What Forza Motorsport's Lowest Rated Lobbies Look Like!

Today I am back in some Forza Motorsport lobbies, but this time I have created a new account and unlike my near max rated main account, the goal for this one is to get as close to the LOWEST rating possible in the game. The results are lobbies that have some of the worst driving I've ever seen, with positions basically given for free. We also see some major issues with the rating system in the game which may suggest why there are always slow drivers in any lobby.

I'm an S rated with a 1100 skill rating. I consistently finish last but try to race cleanly and stay on the track. I see out of control drivers finishing ahead all the time.

I actually found sticking to A safety rating is “safer” than S rating. Im sitting at about 4850 skill but when I get S safety I get matched against straight up Death Race enthusiasts.

That's interesting, but also kind of logical. S tier usually contains the fastest players, who will try moves when they're faster etc. The chances of an incident can be higher.

S 4999 and get in to lobbies where ppl are over 5 seconds slower in qually and reek havoc in the first corner(s).. Why i am matched with these players? Enough good ppl in my friend list that are fast and skilled drivers but i rarely get matched with them. And if we make a party to race together then 9 out of 10 times the game crashes before we can actually race. After a few tries and 2 hours further the party dissolves and and everybody will do their own thing again... I came from PSN to XBL because it was better and easy to join friends, but those days are (long) gone.

@@ACR_BOX This reminds me of Halo Infinite, where it was hard to play with friends on ranked, because of the ranking system. I guess T10 could throw in some unranked hoppers with less XP/credits or something.

I think the lobbies are built based on connection speed and availability…there may not have been enough people to keep a lobby consistently filled with equally rated people. The bugs will get worked out though.

When trying to get track limit penalties, the system is heavily weighted towards whether you actually gained an advantage. If you slowly drive out of bounds, it'll assume you've made an honest mistake and the sub optimal line is punishment enough. If you cut a corner and speed through it faster than the normal racing line would allow, then you're much more likely to get a penalty. Cutting the corkscrew would be a good example.

Yesterday I got a 1.5 second penalty for dropping both my tires off the inside of the corkscrew. Being generous, maybe I gained 0.2 seconds.

@@DrivingGod21 a machine is never going to be perfect. Hell, even real stewards in the FIA are nowhere close, but if you got an advantage and got penalised for it then that's good enough for me. Sure, it's overkill and it probably should have been weaker, but you were in the wrong and it caught you. I'd much rather it was iffy in how bad it was, than whether it was bad at all.

@@existentialselkath1264 Oh no I'm not complaining. I understand I would rather it give penalties for minor infractions than not at all. I was just giving an example of how easy it is to cut the corkscrew and get massive penalties. The system definitely needs tweaking though. Even the best penalty systems aren't always fair, but I feel like this one is way off.

The most carnage I'd see were during my stints as a 'S' driver. After an ill advised look at one of the R class races I got stuck in the middle of a utter mosh pit at turn one and the avalanche of penalaties I got from that seems to have firmly planted me in "A" now. The ratings system is bunk. The aim of every race is not to get murdered at turn one and try and get a safe spot in the top 6 or 7 for the rest of the race. If you fall to the rear, you're in for a bad day!

Initial rating: S-3900. Either killed everyone by 5 secs with a couple of others or get killed by 2 secs a lap. Three races later I'm 4300-B with this JSR Devon dude in my lobby up by 3 seconds...Thanks for being a sport and not racing in that lobby! It's broken but still better than it was. It's like multicalas racing in the TCR lobby at times. I had a shameful rammer target me in one race, took 3 laps to get his DQ by which time my race was ruined. Just like the old lobbies!

I am not even bothering racing online anymore until they fix how a player can ram into you and if it spins them out then YOU get the penalty and YOU take the ratings hit.

From what I can tell, lap time has a big influence over your skill rating. So you have to crawl around to get those low numbers

here's the problem with saying "please spend more time in single player before going into a multiplyer lobby" the people who need that advice will 100% never take it .. and the good drivers hear "im not good enough" and never go into multiplayer.

lol just got into sim racing and i bought this game and realized how bad i am as a driver lol spent a good amount of 100 levels in the campaign to learn how to play these games and after that went into my first multiplayer, qualified with S rating at driver skill at 1100 lol xD after 100 level of playing in multiplayer i can finally complete races with out the DNF title and its great seeing how ive been progressing but im dying cuz im probably just as bad as these drivers

I'm in S and around 4.3-4.5k skill rating and I have seen worse driving than this, its actually better to not qualify as you will be able to pre-empt the carnage ahead.

The ratings are so bad atm. I’m currently an A4,987 (should be S) and 95% of my races are wreckfests. I’ve had maybe 2-3 other guys at my skill level give me a good run. If I don’t party up with friends I either qualify and dominate or skip quali and get beat to hell on my way to a P3 or better finish.

If anything, this proves that the system, even if unrefined at this point in the game's lifecycle, makes racing better. This was missing for years, so much time in the series wasted with subpar multiplayer experiences.

Highest rated lobbies are the same, i always qualify 1st to third, i never finish a race higher than 10th unless i start first and gain some margin for them not to torpedo me…. I’m starting to hate online races. The first corner is always tragic 🤣

Absolutely pride myself on clean, fair racing, if i cause an accident ill say "sorry" without fail. I have an S rating with a skill score of about 4400 yet im done with this shit, What's the point of trying to race clean when some twat dive bombs from 300 meters away, smacks me off the track, i lose multiple places and he doesn't even get a time penalty. Way to frustrating to fing enjoyable.

Actually your rating should double in that race!!! The goal of the rating isn't an olympic sport it's to have fun races. The system sees you as a higher rank player than you were and moved you there!

the skill ratings and safety ratings are so weird anything below S is destruction derby and even at the peak of the skill rating, i will still be faster on old hards at the end of the race than people who just pitted for softs id really love to see stats on how many players are on which group and how much it fluctuates because it feels like theyre almost meaningless in some cases

At a higher refresh rate the frame rate lock is increased. 144hz monitor is capped at 72 fps.

This is mostly because of crashing. Overdriving the car and going too hot into corners. Brake early. Slow in, fast out.

Looks like ACC Public lobbies! 🤣 I bet the Forza GT lobby would be even worse at those ratings. Seriously, I swear if you just keep your nose clean and stay on track, you'll probably be rated S/4500 even if you are slow. The game does make it too easy to get skill rating meaning being high rated is effectively meaningless. And matchmaking fills lobbies way too fast, regularly leaving you racing guys seconds off the pace. I will say going from S/4980 to S/4996, suddenly the lobbies got cleaner. I don't know if that is because dirty drivers are finally being pushed down the rating, or if that small change got me in lobbies where people seem to understand how to avoid others better.

Yeah man, I came out of Qualifier series at S/4600 on my main account, when in reality, if ratings were done properly, I'd eventually work my way up to 4500 max. Now I'm at 4979, which should be the realm of the best players, imo.

Yeah. Do wish it was more like IRacing/LFM. Like the highest rating you should be able to get out of qualifier is 2500, and then can only gain 50-100 on a race based on strength of the lobby. Not sure it would matter with how lobbies are filled, but would at least give a bit of meaning to progression. Only really competitive lobby I managed to end up in seemed to be a VNX group lobby, and that was a lot of fun.

The thing i hate the most...is the quantity of dumbasses that keep on playing this game...and still say that it is a good game!!! I spent 50 bucks on the vip membership, and i must say in all fayrness...the game sucks as hell!!! Yes the gameplay on contriler is great, the online is adictive, but in the end you end up racing against all kind of racing trolls that the one goal they have is to mess your race up!!!!
