i believe traditionally ministers lied to the public, but were expected to be somewhat honest with each other and senior aids. If ministers are willing to lie to the prime minister about what they are doing and achieving, then of course nothing can work because decisions are being made on the basis of fantasy. But of course at the time we had Johnson as prime minister and Cummings as the shadow prime minister, with two of the countries most accomplished liars and bullshipers in such high positions why wouldn't other ministers assume it was acceptable to follow their lead

Hi. You need to cover the Scottish enquiry in tandem with the UK govt enquiry. The Scottish enquiry dropped some bomshells this week that Dr. John Campbell covers in his video 'Care Home Deaths'. Those in power absolutely despise us. The Barrington Plan was the only way. Underpinned by 100 years of pandemic preparedness. I was fired from Forsyth hospital for declining the vaccine they also refused my religious exemption. But I believe I’ve made the right choice. No one had my back I was alone! I have been struggling since. As a single mom things are tough on me. Both of my sons are autistic. I’m constantly struggling to provide for them and now that I’m home schooling them my hours to work are limited. I’m overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. My faith in you is strong! Even as I constantly struggle to pay my rent. And I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my children. I’m keeping faith. Walking with faith is the most important thing us christian’s can do. Hi Open democracy, thank you again and keeping me roughly in the loop, this early item and the issue of asymptomatic transmission was actually well known and understood by epidemiologists but for the most part they were not consulted at this time by the administrators and politicians because none of them were inclined to make statements of the degree of definition and certainty that was so much in demand, none of these people were in any way willing to accept the very real uncertainty that is always presented by nature, it always take a long time for reliable information to emerge and when it did a very large well conducted study in China detected almost zero infection in citizens exposed to other people that did have an infection but had no symptoms at the time of exposure. This was of course consistent with the typical behaviour of viral infections, an infected person's disease has to progress to quite an advanced state before enough viral material is produced to pass the infection, by the time that happens to one who is seriously ill because their immune systems have been unable to overcome it quickly can find themselves producing vast amounts of active viral material, more than enough for one sick person to infect fifty thousand new ones each day!. The fact that that did never happen anywhere at any time in any place shows very clearly that this particular virus was nowhere near as virulent as the clamouring hordes imagined!. One could argue that this attempt to suppress this well intentioned but deluded woman was not such a bad idea, there was more than enough panic and hysteria already!. Cheers, Richard.

@@DerekJThorpe Hi Derek J Thorpe, thank you for this reply, in my opinion it is crucial that we never forget that all politicians are self-selected for positions in government, they are all there only because they want to be there, each of them has their own baggage but to stay there and get elevated the first have to believe that the position they aspire to embodies some actual 'power' in spite of the conspicuous lack of evidence, they also have to satisfy there 'colleaguea' sorry rivals that they are fit for the post, that implies concessions and compromise of the sort that those with real integrity like Rory Stewart and Jeremy Corbin have to be excluded for lack of 'compliance'. That ethos of compliance to the 'rules' of the 'club' is a dominant permanent force. In that context can you even imagine that such people would wish to consult ant=y sensible properly educated scientist on any matter?. Again they do the only thing they can do is enlist the support of an agreeable 'expert'. None of the 'real' experts that I have ever dealt with and there have been many ever under any circumstances would ever claim to be 'expert', some would claim to be interested, some claim experience, all acknowledge that what they do not know vastly outmeasures what little they do know and none would ever advocated certainty.
