i feel like Barcelona will be the real test regarding where top 3 teams(McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull) stand and how far the gap between 3 teams are. Barcelona is mix of high speed, low speed and long straight so this will determine for rest of the season whether we have constructors and Drivers title fight in our hands.

It doesn't have that slow chicane anymore to really test the low speed traction but I think RBR, or rather...Max, is going to win the GP but not by much since McLaren is really good with the highspeed corners. If Max wins Barcelona by 10+ seconds then it's very likely they dominate all 7 European purpose built tracks back to back until Baku, but if McLaren or Ferrari are 2 - 3 seconds behind (or in front) then the fight for the WCC is truly on.

It will be hard for Redbull to keep up given the MASSIVE development budget cut after Monaco. There's still potential for Charles and Lando to fight Max for the title given Redbull will struggle to update the car in time. But, we also need to remember the Max factor

Pretty sure Max will drag the car towards the front of the grid in qualifying but I’m also not very confident about Checo being able to escape Q1 because there’s plenty of high curbs on this circuit. This is why I think at least the Constructor’s Championship is on for Ferrari this year.

In Monaco, we have to admit that Russell surprised us the most as he, uncharacteristically, managed absorb the extreme pressure exerted on to control his natural urge to overdrive the car, in order to make tire management his priority, while keeping Max & Hamilton behind him, for most of the race.

I think the best way to pass judgement here, is to make a determination about Whom has the best tire deg, and also Who can get the heat into the front tires the best. And for Mercedes, Their new (W14 leftover) front wing was working well at Monaco, so You can't count them out either. I agree with JW (John Wick) that McLaren have an advantage over Fredarri in this instance because Canada emphasizes rear grip, and I believe McLaren AND Mercedes both have a better rear suspension to support the Aero floor.

@@F1Unchained Agreed. I think McLaren has a faster car than Ferrari right now. You have a circuit where Red Bull won't dominate, and the one or two-stop strategy is similar. McLaren has two fast drivers, but Piastri has a fast, aggressive pace, and Norris has a fast pace while managing the tyres. If I were the McLaren team principal, I would set Piastri up for a two-stop strategy and Norris up for a one-stop one. Max will not be able to cover both drivers at the Canadian GP, so you have a good opportunity for one of your drivers to be the winner. At Miami, when Max was pushed hard, he made a mistake. At Imola, if Max's tyres had gone off earlier, Norris would have won. Piastri needs to push Max initially because the Red Bull doesn't work well with the C3 and C4s.

At Imola, Rb was 5km/h faster than Ferrari and Canada has quite long straights, it was also a kerby track, but they managed just fine, while Monaco is a non-top speed circuit. Finally someone who doesn't clickbait in a fight for the championship!

Red Bull's main attribute is it's straight line speed, which will help at Canada. However some of the kerbs, like at the turn 8/9 chicane right after the tunnel and before the hairpin are really high. So high they "nearly knocked Verstappen out" last year, the final chicane is also a little bumpy so hopefully McLaren and Ferrari can capitalise off that.

What the wind tunnels need, is an accuate coefficient of deviation to plug into the SIMs, and then an accurate Translation of SIM data to the real life action on the track. THE most valuable thing right now, would be a Programmer that could actually drive the cars at speed. THAT is where Newey is Worlds apart. He can actually drive.

I doubt Logan will get any updates. I don't think, at this point, James is going out of his way to make sure Logan gets the same equipment Alex does. Logan continuing to fail will only justify his replacement next year that seems is a done deal already. These are just my thoughts....

Williams is restructuring and has enormous challenges on all fronts. They need to go backwards before they can progress. Logan is not good enough for F1. As Williams can often only provide one set of updated components, why would they give them to the driver who is failing them? That would be insane. Instead they give the upgrades to the driver who has a change of scoring them a point.
