The quartier around is nicknamed "Chicago"... Always been a "garbage" part of the town... "Mesbak"... Oh sorry maybe not this one -_-

Okay, now I’m anxious to watch part 2. That was riveting to watch. It was lucky that you had an explosives expert there, while magnet fishing in a canal that’s known to contain potentially lethal world war 2 weapons. The number of safes dropped into the canals is crazy. Fantastic adventure.

My husband and I are interested in doing this, we have checked out your magnets and have a question. How do you get the magnet off an item that is too big to pull out of water?

If you watch more of his videos you'll see that it's either pulling until your item comes up, your magnet slides off and if both these cases don't work; change pulling angle ie, go to the other side of your body of water or, if you can't, bring a pulley system to force your magnet back. But sometimes you lose the magnet because your rope breaks (make sure you have a rope that's many tiny ropes that is secured according to the manufacturers' guidance) or just because you can't get it lose. If I may suggest, begin with a lesser magnet. 200kg is enough to get to know what to do when it gets stuck but you can still easily get it back. Don't start with the biggest and baddest mags, that's a waste of money if you lose it. Better replace a cheaper one until you get the feel for fishing.

Have you ever considered taking ratchet straps with you or something like it when you go magnet fishing? I would think that being a wide strong strap it could be useful to look under & around anything big, heavy or just too awkward to bring up with magnets & grappling hooks alone. Also it could be useful when you have a metal fence like in this video & a few mates where you could loop it around the item, put the two ends through a really strong metal ring & let it drop down as far as possible. Then two people can take one end of the strap & pull it tight. You could wrap the ends around the metal fence pole to help hold the object in place while standing on the ends. But you could always use it to stabilise the object & help support it while taking breaks. Maybe you could even find a way to wrap the midway point of the strap with something magnetic to help it attach to the object. Anyway, just an idea. Great to see you help depollute our environment. Keep up the good work

haha. But if we think about it. Somebody steals a safe only to dump it in the water a little later? No, they would open it first empty it then throw it in the water empty. Therefore chances that you find a full safe are very slim but who knows ;)
