This episode was always just like ugh Chef is denial, owner knows nothing as demonstrated by “give me the grass” and his lease arrangements. Like you just knew,gosh this is going to end badly! I would *never* go to a place called D-Place unless I heard from word of mouth that it was a good restaurant. It sounds waaaay too much like something else. I think they meant it to be like 'Da Place' which would have been fine. 'Clever' places like that don't really work though. Seen a few like "That Cafe" and so on.

I wrote a first comment in which i said that i felt Sorry for the chef but now i must Say that the fact that he lied about the fried potatoes left me at a loss for words: why would lie about It? Say that the oven Is not properly working and that you came out with an alternative! French speaker here. Just say maître d'hôtel. Gordon sounds goofy af when he pronounces d' as "dee". d is "day" in French. Also, it's not a thing any French speaker would even think to do because it's "doh" when linked with "hôtel". Nobody says d' lmao
