it is, because it would make a difference only if you have a bad pc. I used to play on pc that did 40 fps on average in season 3 ch1 , If i used the dark voyager backbling it wouldve run at 20 fps ((I did test it), So that would be ok. But we have to consider that today that difference isnt there anymore, the map alone asks for a lot of computing power and if you cant load the map certainly you your backbling will make your performance drop but if you can load the map (which is why the game is playable) than a backbling cant make the difference

I miss everyone using backblings. Made cosmetics way more fun and exiting with a lot more variety in what you would see people using with some really cool and wacky setups. I think Fortnite do often design skins to look good without backblings these days leading backblings to look out of place on a lot of skins. I also think people just hate skins to feel clunky in any way these days and backblings just kinda feel that way especially when there is not many people really wearing them. I do still wear backblings but I often choose not to and if I do I tend to use one that's minimal/small.

Yo here’s my list on how to make prime Fortnite hope this reaches you. 1: replace zero build playlists with no turbo build. 2: remove bots give an option for bot lobbies in settings. Give sbmm for non bot lobbies. 3: make community driven poi’s, guns, skins, and more. 4: SHADERS, similar to Minecraft allowing community shaders in everything expect competitive playlists allowing for everyone to have a unique and beautiful experience. Will be in the main graphics settings area where you can find and use shaders. 5: reduce the size of the item shop and cycle items out daily. 6: bring back rarity. 7 make community polls.

A lot of newer backblings aren’t actual backpacks, or are just too specific in their design (a general problem for a lot of cosmetics these days). I’m a big fan of older backblings like the raptor satchel, pursuit, the buckled bundle, and other solid back blings of the early Fortnite days. There’s also a bunch of really good backblings tied to STW heroes that, despite them having BR skin equivalents, said skins don’t come with their hero’s back bling (or edit styles, but that’s kind of another topic), and I’d like to see them add those back blings to BR to be bundled with their corresponding skins.

Yeah some backblings really are too conplicated. I like simple ones like spectral spine or some orb type ones or katanas. Most of them nowadays are hard to even describe what the backbling represents. Raptor satchel is great too, ceeday classic

Two major issues I've noted with them are just that, they're either too specific or are just a prop on your back(like the fallout boy bobblehead). I usually stick to character specific backblings but have made breaks for others like Super Shredders Cape on RTL for example, or Ghost Rider's backbling on Inferno.

Og (season X and before) skins or skins with that strap around their shoulders and back look good with backblings and most og backblings still look good but a lot of new backbling have that weird lil space between the backbling and skin and it looks weird

Another good point you missed was how certain back blings may affect ADS. I had a lot of sweaty friends where they didn't use back blings ever because it lowered what you could see when aiming.

Something I like about fortnite is the character customization. Back blings can add so much to a skin if you match them. If I'm playing ranked, then I'll rock no back bling, but most of the time, I rock back blings cause I don't care about 1 fps.

Ever since capes were introduced like the visitor’s in S4 and Ragnarok’s in S5, I’ve just worn capes most of the time 😭 It genuinely looks the best on ANY skin imo and doesn’t take up much screen space. Also the black wings from either S6 or S7 are WICKED on skins with dark outfits

I don't agree that competitive mindset is the only way to play BR and I think totally the opposite. I use backbling when I like how the look in the skin and most of the players I meet and play with usually have one. Probably in competitive scene they are not trending but in the game itself I don't see much change... Although I don't understood how people can combine the xenomorph with other backbling different than its own.

I've observed quite the opposite, nearly everyone that I see has back bling on, I may have only met one person ever playing the game that just specifically never uses them but I disagree, I think people more often than not try to come up with interesting visual combos incorporating their back into it as often as possible. I don't think I've ever played the game without a back bling on personally.

They also fucked up the animations on them for example the capes use to be cool with retakes and shit but now if you rock a cape and your doing 360 retakes or waterfalling the cape takes over your whole character/screen making it hard to use if u play 1v1 build battls or zonewars also the wings be moving way too much like when you jump or crouch the wings open and closes which low-key distracts you where as before the wings use to never move and the would stay put.

For me, it just depends on the skin. Some skins are good with certain backblings and others not so much. Didn't know that it started not being a huge thing anymore. Kind of sucks that they stopped doing pets a long time ago, I would have liked to get my hands on a few but I only have one (Empress). I know they tried doing it somewhat with Rubis' cat backbling and Tomoki & Katana for Kendo in the battle pass (idk if that one really counts), but it just doesn't hit it right. Not to me anyways.

the only backbling i use nowadays is just the black knight shield. it’s the only one to me that has stayed true. cape physics have completely changed in the newer times. best example being the batman cape from season X, which used to literally wrap around your characters back and show so much physics, and now it just moves weird and ugly. i compare it to burnt cheese. same goes for love wings, used to be my favorite back bling of all time until they decided to add physics to it in chapter 2, which no one seems to talk about at all and i wish it did. it completely ruined the back bling as the animations are horrible, and make no sense nonetheless, as they are stone wings.

It's not really even a "what happened to backblings" question, the immense set of options we have today just make them unimportant. They don't really have an impact and were just early cosmetic options. Backblings would be worthwhile if items didn't replace them mid-match, if they were actually interesting to look at and if they had more fun functionality. There's only a few reactives that I'd call worthwhile. I really don't feel like they were anything more than a normal cosmetic, aside from petting a dog or cat with a friend. They never went downhill, but less emphasis was placed on them after a certain point as our cosmetic options expanded. I've been around since C1S3 and they've never really been that important.

I use the blood moon rising, piggy smalls, sometimes the among us backbling, if I had my other account merged I would use dire sword. I cant believe that their isn’t a system to prove that if you made and own both fortnite accounts that you can’t just merge it, it pisses me off, I have stuff from season 4-6 on another account because I made it when I started on Nintendo switch and I didn’t have a PlayStation at the time, and when I did get a ps4 it was in season 7 when Sony was still being stubborn with cross play and not allowing accounts made on different consoles to be imported and logged into on a ps4.
