Thank you so much!!For all the work you put into your videos. My mom, passed away from dementia. That scares me as well as the other diseases. I do believe my mom didn’t take estrogen going through her Menopausal years. She also had a hip replacement and Osteoporosis. She was moody all the time during my high school years. She lived in her own little bubble denying everything. So sad! Back then women didn’t have all the choices they have now! I am so thankful, to have found you! I am learning so much! For years, I thought taking calcium would prevent osteoporosis. I’ve learned from you that taking calcium does not prevent osteoporosis! I love your videos and I love you! You are Wonderful!

Heart attack scares me the most. 😬 I am Not sure why besides after going into surgical menopause I was having heart palpitations. Not so much now but the stresses of everything going on in our nation right now is stressful. What is also strange to me is how women's health (menopause, post menopause health) is not researched as well as men's health. Not even heart attack symptoms. It's like all women will die of breast cancer because that seems to be the most important right now. Goes to show you it is definately a man's world. By the way, you look amazingly stunning in this video.

I am working my way through all the menopause videos from the start onwards so I don't miss anything. It has helped me understand so much more than I knew even if I do a lot of research. Am 66 and I have been on an estradiol transdermal gel and progesterone pill at night for the past 14 years and feel great on this regimen but I still have osteoporosis anyway, and now have some fluid showing in my uterus during a scan, though the lining is normal thickness and I have no symptoms. Doctor wants me to go off the hormones completely...sigh,.. to see if it makes the fluid go away. It is so depressing as I will not take bisphosphonates etc. I am trying to learn from all your videos so that I'm better informed before any other medical appointment as it seems there are lots of myths around regarding HRT and statistics, and this video in particular is a wonderful summary and very important to watch. I never knew about the two different effect that calcium and oestrogen have on bones. Thanks SO much!

You look beautiful as usual! My hubby is watching with me as usual and members of his family too! As for as prevention for Osteoporosis there was nothing I could do that I didn't do that works. I used to walk 8 miles a day before I shattered my ankle and its been downhill ever since and until I get the metal out I wont be able to walk that far again. I do walk stairs because it is too cold usually to walk outside even now but I do walk and do weights but its nothing like it used to be. I cant wait to get the metal out. But it seems walking 8 miles a day was not enough to prevent it. I will schedule my consultation as soon as I get test results back. But good news I am starting Prometrium tomorrow! This is such a valuable education! My GYN is now taking courses in menopause because I have taught him so much! Thank you!

U r a menopause goddess. I adore u barbie ❤ In perimenopause why does a women have occasional miss of period or delay period. Is it lack of ovulation? Less estrogen or less progestrone or both? Have I missed a vedio which explains this? U r my favorite. I think I ve watched all ur vedios. Some multiple times
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
PERI-menopause is due to loss of progesterone, and that causes your periods to become irregular. Estrogen can be chaotic, but is not entirely gone until POST-menopause.

Ha! Well, it's not fair if the challenge is a familiar one. You have to do something like go take physics if you hate physics, or learn a language if you're terrible at languages. If you do something that comes naturally to you (as knitting does), then it's not a challenge for your brain. But if I tried to knit a duster, now, that would be a major challenge for my brain.

Hi Menopause Barbie..I wonder if it's normal to get so tired after I apply my bio identical estrogen cream ? And hungry lol..anyone else get this ?..also is it enough to use estriol or is a combo of esteiol and estradiol best?
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
Anni, All women are different. But, there's non way for me to answer your question without a whole lot more information. I don't know anything about you or the "bioidentical estrogen cream" you're using. I can certainly help you, but it would require a consultation, in which I can tailor all the information to YOU. I'm in the business of educating you about everything you need to know and do in order to get exactly what you want for managing your menopause your way. So, here's how a consultation works: 1) You would schedule a one-on-one consultation at my website, MenopauseTaylor.ME, choosing a time that is convenient for you. I do consultations on Skype, FaceTime. Facebook Messenger, What’s App, and the phone. 2) I would confirm that you are scheduled for the stated time, and invite you to send me as much information about yourself as you please. You can make it brimming with details and tell me about your reproductive life, any gynecologic problems you've had, your symptoms of peri-menopause, and your symptoms of post-menopause. You can include all your fears, concerns, and goals for your menopause management. You may also send me any labs, mammogram results, bone density results, etc. that you would like me to include in designing your protocol. For instance, if you want to adhere to a certain category of management options (herbs or diet & lifestyle, or whatever), you should tell me that. I would need all these things at least 1 week before your consultation with me. 3) I'll get busy creating a document that gives you all the education you need to understand absolutely everything, points put the pros and cons of each option, and tailors it all to YOU using the information you have provided. The document will be loooooong. Most are over 30 pages. 4) I will send you the document by email 48 hours before your consultation. You will benefit greatly by reading it in advance. Light bulbs will go off like crazy, and if you're like most women, you'll feel that you've already gotten your money's worth. 5) During your consultation, we will review the document and address any issues you want to fine tune everything and determine your best options. I'll tell you exactly how to find the right kind of professional, how to have the conversation in order to get what you want, and the nuances of things like guidelines and insurance. I leave nothing unaddressed. 6) You will go to a professional of your choosing in order to get the actual hormones or whatever you choose to use. 7) After the first consultation, I'll hold your hand (forever if you want me to). In other words, you'll be able to schedule mini-consultations (15-minute or 30-minute, in addition to full consultations) whenever you need to. I'll keep records of your situation. Most women schedule mini-consultation whenever they go to the doctor and don't understand what he or she said, or why. I translate. I make sense of everything. Most schedule mini-consultation whenever they have a new test and they want me to explain the results. And all schedule mini-consultation whenever their situation changes and they need to re-weigh and balance their options. The time you spend with me will make everything about working with any other professional so easy. And they will love the fact that you have an actual education rather than a bunch of misconceptions that you got form the Internet. If your initial hormone regimen is not right, you'll want to consult with me before going to your doctor. I can prepare you for what to expect and what to request. So, that's my role. And nobody else on earth does this kind of thing but me. So, I hope you schedule a consultation and let me hold your hand (figuratively). I hope to meet you soon!

Hello Barbie! I have a question for you. Is taking .025 mg of an Estradiol patch (twice a week) and 100 mg of progesterone (once a day) enough to prevent these dreaded diseases??? If not, how do I ask my GYN to up the dose? The hot flashes/night sweats are a little better but still there sometimes. Help!!! Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful knowledge!!!

I am sooooooo happy to see you are asking this question, as I am on the patch also, and wonder if I get enough estrogen, as I feel like I am not experiencing much improvement, compared to the previous use of hormone pellets, which included estrogen and testosterone pellets and oral progesterone. I want to change to oral, but wonder if I am making this up in my head.

You are taking half the necessary dosage. And, getting your doctor to increase it may not be as easy as it seems. You have to know how to "play the game." Estrogen is all about bone QUANTITY (how much bone you have). Calcium is all about bone QUALITY ( how strong the bone you have is). Quantity counts for 70%. Quality counts for 30%. You need both, because they accomplish two completely different things. It's like the difference between brushing your teeth & whitening your teeth. They do two different things, both of which make your teeth look better.

Can you tell me if take estrogen replacement to decrease the risk?
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
The very reason your risk for heart attack, osteoporosis, and Alzheimer's increases is BECAUSE you lose your estrogen. If you take HRT, you decrease your risks for all those diseases. But, timing is important. I've covered all of this in great detail in previous videos. And my menopause education is really somewhat like "Menopause University." If you want to learn what you need to know, you really have to watch the videos in order starting wit the very first one. Otherwise, it's like trying to read before you know the alphabet. I’m an anal, neurotic, pedantic, perfectionistic surgeon. I put great time and energy into making sure I publish my videos in just the right order so that they are the most beneficial for you. There is absolutely nothing willy-nilly about the order. I start with Video #1, assuming you know absolutely nothing. And I do not mean that as an insult. The fact is, you don’t know what you don’t know. And, if you start at the beginning, you’ll be shocked at what you thought you knew, but don’t. So, if you watch them out of order, you're really shooting yourself in the foot (or the head). I respond to these comments here on KZbin daily. So I'm here to help you. But, I'll also know if you're watching the videos out of order. (I'm like your mom. I have eyes in the back of my head!)

Helo beautiful lady , question please help with info : I am 53 years old and I still have my regular (every each 28 days ) menstrual period , and I have an multi fibroid uterus (about 7 fibroms in numbers, the biggest 4cm , the others smaller then 3cm ) , and every month it’s a very very heavy period with anemia blood results , Do you recommend a hysterectomy ? It s about time I guess !? What will be the best procedure for me ? Total hysterectomy? My biggest concern is this : should I keep the ovaries or not !? For estrogen hormones? At this age 53 are they still working in full potential or are useless to keep them!?

My dear Gabriela, You definitely need a consultation with me. All of your comments reveal that your basic knowledge is zilch. I'll change all that.

Dr. Taylor-How do you know if you are taking enough progesterone/estrogen (I still have my uterus) to make affect the diseases you discussed?
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
I've covered this is in previous videos, and if you haven't watched my video in order, starting with the very first one, you are shooting yourself in the foot (or the head). Why oh why would you defeat the whole purpose by failing to watch all the videos in order? I’m an anal, neurotic, pedantic, perfectionistic surgeon. I put great time and energy into making sure I publish my videos in just the right order so that they are the most beneficial for you. This is Menopause University. It's school. You know how you had to learn the alphabet before you could learn to read? Well, this is no different. If you don't get the foundation, noting you learn will be of much use to you because you can't put it into context.

She was my OB/GYN when I was 28-29. I am now 51. Her bedside manner is exactly her response shown here...not much sincerity or sensitivity. She is also the same DR, after 1 year on Chlomid with no success, told me to have a full hysterectomy and that I would never have children. Well, 3 IVF's later for my oldest and a natural conception for my younger, I now have a 19 and 17 year old. This woman had me in tears on so many different occasions. Looks like she found her calling ....

Menopause Taylor - wow, I am sorry for upsetting you. I have been watching them in order, I just simply made a mistake.
@thetimeisnowfitness17485 жыл бұрын
@@kristinemoe3331 In case you didn't see my response to your question, see above.
@MenopauseTaylor5 жыл бұрын
No worries, Kristine. I'm not upset at all. I simply want to make sure you don't shortchange yourself. If you take the minimal necessary dosage AND your symptoms of menopause disappear, AND your bone density tests are normal, then you are taking enough. You don't have to get your hormones to tell you what's adequate. Your own body can tell you that.
