What happened to Apex Legends Mobile? (and how it killed EA's Mobile Division)

From its initial release in May of 2022 to its inevitable demise less than a year later, the tragedy of Apex Legends Mobile has never been more important than it is today.

This game has a special place for me. I had ended up in a hospital during its launch. I was there for almost half a year. I was really down and asked my family to bring me my iPad. I remember downloading Apex Mobile and spending hours on it!! It was the small amount of fun I had while stuck in the hospital. I did fully recover and eventually stopped playing Apex Mobile all together but it got me into the console game. I can say that Apex Mobile was good but needed polish. Hopefully it returns.

The biggest issue i faced in this game was hacker. As i go higher rank i was facing hacker in every lobby its was horrendous. And its not just 1 or 2 haker there were many in just 1 lobby. And even i have the high end device game doesn't feel optimized at all. It didn't feel smooth as codm and pubg. The frame show 60 fps but did feel like 60 fps. I hope it come back in future.

The biggest problem i think was Draw Distance of a map. They were abnormal and the moment u get knocked, next thing the enemy was at your doorstep. Map wasn't same as pc like stretched out ! And lastly the optimisation, bugs and the support of Controller which messed the game up pretty bad. Let's not forget the hackers. I miss caustic ❤

Codm has a server for the Oceania region where people from Aus, NZ, Fiji, and PNG can play together. Apex didn't give us that. Instead, they connected us to the Asian servers and expected us to play with ping of 700ms. There was too much lag, and it was impossible to defeat Asian server players who had a huge advantage.

Apex moblie was overhyped very boring and characters were ugly . So lil maps. They must stay in pc moblie is not for them even codm is better and codm only has bots 😂.

Its also important to take into consideration that the mobile version was very disconnected from apex on other platforms, and even despiced. The main reason being that for pc and consol it felt like they were being screwed over for a mobile version of the game getting features the players had been dreaming of and begging for while at the time the game wasnt at its peak for said platforms (even having content droughts). For example getting unique legends who would never be released or made for the other platforms felt like you were getting the short end of the stick, when you might have been one of the first to play the game and helped make it a thing in the first place. Thus the mobile port had no sympathy or care from the other platforms who saw it as just a cash grab to make as much money as possible from the mobile market, while also dumping reaources into it that were taken away from your game. If things had been different and they had announced these for the main platforms as well, even if it were eventually, Im sure that the player base could have been more connected and unified. Shame.

9:50 oh buddy i can tell you this is just a feature that is already present in apex console. I play maybe 30 hours a month so despite my experience in the game im stuck in bronze from inactivity. It doesnt stop me from constantly getting 3 stacked from diamonds/master/preds. In bronze 2 lobbies I do miss mobile, was able to play it more often

I hope Warzone Mobile doesn’t Follow the same route. It’s Gonna be global in a week.and even though I have been playing it for awhile already, I’m worried. Apex Mobile was as close to perfect As possible. They were making tons of money Always adding new stuff. And and somehow it was still Doomed

I enjoyed playing it alot ,the best game i have ever experienced on mobile but i struggle defeating actual enemies because the ping was always so high ,there no servers ,they would kill me in an instant
