But anyway PSA leans towards the DPMS standard on AR 10's. from what I've heard the Armalite pattern hardly runs. Can't say for certain though.
@charlescarlin70586 жыл бұрын
First off never let the hammer hit free like that you could damage your lower second don't push your takedown out that hard you break you detent

@kentonquint86887 жыл бұрын
I bought an upper and a lower recently also. The lower was a "Blem". Like you, I believe the mag well is the "Blem". I can feel on both sides a very slight ridge. Mag loads just fine.
@kentonquint86887 жыл бұрын
Mags load fine, but do not drop out on their own. Have to pull them out. It is the lip that is in the mag well. Some day might try to "sand" out the mag well.
@raymcelveen19524 жыл бұрын
I don’t think there is a blemish. I think they just say it has a blemish so they can lower the price and put a deal out there to spur sales. And then go back to a higher price. Why would they make so many guns with blemishes??

They are advertised as having cosmetic blemishes... so... I suppose if one were looking to find out what PSA is referring to as a 'blemish' they would probably be looking for cosmetic blemishes... I mean... it is in the title after all... Don't let me slow you down now.

Stay with DPMS platform and you can mix and match. P.S. They don't like your nails. And a mm is .039375 inches and that is a lot. So when you say not even a mm..........So cut your nails, finish school and come back and try again.

So what’s the best course of action after making this mistake?
@keithwhisman7 жыл бұрын
I just built a rifle based off of a Gen 2 upper and lower. I used a 20" DPMS straight fluted HBAR made by Faxom and it's a real doll. I am using an SJC Titan compensator to tame the recoil and for that $100 piece of muzzle metal you get near zero felt recoil. My KelTec 9mm Sub2000 has tons more recoil.
@chokem14 жыл бұрын
Many of the commentators here have a lot of gun knowledge and free advice. They should sack up and put out a few videos themselves. Have you guys ever made any mistakes when you started out? Do you think a whole page of "you should never ...blah blah blah" was necessary or does it make the gun community look like a bunch of douche bags? Buy the equipment, plan, shoot, edit and post the videos. Looking forward to seeing them.

never a good idea to take apart a new rifle... good job fucking up your gun! >:P
@greedfox78427 жыл бұрын
new guns need to have at least 500 rounds through them to soften up the factory springs and fittings, if you pull it apart too early you lose your chance to loosen up the gun and can cause irreparable damage to springs and anti-corrosion-factory-finish. this is why some AR-15's blow out their buffer spring or gas tube after 900 rounds, because they opened up their gun too early and fucked up the springs.
@greedfox78427 жыл бұрын
clearly you don't understand the measure of explosive power in a .223 and the kind of stresses that occur in a rifle's gas-impingement action. Yo, the steel in a car looks pretty solid until it hits something at 80kph+ and the metal bends like paper.
