Aoi Todo is stated to be smart despite his nature. He probably knows his limits and now that his CT is gone/if coping recovering, CT are crucial to every sorcerer so having Todo’s seeming be rendered useless, puts him at a huge disadvantage.

@@rhamnation7236 No, not really - I mean, it's several times stated that the whole "Soul Manipulation"-Thingy is only kinda countered by Yuji because he got a native understanding of the Soul due to Sukuna in him. So he's "confronted with another Soul" and so on. Normal Sorcerers don't really grasp the "Soul"-Thingy at all. Which made the Soul-Thingy so dangerously and obviously only Sukuna was on the level to actually understand it and was therefore able to hurt Mahito seriously. And later on Yuji. Yet, Todo didn't got that Chance. While it's possible, sure - maybe. But actually the whole CT of Mahito was depicted as "unreversable" and only "preventable" by a certain understanding of the Soul like Yuji did it later and Sukuna simply to "being absolutly overpowering towards Mahito".

And another binding vow that if his idol is about do do something and he's missing out, it would increase curse energy input from a regular 80% to 120%, like nanami's overtime.

Aoi Todo is imo a perfect example of an average sorcerer still being decently strong and it proves that almost anyone can be Grade 1 despite 80% of your potential being your CT. Its even implied that Todo is at Grade 1 Level without his CT. Mei Mei stated that Kusakabe is the only one getting this far without a CT besides Yuji. That means Kusakabe is AT LEAST on par with Shibuya Yuji pre Choso fight (He gets stronger in the Choso fight). Mei Mei also transformed her weak CT in a strong one but not because it had "hidden" potential but because of a binding vow. Of course she also trained her body to be at peak stats and her fighting basically only physically. What all these Grade 1 sorcerers with niche/no CT share is them being physically very strong and having a simple domain (Mei Mei in the form of Ui Ui). Sadly Grade 1 is dogshit in the culling games now and in Shibuya it was already the minimum you should be in order to have a chance to survive. So basically Pre Shibuya: Grade 1 = Strong Shibuya: Grade 1 = Average Post Shibuya: Grade 1 = Weak Yuji is probably at the top of Grade 1 and currently just suffers in the culling game.

@@FakeFaked Who? Higaruma? In terms of the important characters Reggie and Higaruma are by far the weakest. Uro, Ryu, Kurorushi, Dhruv (If we say he is at least relative to Kurorushi), Cursed Naoya, Daido, Kappa, Kashimo, Kenjaku, Sukuna, Uraume, Yuta, Maki, Hakari, Angel and Yorozu all are SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than Higaruma and Reggie. Actually a lot stronger. Yuji would have died against Higaruma and Megumi won against Reggie because he was lucky enough that a building with the right structure was in his area. Also since his domain is incomplete and thus not sure hit it also ignores Basket which is quite lucky. These 2 currently are barely in the Top 20 of strongest Culling Game players. The only ones being weaker are either randoms, Panda, Kamo, Hazunoki (The RCT Bomb guy) and the hair duo. They are really weak (If Yuji didnt get a buff, we dont know if its because Sukuna was at belown 10% for parts of the fight or because Yuji really got stronger.

@@regobing5435 I think you are underselling Yuji. Higaruma was being matched when Yuji was out of cursed energy comfortably. Had Yuji not been on the mindset he was about said the Sukuna situation, he would have been able to comfortably beat the domain, as he has not done anything to be punished for his crimes and would have mid to low diffed Higaruma. Reggie is a harder matchup, but his attacks, aside from the house and the trucks are nothing serious to Yuji. Yuji has stood up after being thrown through a building and coming through the other side. And casually throws cars at people after all. Reggie is a decent fighter but he´d have no chance against Yugi in a pure melee fight, he took the elephant so I´d give him the ability to take 3 to 5 hits from Yugi before going down. Each disabling him in some way. Healing off injuries with receipts will run out fast, and he displayed 3 receipts that actually could do enough damage to take down Yugi (House and 2 trucks) and like 5 more that could actually stop him on his tracks (The massive objects). After those run out Reggie is out of attacks that can threaten Yugi genuinely and forced to somehow outdo Yugi with small objects, CQC and weapons which will not happen. So Yugi who is smart enought to close up the distance while minding the Curse would be able to avoid them and make him run out of cursed energy in a 1v1 situation. The fodder alongside Reggie does not stand a chance against Yugi who could push through tanking attacks and overpower them taking them down slowly when he closes the distance. He´d win mid to low diff there. Uro and Ryu in my opinion are stronger than Yuji. But I don´t see them beating him easily at all. Yuji was capable of forcing Yuta to show off Rika after all (All-beit he got inmediately overwhelmed afterwards). And has displayed similar levels of durability to Yuta (All-beit without the healing) and his hits would be naturally harder hitting due to black flash (Not considering Yuta´s or Rika´s blast). So considering his insane ever forward fighting style I see him doing pretty decently against either, allbeit losing mid to high diff eventually. Yuta´s main issue on that fight was the insane amount of opponent´s attacking him at once, after already having gone through a battle. Not their power. In terms of Daido and Kappa. While they are certainly strong I think they´re especially well suited for Cursed Naoya, as he´s a speedster and both share the ability to "sense everything else" that allows them to predict his movements and pinpoint his location despite not actually seeing him. Someone like Yuji could just tank Daido´s blade (Cursed Naoya was stated to not be that durable when open) and his natural CQC skill, and superior physicality plus great durability could likely allow him to beat Kappa if they actually fought seriously (and not sumo). I don´t think Yuji could beat or match cursed Naoya though. While I agree Kashimo would win against Yuji and is stronger, Yuji might not have Hakari´s toolset, but Yuji is just that much physically superior so I don´t think It would be a breeze at all. Yuji was just eating Hakari´s hits like crazy after all while talking to him. Yuji would likely be able to just eat the punishment and counter. Again making it at least a mid diff. Maki is a less hard hitting but everywhere else considerably better Yugi so and the rest do seem to have until now stomped Yugi so there I agree there. But it still brings Yuji at beast to be middle of the pack right now. He´s above fodder and can beat the characters that are on the weaker side comfortably. Holding his own against the stronger guys still.

Gege definitely has a plan for Todo, if he’s following Kenpachi as the model remember Kenpachi dominated the soul society for centuries using only raw brawling power not until late in the series he upgraded a bit to have a sword awakening and banksia… Todo will likely utilize his domain expansion at some point showing his true strength like Kenpachi once did

Todo as a character is such a unique and enjoyable change of pace in the entire mainstream anime market. He is a meathead brawler with an intelligence in battle that rivals the biggest powerhouses. He has wisdom beyond his years and is a better teacher for Yuji in a matter of minutes to a couple hours than gojo and nanami could do in multiple months. He is lovable and respectable because he is bluntly honest and people (in universe) hate and loathe him as much as they respect and love him. When Yuji is at his lowest points, being hunted by Kyoto, the entirety of the shibuya incident. Todo comes in to not only save Yuji but also to lift him up and improve him. He is a genuine friend to Yuji even when Yuji doesn’t really want a friend. He truly treats Yuji like a little brother and is an absolute gigachad bro.

I feel like part of both Todo’s cursed technique and personality is he’s geared towards group fights. He doesn’t need good offense if he can redirect enemies toward each other and synergize with other teammates. It kind of goes along with him being smarter than he looks as well

I feel that toji was like mei mei in that he had an otherwise mid technique, but his raw offensive power was so great that he cud overlook it. Its very hard to improve upon boogie woogie, other than eliminating the need to clap, increasing the range and adding in an offensive aspect to the technique like mei mei. Imagine a boogie woodies which dumps u at preset coordinates like the prison realm, so tht u end up in a volcano or ocean or a room specifically prepared to hold reverse curse energy like the opposite of bath that sukuna dipped himself in to suppress megumi. So that if a cursed spirit enters the place its like lava and dissolves them

Todo's curse technique is actually very powerful, it shuts down everyone with a range curse technique. Choso doing Piecing Blood-> Clap-> Choso hits himself Ryu does Granite Blast-> Claps-> Ryu hits himself Sukuna does Cleave-> Claps-> Sukuna hits himself. JJk is a battle of match ups and intellect, not having offensive curse technique lets you get away with a lot of stuff. Todo would be able to swap with Sukuna and it would totally work because its not Lethal, so it can swap Sukuna and anyone. There is no defense against Boogie Woogie. Honestly, even with Megumi's domain(Incomplete) Todo would mop the floor with him.

todo has to be fast enough to react however. dont expect todo to just be able to switch in time against hollow purple or dismantle. dismantle / cleave are invisible and are much faster then todo too. ryu can just tank his own GB. etc etc

Clapping is probably easier than ducking Even if a character can tank their own technique, they would hesitate to use it against Todo. Its still very good against range techniques. Placement and positioning control is very good as it can help when you are getting jumped, like in Megumi's domain.

I kind of disagree about one thing: I think boogie-woogie does have a lot more potential that could make him effectively much faster. Imagine if he imbued a bag of idk pebbles with cursed energy and then through them around the battlefield at the start of a fight, or even imagine that some of them are sticky and can stick to oppenents or key surfaces etc.. Then he could use his technique effectively like the flying-thunder-god from Naruto. Like imagine Todo focused on speeding up how quickly he can clap his hands, and focused on fighting with his feet. He could jump around at imperceptible speeds while using his immense physical strength as an even more effective weapon. I mean yeah it wouldnt make him like the special grade sorcerers, but i still think he had a lot of untapped potential with what he has

We haven't also reached an scenario in which Todo could swap with any cursed energy manifestation. Maybe he could swap with incoming projectiles. If the crow girl was able to develop a fighting style and evolve her CT maybe Todo could do the same if he focused less on strategy and more on pure refinement.

The 120% and the actual "health bars" are two different things. Yes, Todo has 100%, Yuji has 10%, Mahito has 40% health. However, they can and often achieve their full potential and go beyond (a zenkai boost) when they are closer to death. That is the purpose. So in the end, it does not really matter much when they are closer to death. In fact, you can even argue that that is the main requirement and say that Todo's 120% is actually a weaker power up than that of Mahito and then Mahito is lower than that of Yuji. If this were not the case, how come Yuji at below 10% ended up becoming the wolf hunting a fully-evolved rabbit-Mahito? Remember that Yuji was almost killed by Choso just a few hours before their fight. So, we can say that had Todo continued fighting when he lost his arm and was force to evolve further then he'll reach even greater heights unless he already reached what Mei Mei said was the limit that every sorcerer has. However, we must also consider that Todo is still young! He can still grow and develop his domain. Of course, his potential will not likely be as deep as Megumi's or Yuji.

And at this point weve seeen multiple cases that backing both a cursed spirit and a sorcerer against the wall, just instantly activates their survival instincts and makes them even more dangerous. Gojo literally solved the theory to the universe when he was about to die lol, while Megumi figured out domain expansion, just so many cases just proves, when it comes to sorcerers and curses, if you can't one shot them you are almost better off not hitting them at all, cause if you leave them at 1 percent they will just have a life apifiniy and life check you

Feel like Todo should go full Minato mode with cursed daggers that he throws everywhere at the start of a fight and maybe some cursed stickers so his mobility would go crazy as he could appear anywhere in small battle near instantly or with a sticker directly on them when needed. Combine that with expanding Boogie woogies range and I think he could be considered a monster again, that can keep you in brawler range damn near 100% of the time.

Todo off screened with no hand, Nobara no confirmed death, Megumi in maybe limbo, Yuji some sort of claw power with no explanation of anything, Gojo offscreened, Panda foderized, pretty much all the characters that showed promise early on, are completely null and void now. It's basically just the Sukuna show with a challenger every few chapters until they die and the next challenger comes in.

Not just the fact that Todo has a supportive curse technique, but that writing wise, it's kinda overpowered, so far we have seen no limits to boogey woogey when it comes to if it works or not on the opponent, so imagine Todo just swapping around characters like Sukuna, Kenny and Gojo around, it makes no sense, either it works and it's extremely abusive or it doesn't and Todo is forever useless in end game combat, i would bet Gege saw this coming and that's why he blatantly went out of his way to even state ''My cursed technique is over'' it's not that Todo died or couldn't compete, he got written off

Understanding there’s a connection between the body and soul doesn’t equal being able to see the outline of your own soul, which would then allow you to harm Mahitos and shield your own with cursed energy. He may be able to if he realizes that’s the kind of hax he has to deal with but Mahitos durability negation is well known, his immunity to most peoples attacks isn’t. Todo likely could take the counter measures needed but I don’t think he knows enough about Mahito to realize that’s what he needs to do

Curse techniques can evolve over time or develop new strenghts due to the user's understanding of their own technique so Oogie Boogie could be buffed into something more useful later on. Swapping places is a thing, but imagine swapping conditions for example. He could swap his missing hand with someone else's, damage done to him to the opponent. Bassically the ultimate comeback CT

by kenjaku definition aoi todo wouldn't be a special grade sorcerer, but with maximum technique, reverse technique and domain expansion he would be able to fight special grades, his maximum would probably allow him to target organs and multiple targets with a single activation of boggie woggie, reverse would allow him to recover his hand in most cases, and his domain expansion granted hit may be related to space.,so something like erasing the space inside the domain might be possible

Hoenstly if he ever gets a domain, i imagine it being utterly broken. His power is teleportation, and your domain is basically whatever your signature technique is but on steroids, with whatever weaknesses it has removed. Since the limitations of his technique is that he needs something to replace with, I imagine that his domain allows him to either not need anything and just go where he wants when he wants, or he can just spawn random objects at will to swap places with. Basically making him untouchable unless you have some big AOE move, also allowing him to get on you whenever he needs to

Not everyone is meant to be offensive. Most of the Kyoto students are Intel, Sentinel, or Defensive. I think not everyone needs to be offensive, Takaba has a really OP CT but its a non lethal CT. We often get lost in the sauce because we are watching the best but, not everyone is meant to have Domain Expansions.. Culling game are the best sorcerers of the past incarnated to the present, also modern talent. The reality is, Todo is average among special people. Megumi have genes, Yuji is an experiment, his teacher is like 1/5 special grades. He might have a comeback, we will see.

I think the new revelation of technique usage shows todo’s ct can be upgraded. If it’s just output he could switch bigger things or from farther away. He could Oxus on curse energy control and switch people with there ct attacks. Or simply he could upgrade by not switching and just teleporting. Todo has options.

I think it’s also good to mention how Hakari also doesn’t have any offensive cursed techniques. However, his domain expansion perfectly makes up for that but giving unlimited cursed energy and healing. The only technique Hakari uses besides this is sliding doors. He also is physically much stronger than Todo.

I'm honestly fine with Todo and the role he played when he was active. I see him as a character who had already achieved his peak like the dude could beat a grade 1 with just hands, which is already pretty great for any sorcerer. I see him, nanami, nobara and Mei mei as the pinnacle of what a person can achieve with a decent cursed technique and no domain expansion. With that its not surprising to me that all them basically take a back seat after Shibuya. Todo was basically just a normal guy. He's not from a famous clan, he doesn't have a super busted technique, doesn't have a special case, etc. I even like his ability because while its kinda weak 1 on 1, if he's outnumbered or if his opponent is outnumbered, its becomes something clutch because positioning is super important in any fight and todo being able to easily manipulate that with basically no caveats is super broken. Maybe he will come back after getting his hand back or something for a team battle but I'm perfectly fine with him not being an active part in the story.

If Aoi todo was given an domain expansion, I bet it would have been one that applied an sure hit to everything inside the domain besides the target. With the sure hit being one that gave everything it touches curse energy allowing todo to teleport himself and/or his target anywhere in the domain to both disorientate and potentially incapacitate by dropping them from an high place or teleporting them inside an wall till they suffocate, etc. As well as, since the human body is counted by the author to work similarly to an domain, todo could have his domain do the “clapping” by just thinking it. Both bypassing the lost of his hand as well as removing any tell for the target to know when their gonna be teleported.

Yeah, yuji threw a car at Yuta I believe, and collapsed a building with a jump to swing on sukuna once he took over megumi In the goodwill arc, megumi said that if they all fought Yuji without CE, yuji would beat them, and maki noted this is AFTER he met todo

Agree, his tecnique it's a support one, he's blasting people out of Schoolyards because he's a freaking lunátic who fights with the body of a strongman that someone teached MMA. (Said with nothing but love) But all that lands him at highlevels it's the ability to keep up with the Main guys, and do that insane switching manuver, wich is awesome don't get me wrong, but makes him weaker solo; he's a multiplier that could amp the power of a team battle. But a normal Sorcerer with that technique it's a battle planear, that switches positions arround and rescues key allies. That's why he's so awesome, he managed to reach that level with the equivalent of a support kit. That being said he needs to get some cursed tools ASAP as posible, por sooner.

The only reason their fight against mahito dragged on was because toudou’s attacks dealt no damage to the soul directly, regardless of how powerful they were.

My wish is for Todo to mark his reappearance with a clutch save of another character. He could switch two enemies and cause them to get a chunk of them blown off, then switch with that body part. Then the wounded enemy gets ready to fight him but they're suddenly struck by Resonance, reintroducing Nobara in the same breath. Just my own little bit of hopium wish fulfillment for two of my favs who've been left in the dust...

If I could give todo a domain expansion, I’d call it Boogi Wonderland and make it so that he doesn’t have to clap his hands to teleport someone, instead he can do it freely back and forth without having to switch places. I can see todo becoming relevant combat wise again if he somehow gets yukis shikigami. It probably doesn’t make sense for it to exist still but it would be so sick wrapping itself around todo and switching from prosthetic arm to cursed tool. He was my favorite character. I thought he would've gotten more time in the movie that dropped. Instead he got what was basically a cameo. & I'm not sure but didn't he get his hand cut off. I always had that in mind when he started to go missing. Maybe he just said peace✌️out & found a retirement home somewhere. That was something Yugi had a chance to do after getting superman punched into the future where/when he was stronger.

I want Todo to just show up to battle with the dawgs out, state "I've been squatting," and start clapping with his feet and kicking black flashes like no one's business. That's his development, squatting made him more powerful and able to channel boogie woogie through his feet.

Todo could potentially just use Boogie Woogie to teleport local debris and weapons -into- his foes by swapping innards with stationary objects. Domain expansion would be instantaneous precision swaps allowing him to mangle and disfigure foes by swapping limb locations or swapping with the environment. It could be used to place curse weapons inside holes created in foes by something being left in the holes to swap. It has a lot of potential to a creative mind.
