@@g6ixwayne363 Actually, the Chelsea moved makes sense. Torres was really struggling in the World Cup (almost cause Spain the title if not for Villa turning up) and the first half of the 2010-11 season with Liverpool. Typically when players are struggling they need to move and find new surroundings to give them fresh motivations and hopefully make everything right again. Chelsea came calling and Liverpool, Torres took the chance.Unfortunately, Torres was really done for at that stage of his career. That's why I don't understand when others said that Chelsea ruined his career, Torres was done early at Liverpool....

@@edgarpanganiban9339 new Surroundings after a big injury are not good because when you are coming from an injury you need your teamates to support you, not to be competing for starting places. Moving to Chelsea did kill his career big time, he played in a system that was built for Drogba of long balls and Chelsea went on to bring in a lot of new players who were more concerned about proving themself as new Chelsea stars rather than helping Torres get back to his best. The Chelsea move did not help at all.

Вадим Курнушкинов But that’s still a very shallow way of viewing what’s considered a career to proud of if you’re valuing trophies won by you and those around you + money made over actual contribution and quality performances on the pitch. Torres was a great player and definitely had natural footballing ability, but you’d be flat out lying to say that his career was a success. It’s the complete opposite and he had one of football’s saddest downfalls after leaving Liverpool.

You were so humble with your finishing words in his praise.. Got me really emotional. Torres was perhaps my most favorite player growing up! I started following Atletico for him and have still stuck around them.. Though I wasn't really a Liverpool or Chelsea fan he got me following him around everywhere.. Also I remember scoring a ton of goals with him on FIFA 😎

Aside from the knee injury, there were other factors as to why Torres’s production in Chelsea dipped. 1. The fans pressed management into not playing him and they made it very clear they were not happy with him. This clearly effected his confidence at the club. (IE the miss vs Man United) 2. A loooot of bad luck. His shooting stats didn’t dip at all when he got to Chelsea. He just couldn’t stop hitting the post or barely miss. There was one play where Torres got off a perfect bicycle kick; that beautiful play was robbed when it hit the post and Lampard tapped in the rebound. 3. Chelsea’s lack of faith in him led to the team not wanting to provide to him as much. Refusing to let him take penalties, less touches of the ball, refusing to give him the ball when he made great runs. That would frustrate anybody. It broke my heart as a football fan watching his prime years whither away.

I was hiking El Camino de Santiago in Spain when Torres scored the goal to win the Euro cup in 2008. It was totally amazing being with spainards and having that amazing feeling. El Nino really demonstrated his prowess and ability. He was one of my favorite players and had great skill. He was incredibly persistent and would not quit. He had a drive in the box that was phenomenal. He was hungry and a great team player.

When Chelsea signed him i kinda thought that his career was not taking the best path. Some great players didnt had the best time playing for Chelsea. Torres was and still is one of my favorites, mainly because of his play style. Also we have the same surname. We can say for sure that he should stay at Anfield.

Barcelona were all over Chelsea before Ramirez scored - also down to 10 men, not to mention they were going out hence they needed to attack which in turn would have given Barca even more space to do further damage. The goal by Ramirez allowed Chelsea to park the bus; which pushed Barca completely forward leading to Torres' goal.

The same thing happened to Owen, he was always rushed back because Liverpool needed him never letting he injured heal, honestly I think if Torres let his knee heal before the World Cup he would have been ok but I think since then he’s been playing at about 70%. As a Liverpool, fan I loved watching him and gerrard play it was special I hated that he left but after I saw what he became i was glad we cashed in when we did. He will always be a Liverpool legend because of the belief he brought to the club not many seasons for us but what a few seasons they were.

Nothing happened!!! , this is life , rarely in life a person or a group of people or a team reaches the peak and stays there , it happens to everyone: musicians ,actors , movie directors, athletes, normal people,etc.... people reach a high level for a period of time because of different factors such as: Luck,The mood of that time,Being in a perfect mood to perform the right thing at the right time, Etc... then people just become ordinary again, Metallica in 1986 are not the same as today, John Williams dose not compose music as he used to in the 80's, Steven Spielberg dose not make movies as he used to, Barcelona are not playing the same they used to play in 2009-2011 Maradona in 1986 is not the same as he was in 1990 Mercedes Benz don't create cars as good as they used to in the 60's ,70's,80's,90's, This is Life Torres played in the highest level of football for more than a decade, and he helped his teams locally and internationally to win great honors, he always took care of his body as he was always fit physically and he always did what he should do as a player to play, he trained he exercised , he put blood sweat and tears in the pitch and of it, He won several major trophies such as: -World Cup -2 Euros(Scoring in two finals) -Champions League -2 Europa League -Cup with Chelsea I hate this Americanizing of things where everything is measured in numbers, sure numbers show some aspects of what a player dose on the pitch but it is not everything, but you can put all the stats and numbers in the world but it will compare to nothing in regards in winning the world cup and 2 euros and Torres has done that Torres carved his name in football history in the moment he scored the 2008 Euro winning goal in the final and he will always be remembered for that as far as football legacy Torres has done well.
