Kimberly Nicole - They take huge hiatus period to comeback, first time it happened was during their rookies years, like they debuted in 8th April of 2012, but their first comeback was in June of 2013, 14 months after their debut. It’s not common to happen in rookies groups, usually rookies groups do two or three comebacks in a year. EXO had another long hiatus later in their career, 16 months. In general EXO had three over-than-year-hiatus in their career. And when they do comeback, it’s for only one or two weeks of promotions in music shows, they barely go to radio interviews, variety shows, or any kind of promotions. They just make long tours, they tour for months non stop.

I'm an exo L for 5 years until now. We eggs are really lazy when it comes to streaming and voting (i guess?) But we make sure every MV will pass 100m and that's enough for us, we're not like other fandoms whose only basing their idols talent by views. We are not like that. Hundred million is enough. Because we don't actually base our idols 'exo' by views. We don't care about the fame. Exo receives awards. They can stand on being legendary nn their own unique way even without a global promotions, from west etc. They can won awards or be nominated on award shows without having a comeback. They are setting records not only as a group but as a solo artist too. Baekhyun, D.o, Kai, Suho, Sehun, chanyeol, and lay in china. For me they are still kpop's power house, without exo kpop is boring. Maybe they are not as famous as they were before... but you can't change the fact that this boygroup still have a big impact even from the beginning of their career until now. Good video, but I feel like there are some points you missed. - EXO wasn't struggling, but Growl is when the group really shot up there with it being their first legitimate hit song in Korea. Mama and Wolf had really mixed reactions. - Also, I think you should have mentioned THAAD as it is the reason Koreans no longer promote in China so EXO's concept doesn't really work anymore. Also, it is why Lay hasn't promoted with the group since 2016. All the comebacks since Kokobop have been without him. - EXO could have had more potential, but SM initially focused on only Korea and China. This definitely fell through with China limiting Korean content. And other than a few concerts, SM never promoted them in the west.

And China hated this and banned everything that had anything to do with Korea in their country. And this affected EXO the most. Other Chinese idols who debut in Korea weren't much recognized in China, so that was no problem. But Lay is Hunan communist youth league ambassador in China. The Chinese want Lay to support and be loyal to China. So he can't promote in Korea together with EXO.

Exo was promoting in china and Korea, but their songs caught attention worldwide during Call Me Baby and other songs. They were an existing group that was getting attention for their already existing song. SuperM was a group that was made to target the western audience, but Jopping didn't do it to the capacity Exo's other songs did. SuperM did well, but probably not as well as SM wanted them to do. Also in 2019, there were a lot more kpop groups promoting in the west compared to 2015 when there were very few, so Exo would've entered the worldwide industry with more intrigue to them.

It's been five years since I got into EXO. I love them so much and I disagree with the idea that they are losing popularity (I mean Obession sold 800k albums with only 6 members!!!! and if they had a repackaged album, they would have become another million-seller easily). I think they just hit a plateau, that's all. Buttttt tbh( and let's not kid ourselves), their golden years were in 2013-2016 when they were basically untouchable in basically everything. But all good things eventually come to an end( though not yet for EXO). It's a cycle that always happens and it will eventually happen to every famous group rn. EXO can't be #1 forever, unfortunately :((((( . However, I will say that they have already established themselves as LEGENDS and artists of the kpop community. The members themselves have also said they have won enough awards and daesangs( though they still deserve our insurmountable support). They have pretty much won every award and soooo many wins. They have already branched out in their solo careers in which they are doing amazing!!! The members are also going to the military already. Stanning them has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and their journey together has been amazing. So when the day comes, I wish all of them the best and I will always be an EXO-L💕 and I hope every EXO-L who reads them continues to love them as well :)))

I came from 2021, EXO still the STANDARD. No matter how much charts, awards, views ,and popularity has changed over time, THEY ARE STILL REFERENCE IN KPOP. Even in hiatus, after all the bs they've faced, when half of them are in the sm, THEY still selling 1M albums without promotion. Gaining fans as they were rookies. In everyone's mouths 24/7. Being models, actors, lyricist, producers, musical actors, fashion ambassadors, and the list go on. EXO will never be the 'flop' group that the kpop industry wants to be. STAN EXO.

Man.. they are the best vocal group KPop ever had. Chen is a world class singer, Baekhyun is one of the most powerful voices ever in kpop, and despite that, people consider D.O as the best pitched voice and the one who fits most EXO songs the best. Then there is LuHan, who left but was considered the 4th main vocal, and Suho, who has the most angelic (or opera) voice, and let me mention Chanyeol too who has a rockstarish voice-check out his cover of Creep.

EXO is probably the most versatile boy group you'll ever meet. They thrive in solo activities, they thrive in acting, modeling. They have out of this world vocals, absolutely amazing dancers and beautiful personalities. They've done so much for Kpop and each time people discredit them, it breaks my heart. there may be groups that are more popular now, but EXO has still stayed relevant despite members on military and the group on hiatus. EXO is EXO. For me, they are incomparable to other groups. They may be overcoming the records set by EXO. But EXO is the standard. I honestly tried to check out other groups but EXO set the bar so high i cant even stan other groups. They have been consistent since debut and what makes them even better is that despite being popular they keep improving no matter what. They prove that with their live performances and abilities of the members to compose songs that make it into their albums. Exo was the group who got me into Kpop and although I like other groups they’re still my number 1 along with SHINee.

Only 18 people attended their first fan meeting. They were made fun of and were demanded to disband. They faced a lot of hate even before they debuted. They lost their most famous members. They were again called to disband. They faced dating scandles physally attacked by laser beam but still they rose strongly and became first million sellee kpop group. When you come from big company you are facing more expectations too so more pressure. And don't worry army are not behind in rediculing exo. They are not considered worst fandom of kpop for nothing. And thank God that bts came from small company otherwise they wo have been receiving same worst treatment as exo is receiving nowadays
