The fact the Barca staff were willing to go against the doctors recommendation is insane. Why would you ever risk permanent injury in a talent like Fati? Maybe it would have played out all the same if he only had 1 recovery session but you can't help but think they turned 1 surgery into 4 by overworking it before it was ready.

That’s how horrendous the Barca physio staff have been for years. They neglected our squad. When he first came in, Xavi was shocked to see that they trained for only a fraction of what they were supposed to. And keep in mind that aguero said tried to enter the gym an hour before training and was surprised to see it was locked and none of the staff had shown up yet. Today Xavi makes staff show up 2 hours before training, before him they would show up 30 minutes before training

I think it's almost like a rashford situation. A guy because of injuries and other factors lost his confidence and is now coming back to his best because mentally and psychologically a player gets more mature. The same has to happen with fati and it might take a bit more time in my opinion. I remember pep said in an interview, every players career will never be in an upward trajectory if you put it on a graph, it goes up and peaks and comes down and then after 1 or 2 seasons it goes up again and remains at his peak potential for the reminder of the career. I think fati is now in a downward trend and he will have to grow and mature mentally, physically, just like vinicius did last season, that Transition from one of the best young talents in the world to being a young adult who is not afraid to take on responsibilities and having the confidence to do so, that is the hardest part. Let's hope fati makes that transition and recovers mentally from all his traumas because of injuries.

Ansu Fati still has plenty of time left in his career and I'm sure he will revive it, he has the talent and seems like a good kid devoted to his craft. Furthermore, myself and Ansu Fati both share the same thing (which was listed in this video) and thats having no confidence in the constantly injured area. Constantly scared of doing anything that will ruin it again leaving us out on the sidelines again. If he stays injury free I'm sure he'll be fine, he's not gonna be a world class top player like Messi but I don't think he's the next Bojan Krkic or Munir either, perhaps something in between like Pedro Rodríguez. He's so young and under a lot of pressure due to all the talk that has been going on about his potential, and his unfortunate injuries. A lot of it came from the situation the club was/is in due to the fatal management of their whole business in recent history, so they thought they could get away with handling him in ways you simply can't and shouldn't handle teenagers, especially on a world stage like this. They really pushed him so close to crashing his career it's gut-wrenching. He needs the big boys in the squad like Lewandowski, Busquets, Jordi Alba as well as Xavi and the staff to sincerely stand up for him now and show him a path forward, just like Ronaldinho did for Messi. After hyping him they way they did, the biggest mistake the club could make would be loaning him out for so-called experience. Patience, the right dosage of playing time and especially good quality communication are really the key. I feel Xavi has been keeping an eye on this. And if it takes another year, who cares. They're still in the middle of their re-build anyways, and a prime Ansu would only make them even better in the long run.

Injuries are included in player definition. Many players who had great potentials wasted majority of their career in the sidelines. Ansu Fati is a nice player and as stated in the video, majority of his struggles on the pitch recently may be more of a psychological itch for him. In a club like Barca, you are expected to deliver as soon as you step unto the pitch, regardless of your prior condition. As a Galatasaray but first Football fan it makes me sad see this Video. He is young. I saw Cristiano and Messi playing before they were 18. Ansu was like them when they where 16. So give him some time. I'm sure he will be the best player for a few years atleast! He will play 10-12 Years on top level minimum, you will see.

It’s true that we sacrifice him at striker when lewa can’t played where he can’t play to his strengths , but even his finishing is off when he get subbed on as a winger. If he can recover, he’ll be a huge help for our attack

Had the same surgery, along with other stuff destroyed in my knee. Next morning waking up from the general anesthetic/narcose, and in great mood, I met the surgeon with his several colleagues (extremelly unusual), who wanted to show me photos taken during the surgery, that showed, that my joints were half the age of me, at most, and that I were a freak of longevity, I suppose (which I already knew since long, looking like a well developed teenager, while being well over 30)... I was expecting the rehabilitation to be very fast, like with every injury I´ve had, that never left any scars or complains... What I want to say is, that althought I´ve never had such problems, and never expected to have any, the knee-surgery-rehab was still a months-long-challenge, which surprized me! I honestly considered myself "unbreakable", but I was taught, that there´s limits of what even the fastest-healing organism can afford. My motorbike- and construction-site-accidents were worse than of Fati (I had 3 different operations in my knee, all 3 done in a single session), but I cannot even imagine surviving a single Barcelona-training-session, not even in my long past, best and most fit years (I see construction work as having peaks of extreme difficulty, but in genereal, much easier than what proffesional football is)... To me, the treatment of Fati concerning the initial training after surgery, was criminal, something for which, in a normal situation (another country maybe?), many people would have landed behind bars.

Reminds me of Pietro Pellegri who was a promising youth player, got injured then fell off completely, then Monaco said that they have to be more careful with managing their youth players.

Injury.... one of the greatest enemies of talented players. Allegedly Barca has some degree of culpability with those double instead of single sessions when he was recovering from one of his many surgeries....hopefully he recovers psychologically and physically.

It is worth noting that since Xavi took over there has been a huge overhaul of the clubs medical department and the number of players getting injured while playing for Barca has reduced compared to before. That’s likely why Dembele has managed to have a decent spell without injury (until very recently) Ansu’s troubles whilst recovering which led to Reinjury were likely due to poor medical treatment that prioritized rushing him back rather than allowing his body the opportunity to fully heal. Neither valverde or koeman were good about eating injured players back. That’s probably why Dembele kept getting injured. For Ansu right now the club is getting him back on the field but without overloading him and without placing too much pressure on his shoulders. Before we can expect Ansu to get back to his phenomenal goal scoring form pre injury he must first regain his match fitness and sharpness and prove he’s t robust enough to play without getting injured again. It’s essentially building him back up rather than throwing him in the deep end after an extensive injury lay off.

The problem with a meniscus injury is that it not only has a the function of keeping teh knee stable, but also it has stretch sensors that help in coordination of movements. This cant be restored if the meniscus is replaced. This may cause an athlete to become more suceptible to other injuries because the coordination is not as good as it was.

I feel another player hard done by being compared to Messi too soon. Despite the injuries, I feel the overarching reason why he was put in these circumstance at such a young age is because the shadow cast by Messi. Messi at 19 was already considered one of the best in the world. The pressure to fill his shoes especially when he left became Fati's burden. The pressure to play every game, to perform, and to become the next Messi is such a huge pressure for any young player. The fact that he was overtrained in his recovery instead of giving him the time a young player needs to heal from a bad injury reflects how much much pressure was on him to be fully fit.
