Boogie Ellis is overrated, and found out college basketball is different than his high school & AAU games. Some of these college coaches knows how to instruct their players to attack Boogie Ellis weaknesses. Boogie Ellis have a long way to prove he can be rotation bench player on an NBA team with the way he played for his freshmen year. Some of these top High School prospect talent are so immense that they don't have to think and make adjustments when they are playing in high school or AAU. In college game there are few coaches with large coaching staff who know how to coach the players on their roster, have a scouting staff to look for weaknesses, and are able to come up with game plan & adjustments to stop or slow down players. That is the mental side where some high school prospects are not ready for. In the NBA and Euro League everybody talented, and mental part of the game is so important.
@jamarrice36554 жыл бұрын
Not everyone is one and done . He will be alright especially is he reads these comments for extra motivation . Best thing about being young is you can make adjustments. Anybody who clearly watched college basketball would have seen that Memphis was built to be James Wiseman team with about of other 5 stars. He played good defense and distributed the ball very well. Strong sophomore season coming up. Just stay in the gym and get you mind right

This aged well lmao he cooked everyone in San Diego from the age 10 all the way through highschool as a senior, maybe he didn’t create a ton of noise at Memphis but look what he’s doing now at USC, this guy is the ultimate competitor and shoots the piss out of the ball, lottery pick for sure this guy will be a star, I remember him absolutely cooking my aau teams from 6th-8th grade

I’ve watched many of your videos like this one and you are one of the many reason college basketball sucks right now. You and so many others, look at this “Star Rankings” as the Bible. At the end of the day, these are kids..... 18 and 19 year old kids. Who have some much pressure on them. Many of them are a “way out” for their families and friends. So what they have a subpar or bad freshman year? That’s why the college basketball tenure is 4 to 5 years. Hell most of the Greats, played 3 to 4 years of college basketball. Even in most of your commentary you end up saying “I don’t know why”? Have you personally spoke to ANY of these kids, the ones you get views off of??? I doubt it... But yeah... At least you will always have content. Because there will always be at least 5 or 6 KIDS that will not live up to their ranking during their 1st year of college... SMH....

No one said he was one and done. Where is this information coming from? He was actually a late bloomer and did not dominate in high school. He excelled in AAU summer ball circuit and was really good shooting the ball.

Too bad he wasn't able to join NBTC last year (2019). With him, Brandon Wilson, Charleston Moore, Jeron Artest, Kai Ballungay and of course, Jalen Green, the US Fil-Am team could have beaten San Beda and advance to Final Four back to back. And who knows, maybe into the Finals for the first time?
@pettymurphy22434 жыл бұрын
People keep bringing up Tre Jones coming back and starting over him... buuuuuttttt... looking at what he did in Memphis did he deserve Tre Jones position? Even if he stayed at Duke, he would've competed day in and day out and gotten better, split minutes with Tre, and actually LEARNED the position with a top head coach (I love Penny coaching but he's less experienced than coach K especially with developing players. Penny needs time as well). With Ellis, he just needs to focus, get in the gym and bounce back. Matt wasn't hating Ellis, he just gave the truth and facts. For the sensitive people on here who's never been pushed before, he'll be fine... he just needs to adjust and get back on track.
