the interactions with Herve was funny as hell, imo the best parts in the episode as well as the progress Zac/Zach/Zack shows when ramsey returns after a while and he's able to recite what he struggled with when he was first there

This is such a brilliant episode, one of the first I ever saw. I love Kitchen Nightmares but the vibe of this one is so much better than the later years where Gordon seemed to be dialling it in and playing a part. Moore Place had some amazing characters, and Zac's moment asking them if they wanted fresh water was a highlight. It's great to see Herve had success, the banter between him and Gordon was great, and we don't see that enough in other episodes.

The owners sold the business in 2006. And the building itself was demolished in 2011, and an old folks home was built on the site.

Love it when obnoxious locals refuse to patronize a local business, part of a historical site. Then complain about it when it starts to turn a profit. When it loses money and the owners don't want to end up living in cardboard boxes, so they find a way to keep the historical building in place while selling to become much needed apartments.... The locals complain, again! And not only complain, but take action to block the sale! Absolutely disgusting behavior! Honestly, those locals got what they deserved! Actual historic building, gone! Replaced by one that shares the same name, but each and every single one of those locals knows is not the same historic place. Oh, and the golf course that so many of them enjoyed? Also gone! Karma is a *B.*

What are you talking about? The apartments would also have resulted in the original building being knocked down.

@thecrispymaster Wrong! They would have converted the interior rooms into different apartment units. Would have been easy to do so since the building originally started out as a private residence. Such large mansions are easy to convert into apartments. Ask any contractor who has done such a conversion. You obviously don't work in the Trades.

1:20 never ever ever put food or drink in a restaurant plant! I’m not a fan of Gordon’s personality, so I’m not shocked, but that was disgusting behavior. Even in a failing restaurant of that size, someone comes in and cares for the plants. They cost money. Even if you think it’s funny to kill plants, just to be destructive, like Gordo, it’s extremely disrespectful to the plant techs & their job. Don’t be a Gordon! 🪴🙂♥️🪴
