I'm a huge LG fan and I did go see the Farewell Tour when they came to my area. I was actually surprised to hear LG in an interview admit that Mick made him a better singer (not in so many words). But he did give much kudos to Mick for helping him shape the way he sang some of the songs.

Every band member in early Foreigner was OUTSTANDING!!. The drummer even played with a smile! The sax player was insanely good! I loved the performance of the tall blonde guitarist too!. Of course Lou's singing with so much feeling & facial expressions, was out of this world! Amazing band early Foreigner. They really rocked my world!

For the first 4 albums, yes. Then (in '84) Mick Jones turned them into Journey. Not knocking Journey, a lot of people love them (I'm not one) but that's fine. If the crybaby-gospel "I Want to Know..." had been by Journey, I still would have hated it, but could accept it because that's what they do. Foreigner lost MILLIONS of fans permanently, never to get them back, and they were never the same. I still LOVE the first four albums and totally separate early Foreigner from 1984 onward. Mick Jones destroyed the group. Lou Gramm hated singing the above mentioned. I have a Foreigner tribute band I LOVE, and they will not sing it. So when you say a 'great band', you have to specify. It's not like the Beatles of the Eagles where you can make that statement.

And amazingly, a lot of rock fans don't know who they are, until one sings a few lyrics of one of their songs. I've had this repeatedly happen and don't understand why. Wow ! You missed the dismissal of 2 members before the recording of the "4" album, the animosity caused by the songwriting credits on "I want to know what love is" between Gramm and Jones, the fact that Jones didn't produce a song for Van Halen, he was brought in for the whole 5150 album, Gramm's solo album "Ready or not" was released in early '87 and Foreigner's "Inside Information" was released in the fall of '87 so they didn't compete with each other and both were successful albeit not as successful as hoped! Also, you failed to mention that when Lou Gramm released his 2nd solo album, Mick Jones also released a solo album around the same time featuring the single " Just wanna hold" . So do better research next time or talk to a Foreigner fan and lastly you completely omitted the fact that 2009's "Can't slow down" was sung by new vocalist Kelly Hansen, ex vocalist of Hurricane! Nice job of your retrospective!!

This is how the internet is dumbing people down. You get someone who can't be bothered to do research, such as this genius, then posts a video with incorrect information. People who don't know any better eat it up and believe they learned something. The only lesson to take away from this is to never believe anything you see on the internet. Do your own research if you want to learn anything. Or don't and be a dumba$$, I don't care. It's your life.

Shadow King should've been a new chapter for Gramm and the band going into the 90s. Lou returning to Foreigner in 1992 was a business decision that backfired (1) Atlantic pulled the plug on Shadow King after one concert to force Lou back in Foreigner. (2) Lou really was never going to get past "I want to know what love is " (3) Atlantic records dropped Foreigner from the label for good after the compilation release of 1992s "FOREIGNER BEST and BEYOND (3) 1994s, Mr.Moonlight ( non Atlantic)Lous new full album and his last Foreigner album ever bombed and charted far worse than Unusual Heat Foreigners 1991 album with Johnny Edwards.

The BULLET was fired the second Mick decided to screw Lou out of song writing credits for all his work on "I want to know what Love is". When Mick did that, it set in motion a series of events that assured the end of Foreigner. Also, Micks desire to make more keyboard songs really shifted the bands focus and caused confusion and alienation among the bands members. The same thing happened to REO Speedwagon. All the hits were sappy ballads. Nothing wrong with ballads but it really puts you in a box, like what happened to Journey.

Bruce Turgon. Not...'Bryan Turgon'. I was in a band with him early 80's... briefly in Sacramento called, White Lies'. Bruce ended up in Steve Steven's Atomic Playboys, Warrior ( MCA records) before that...and, in the 90's....Did join Foreigner replacing Wills on Bass. Guy lives in Redding, CA now. Where i also grew up and lived in the 70's.
