I just sold the 3080 ti in my main rig at a decent price so flipped for a 4080 super(MSI), used are still within 200 dollars(often less) of new and while I buy/sell used GPUs all the time that's just too much of a risk for so little. it came with Outlaws and got it from BB with no sales tax. I suspect the 5080 is either going to be a disappointment or will be in the 1300+. The real question will be how does the 5080 compare to the 4090.
@gottahavitvtАй бұрын
@AnonymousUser-ww6ns I would disagree, a 5080 with 4080 super performance for 800-900 would be a huge hit I think, you don't see 4080 supers new getting anywhere near that. You would see a lot of people like who were like me who were on the edge about the 4080 super jumping on it. it won't happen however. it's going to be min 1199

I really hope the 50 Series isn't a shitshow like the 40 Series were except for the high-end and enthusiast class GPUs. Hopefully, competition can bring us consumers a wide variety of choices with considerable performance uplifts at aggressive prices, at least in the low-end and midrange segments, which is where RDNA 4 and Battlemage are said to be very competitive.
@Z3t487Ай бұрын
According to Steam's hardware statistics for September, the RTX 4060 is the second most-used GPU, with 4.44% of users owning it (+1.13% from the previous month), and the RTX 4060 Ti ranks fourth, present in 3.55% of Steam users' PCs (+0.74%). I’d like to note that both cards received poor reviews from reliable reviewers. The success of these poor-quality cards will likely convince Nvidia that they can continue to push subpar entry-level or mid-tier products, as people will buy them regardless. And even the RTX 5080 with 16 GB, a 256-bit bus, and half the cores of the RTX 5090-essentially an RTX 5070 in reality, but with the name and price of an 80 class-will be a disappointment for those who fall for it if the rumors about its specs turn out to be true.
@Gamer-q7vАй бұрын
@@Z3t487 This is why competition is so important. RDNA 4 and Battlemage are expected to launch in Q1 2025 and are said to be very competitive in the low-end and midrange segments. I don't think drivers would be nearly as big of a problem for Battlemage as they were for Alchemist at launch. If Battlemage can deliver a massive performance increase over Alchemist with good drivers at reasonable prices, I think there is a good chance Intel will gain quite a bit of market share in the discrete GPU market.
@Gamer-q7vАй бұрын
@@Z3t487 The flagship RDNA 4 GPU is rumoured to offer 7900 XT-7900 XTX levels of raster performance and 4080 levels of RT performance for $400-$500, which would be fairly impressive. If RDNA 4 and Battlemage can deliver powerful midrange GPUs at reasonable prices, then hopefully it will convince Nvidia to pack significantly more processing power into their low-end and midrange GPUs. RDNA 4 and Battlemage should be highly competitive in the low-end and midrange segments, and then RDNA 5 and Celestial should hopefully bring the heat to Nvidia in the high-end and enthusiast-class segments. Competition can make that happen, and it benefits us consumers. It's the key to a healthy industry.

@@ELpeaceonearth 👍I always upgrade my GPU right before a launch. I like to stay one generation behind and upgrade every launch. That way I can still sell my old card (3080 12GB) for a decent amount to offset the cost, plus getting to see each generations top cards. I will get a 5080 but will use this 4080S until they announce the 6080 launch. 😀

Personally, i really do believe the 4070 is just the best all rounder, the promises of future dlss options are more than enough for an advantage in the next 4 years over other cards. The price is above what is necessary but it really goes far if you dont want to spring for the TI variants.

You should only be buying if there's a severe discount like 50% MSRP. The world economy can be flipped upside down in a few weeks.

Yeqah right bro. When have you seen any sort of discounts from nvidia that comes close to 10% off for retail box. They don't lower prices anymore, they just stop producing them. If they lower prices, than their next gen can't be released at anven higher price. Take a look at amd x3d right now, they are going to price it even higher than before. When hype is up, you pay the price.

I'm gonna stick with my 3070 because there's nothing wrong with it , it's the game's fault if it doesn't run well and the lazy developers who don't bother optimizing their games
@downtherabbithole520629 күн бұрын
I have the 4080 super and it sucks with out dlss or frame generation. It is really not that great in pure rasterization. I wish I would have got the 7900 XTX sometimes having all the bells and whistles on is fun, but sometimes you just want to see the game as it is without all the add-ons. And that seems to be the way the market's going is where they use AI software to render games instead of pure hardware. And that will make developers lazy. And you can see this happening already with some games where they require you to use dlss or frame generation.
