I had a Jennings jersey and everything. And me being a Chicago fan, I would watch him play anytime we went up against Milwaukee. Its crazy how fast his career changed. He was inefficient, but that could have gotten better with experience. I think it was the Achilles injury that was the writing on the wall

the injury happened when he was with the pistons. hes been mediocre ever since his days in milwaukee. its not like dude was a star before the injury. i loved when the bucks traded him away for brandon knight. i liked brandon knight too, i was disappointed when they traded him away for mcw.

Jennings had more pro years in the NBA than I ever did and he was exciting as hell to watch and early on he was one of the best guards in the NBA. Dont forget that guard is the deepest, most talented, most athletic position in the league. He deserves some serious respect.

Jennings was always one of my favorite players to watch a couple years back as a Knicks fan I was so excited when we signed him last year honestly he is still a solid playmaker but the triangle the Knicks ran (which everyone hated) drove BJ out I do hope he comes back to the league he’s still young
@Longsen7 жыл бұрын
As a Bucks fan, I watched his first 4 years closely. Imo, for a rookie he had a amazing year, even though he was a little inconsistent, it was forgivable since he was young. A few of his flaws was that he couldn't use his right hand to finish & shot chucking. Year after year, he just never got better, never improved, he stayed the same. His ppg went up a little, but that's because he started taking more shots. From then to even now, he still can't finish using his right hand & whenever he does (which is rare), it looks like a awkward layup. People claim his best years were in Detroit, I disagree. Go look at his game logs for those 2 years, it's very inconsistent also. He had a great stint before getting hurt which you mentioned, & that's why people think he had his best days in Detroit because that's what they remember. He actually had a even better stretch his first year in Detroit, 23ppg & 7ast in 13 games, but no one mentions that one, I'm guessing it gets overlooked because the 24pts & 21ast game during the stretch you mentioned. I think if he was really that good, he would've gotten Detroit to the Playoffs, they had 2 good big's in Monroe & Drummond. A good PG would've been killin it with those guys. I expected him to do good there because of Monroe & Drummond. I think Jenning's best & most impactful year might've been his rookie year, he led us to the Playoffs as a rookie! He showed a lot of poise, leadership, & potential that year, had Bucks fans thinking we had the next big thing. We almost upset the Hawks, took them to 7 games, if Bogut wasn't injured, we might've won!

Aaron Judgement Yes, it was definitely time for a new era. Jennings was never gonna get us anywhere but mediocre at best. But I do thank him a bit, because by trading him we got Khris Middleton & we also got Giannis the same Summer Jennings left. Lol

well now we know we got the next big thing in giannis. Funny how Jennings is like the complete opposite of giannis both had potential but giannis took it seriously and got better while Jennings didn't and partied and did drugs while only getting worst while being a horrible leader.

I think a shoot first PG like Jennings just doesn't last long in the NBA, he takes too many bad shots. All the shoot first PG's are top notch players, Kyrie, Westbrook, Lillard, Curry, etc. Jenning's just isn't on that level, so if he's gonna shoot like he is, then he's not the type of player teams would want. He plays his game & his game only, he doesn't play within the team's system, it reminds me of streetball.

Being a resident of Milwaukee, bucks fan, and season ticket holder, I can confidently say he was also a victim of never getting calls when he drove to the rim. This hurt his scoring, shooting percentage, and view from others as inefficient. Don’t get me wrong. He wasn’t all world but much better than a box score will tell you. He also played with players who underachieved except for a contract year (John salmons). Those players were dead weight to a small pg who had to score.

The modern NBA has basically killed inefficient ball dominant guards and slow centers who can’t play defense away from the basket. Jennings really did get screwed by injuries but his style of play was on the out when he was coming into the league.
