Awesome video...I live in Boise, and constantly drive hours to fly fish - The south fork, silver creek, Big Wood, Owyhee, etc etc and videos like this remind me how silly I am for ignoring the water right in my back yard. Definitely going to pick up that Firefly bundle.

Right! We are so blessed with this amazing opportunity right in town! However those other streams are very fun to fish as well, they are all special in there own ways

Thanks for sharing! Good stuff! Those flies are money flies for trout for so many locations. Love the sculpin patterns, too... Many of your flies appear to still be barbed; curious why you don't pinch the barbs? For me pinching hooks is pretty much a gotta do any more.
@FireflyFishing2 жыл бұрын
Most the flies I buy in store are already barbless however sometimes they aren’t and I always forget to look😂
@outasightgear3 жыл бұрын
Nice, informative video. Yeah, most fly fishermen are tight and pretentious. I often throw a caddis nymph on the Boise. Thanks for the video!
@iflanzy3 жыл бұрын
Have you ever tried fishing at the spot right below the ID-21 overpass or right below the lower dam in that area? I'm using every fly in my box and nothing ever hits even though fish are jumping all over the place. Seems like the fish up there are pretty dang picky.
@FireflyFishing3 жыл бұрын
Definitely bro! Lots more pressure up there so fish can be more picky! However through a jigged pheasant tail at them and an olive bullet 💪🏼 euro nymph there as well

Hey man I just started and I’m fishing the Boise river in star id like some help on what to use it just rained and it’s cloudy so can you give me some ideas (I subscribed)
@FireflyFishing Жыл бұрын
Cloudy and raining conditions are the best times to throw larger streamers and wooly buggers for bigger trout!
@brokenjawfishing48623 жыл бұрын
Great video. You’re opening scene was so funny. I have seen fly fisherman be so rude to the beginner fly fisherman. I need to buy me a fly pole. I want to learn how to use streamers.

Depends on what time of year but it's best mid till late summer for Pmds size 18-22 and caddis size 16-20
