Goosebumps - I think of glass breaking and Stone Cold entering or the bell tolling, lights go out and Undertaker appears. HBK's theme music was also in there too edit: I wrote this comment at around 7:30 and 2 minutes later Tim says this LOL I relate to Tim more than anyone else on the show when it comes to my childhood, though he is 4 years my junior and Collin on the political and philosphical side, though he is 2 or 3 years my senior.

You did not read what I wrote. The music gave me chills. That was part of my childhood. Being a musician, music has, since I was a little boy, had an great influence on my life. So that being said, as a child those theme songs just got me amped. As an adult, that's a callback to nostalgia and those tunes still evoke those emotions, as they were so real when I was a kid. Also, as an adult, there are alot of interesting things that these wrestlers and the stories they tell about what was going on behind the curtain back then. Go

@Tyler_W9 жыл бұрын
I'd say that the stuff that personally gives me chills are, like Colin said, the intro of a concert, or even hearing a ton of people singing the same song, be it in a concert, church service, or even just a couple buddies jamming to some awesome tunes driving down a road. Awe inspiring and or shocking moments in stories, be they in movies, video games, books, or comics, those can give me goosebumps. Walking on eggshells with that whole remake the prequels talk haha. I do not believe they were bad movies. Flawed and as a whole inferior to the originals from a technical standpoint, yes, but bad they are not. The flaws in the prequels can even be seen in the originals. Moments of stiff dialog and performance? Check. Creature(s)/character(s) that proved important to how part of the plot turned out but aren't taken too seriously beyond their immediate use? Check. A few underdeveloped and arguably overrated villain(s)? Check. Contextually creepy interaction(s) between a male and female lead? Check. Debateably racist caricatures? Check. Slightly frustrating decisions made by the archetypal chosen one character? Check. I could go on. Consider the positives of the trilogy, and they are far greater in number than are given credit in the video. There's the phenominal John Williams soundtrack (Tim, I'd think you having said to be a soundtrack junkie could at least appreciate this), the cool choreography and set pieces, characters like Qui-gon Jinn, Darth Maul, the clone army, the Jedi Council/Order, General Grevious, Mace Windu, Anakin (in episode 3 primarily), the especially well done performances by the actors portraying Obi-wan Kenobi and Emperor Palpatine, the massive world building on a scale not seen up until that point outside the Expanded Universe, the use of EU concepts, the dog fights and races, lightsaber duels, the political and social commentary (I know some people might have preferred the more simple black and white story approach of the originals, but what the prequels did with that was really well done), and if not the execution in every individual scene didn't always hit the mark, the overarching storytelling trying to be accomplished throughout the trilogy is also brilliant. I think the positives are just a few too many and such great positives that I can't justifiably call them bad movies. I would argue both that because Lucas isn't as good of a hands on director as he is an overall storyteller and that he should have spent more and better time letting us experience Anakin's personal development with him instead of just telling and showing us it happened and that the overarching story being told was so grand in scope, arguably beyond Lucas' individual ability to tell it, that the prequels needed to have another movie set in the Clone Wars where we actually experience Anakin's development through the trials of the Clone Wars into the noble hero, brave warrior, and good friend that Obi-wan tells Luke about in A New Hope. We do see that Anakin in Episode 3 as described by old Ben, specifically in the opening segment where Anakin shows loyalty and friendship towards Obi-wan by saving his skin twice at possible expense of the mission and became the hero of the mission and the Republic by more or less singlehamdedly beating and killing Count Dooku and ensuring the Chancellor's safety. Those scenes clearly depicted that Anakin, but because Lucas is a better big picture storyteller than director, he elected to move the plot along straight into Anakin's next existential crisis right away before cementing the hero, warrior, and friend they were promised and as seen in the beginning of the movie. That is why I personally consider the 2 Clone wars shows integral to getting the full prequel experience, not because I think they are inherently better than the movies themselves (I go back and forth on that), but because they especially expanded on Anakin's personal development in the Clone Wars where we actually experienced that growth with him throughout, and it's all legit because every story and plot progression from those shows came straight from the mind of Lucas himself. (The shows are arguably better because better directors took the stories Lucas already came up with and more skillfully interpreted them better than Lucas arguably could.) The story was a giant intergalactic conspiracy. The story is not only seeing the growth and trials of young Anakin Skywalker in becoming a Jedi and falling to the Sith and Obi-wan trying to train and guide him, but the real action is behind the scenes with Palpatine and his schemes to rule the galaxy. The entire plot revolved around everyone else reacting, unbeknownst to them until it was too late, to everything Sidious was doing both behind the scenes and in broad daylight, seeing him play chess while everyone else thinks they're playing checkers. (Sidious is my top favorite evil mastermind in all movies and maybe all fiction thanks to the prequels.) The story is a grand mystery, a political conspiracy, a Shakespearean tragedy, in some ways both literally and figuratively, and of course a scifi-fantasy epic with social and political commentary to boot, all in one, not to mention it gets kinda subtle and digs a little bit into Star Wars lore, and expands it like few other things before it. The midichlorians and the final scene of episode 3 jumping between Vader and Padme where Vader lives and Padme dies are both some of the most widely misinterpreted and overall misunderstood moments in Star Wars and I'd say in film in general, and the fact Lucas, despite his flaws in execution in some of the finer details, doesn't hold your hand but nevertheless creates this super complex expansion of the overall universe and lore is amazing. While I love the prequels for what they were, there is a tinge of disappointment, if only because I know, had it been better executed overall, that they could undoubtedly in time be seen as modern classics as much as the originals already are. I really enjoyed them and they did far more right than they are given credit for, but the fact they could have been that much better had Lucas had other, more skilled, hands on directors interpreting his excellent story for him, or at least advising him like was done in ESB, ROTJ, Clone Wars, and the Clone Wars leaves me wondering what could have been. That's why I'm so intrigued at the suggestion of redoing the prequels, not because I thought they were bad, but because I want to see if a better director could just take everything, all of those good ingredients that were already there, and see if they could give them a tweak a small revision here and there and hopefully make them the masterpieces they could have been had Lucas used help with directing and for advice the first time around. At the same time, I feel like that for better and for worse, we should respect the past whether we like it or not and leave them as is and move on. It also seems almost disrespectful to just erase everything the creator of Star Wars did, at least while he's still alive. That might be unnecessarily humiliating and somewhat disrespectful of an artist's work. If they do remake them, to which I wouldn't entirely be opposed purely for curiosity's sake, the least they would owe Lucas is to make their product and consult him on it. They should at least ask if whatever revisions are made still hold true to the heart of the characters and the core of story he wanted to tell. I'd even recommend and wouldn't oppose making a regular, full length trilogy of films of course, but make it animated in the styling of the Clone Wars series. Maybe even bring in some of the show's voice cast if some of the original movie cast won't or can't reprise their roles. Making it animated can help appease different crowds and allows flexibility. So long as the revisionist versions don't screw with the original trilogy, those who hated the original prequels could fairly consider the "new prequels" as their officially legitimate canon. Making it animated won't necessarily come off as a complete dismissal altogether of the original prequels for those who liked them, and making it animated could separate them just enough as a gesture of creative courtesy and acknowledgement of Lucas' original take. This way, those who don't like the original prequels can claim the animated revisions it prequels, those who liked the original prequelscan rightfully do so without feeeling like they are beimg completely canned, those who appreciate both can. You please both sides and doesn't step on the wrong people's toes, or at least tries the best way possible, and people's curiosity about seeing what a potentially better revisionist interpretation of the prequels would look like.

@LockmortEdits9 жыл бұрын
They can't remake Star Wars because those were actual movies Nick. Granted, the prequels weren't good, but they were still part of that universe. It's the same with Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park or even Pirates of the Caribbean. Those are instant classic movies which you just can't mess around with. They can make sequels and maybe even a prequel at some point, but you can't just ignore the originals. Comic Book movies are a whole other thing. Comic Books change, evolve, and reboot their own stories all the time, so that's why they can easily adapt that strategy to another medium like movies. The two exceptions maybe are the James Bond movies, but even (some of) those were based on books. They even tried to explain why the character of James Bond could be other people/actors taking over his persona in Skyfall. The other one would be Mad Max, but only because that was possible in that specific universe. Movie reboots or remakes based on movies simply never work because the audience doesn't accept it, which is a good thing. I don't want to see a new version of The Godfather, Fight Club or Pulp Fiction. To put it bluntly, it's like rebooting The Fast & The Furious series without Vin Diesel. That'll never work because fans (like yourself) won't put up with that, and rightly so.
@PTthereal9 жыл бұрын
There was probably a stipulation in the sale of star wars that they had to leave the prequels alone. I'm sure George knew that everyone hated them and I'm sure there is a certain amount of pride involved.
