#Easyonme​ is not about her ex-husband as some have assumed. It is actually for her son, explaining to him why she had to give up and went with a divorce. She simply asking him to be easy on her with her decision for her own happiness despite the consequences her son may come around. It explains well in the 2nd verse. In the 2nd verse, she says "You can't deny how hard I've tried. I changed who I was to put you both first//But now I give up" You can not even tell she has had vocal surgery.

This is her asking her son to go easy on her when he is old enough to ask her why she tore their world apart and the I didn't have time to choose what I chose to do means the actual divorce it must have been something that couldn't wait at least that's how I take it. Her singing and the melisma ad libs are ridiculous. I wasn't sure how I felt about this song but this is now my tenth or so listen and it could be one of her best songs. She is just a stone cold killer.

Due to her vocal surgeries, she has trained to have a darker, heavier tone (which is easier on the vocal chords), rather than the light, open vowels she used to have. You can clock it on the SNL skit she did with her older songs, versus the studio versions. Her vowels are darker. I think it's a good change. It's like her voice getting older as well. Having more gravitas.
