I was like yea shes the girl from scary movie isn't she. My sister was like no they're different people 🤣🤣🤣

I just had this conversation with my mom the other day about this 😂. I literally thought they were the same person or twin sisters at least.

What Sanaa said at first is so true « talking to yourself in a loving way » I think is SO important especially for the black community and especially for the black women, because we've been taught very early that we needed to be strong and tough that we start quite early also to be self-critic and even full of self-loathing. Our environnement, the mainstream culture give us an image of ourself that is most of the times so harmful that a lot of black girls grow up to be insecure and self-hating women. I realized myself some times ago how my inner thoughts were harmful and self-loathing and I just read this thing, (I think it was from one of Louise Hay's books) that we are the person we spend most times talking with, and she said something about how if we would talk the way we talk to ourself to a mother, a best friend or a daugther.Considering how important our inner monologue are regarding our self-love, I started to think and I realized I wouldn't because if I was talking like that to my mom or my sister I wouldn't be considered a good person, I would never respect someone who spoke to a loved one the way I talked to myself. It just blow my mind and I realized I needed to change my inner thoughts. Now, it's not always easy, it clearly takes practice, but not that i'm aware of that I definitely feel empowered by the possibility of change.

I'm totally feelin' what they are talking about. But, I can't help but think, "oh my gosh, they aren't the same person!" I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I get confused who is who.

I use to make it a point to always have one friend that was 5 years older, five years younger, and one my own age to bounce off of to gain perspective.

Just saw the movie it's a call of the past movies good ones I wish they made more movies like this about black folks instead of this over-dramatized wannabe gangster or black folks trying to act White and supposed to be successful I'm tired of that

How? That's literally the name of the movie and the book it was based off.

So... "Mein Kampf" which is Adolph Hitler's autobiography, isn't racist because it's literally the name of the book? Is that the level of logic you really want to employ?
