I was on eBay earlier and happened across an old GPU that I think would be awesome for you to review. The Sapphire Radeon HD4850 x2. It's a dual GPU released in 2008-09. The funny thing is that there were only ever 10000 made. But you can still get them for less than 80 USD. I would love to see a modern day review of it!

RandomGaming, Can you tell more to us about undervolting on laptops and other mobile devices? I ran IntelXTU on my mid-range notebook and got a 0.100V decrease in power, and as far as I know this doesn't impact performace or even negligible. But I really want to see the comparison between the undervolt compared to the normal voltage.

hey Randomgaminginhd I love your videos and keep up the good work! I need your help. I'm currently deciding on whether to get a q6600 for my gtx 560ti. is that a good choice? I currently have the q8200 but it seems like doesn't do the job. I'm also getting a lga 1150 motherboard and was wondering which CPU is the best for it (and has to be cheap as I'm on a tight budget :))
@frankdukes3253
@frankdukes3253 7 жыл бұрын
You could always go the Xeon route. Hard to beat a Xeon when you are on a budget. Just like a quad core Xeon. The Xeons socket 1150 can be kind of expensive. IDK just look around on ebay @ xeons, Find a good one and get a motherboard to fit your CPU. Not CPU to fit your motherboard.

Switched today from a phenom II x6 1090t at 3.7 ghz too a I5 2500 (turbo set to 4.1 ghz (3.8 ghz on all 4 cores.) gonna try getting hold of a 2500k though so it can sit at 4.4 - 4.8 ghz on all 4 cores instead. Gave me a decent performance boost despite being on a r9 280 in most stuff that were multi threaded or heavily single threaded.

I was talking about 32-bit Windows XP, there graphics vram takes away from the adressing space and usable ram, so Im thinking I should limit myself to cards up to about 512mb of vram, which will leave me with about 3.25gb usable ram. Am I wrong?

The HD3870 with GDDR4 was meaningful. The HD3870 compared well with Nvidia's 8800GT which sold for a considerable amount more money. The HD2900XT was a flop and the HD3870 made up for it with price to performance.

please can u revisit the windows game mode for dx 10 and 10.1 as my apu for some reason has been seeinh big buffs for the gpu it has as i tried nfs2012 a dx 10.1 game that usually runs at 18 fps but boosted the frames to high 20' round 27 fps whilst with dx9 and 11 games i only saw the standard 1-2 increase. So my question is: how does Windows gamemode affect dx 10.1 games and please use a low end rip if possible

When GDDR4 came out, GDDR3 maxed out at 1800MHz, but GDDR4 delivered 2000, that's more than 10% bandwidth, substantial enough I would say! Later GDDR3 maxed out at 2000, GDDR4 at 2400, that's a 20% bandwidth boost. Definitely substantial in the world of graphics, where every GB bandwidth counts! Where GDDR3 cards hit a wall at 60GB/s, GDDR4 went beyond 70. A huge leap back then!

hell you mean it hit a wall at 60GB/s my quadro FX 5800 (oc'd) gets 140GB/s on GDDR3 (And 4GB of it, not 1 or 2 gb like the gtx 285!)

@@virtualtools_3021 these are 512-bit cards; not the usual 256-bit available back then.

GDDR4 was effectively a faster version of GDDR3 when all is considered. GDDR5 actually doubled the bandwidth (or you could say quadrupled when considering the "DDR" moniker) compared to GDDR3 per pin. GDDR4 was a logical dead end compared to what was necessary for moving forward, hence the fast rise and long life of GDDR5 that has enjoyed absolute ubiquity since 2009 (though it debuted in 2008).
