Have Companies & The US Government Pay You!

Google is one of the biggest companies in the world with a market capitalization of nearly $2 trillion. However, most people aren't able to name the founders of Google Larry Page and Sergey Brin. This makes as Larry Page and Sergey Brin basically fell off the face of the planet after they stepped down in 2015 from running Google. This is in stark contrast to most tech billionaires who maintain a significant social presence even after stepping down from their respective companies. Since they stepped down, we've only seen a handful of public appearances, and the founders have even relinquished control of the parent company Alphabet in 2019. This video explains what happened to Larry Page and Sergey Brin since they stepped down and what they're working on today.

Larry Page and Sergey Brin never wanted to serve ads as a means of generating revenue. But in the end, they got no option. Google literally has changed the ad industry and how we view ads.

Thus proving advertising is evil. The real question is how much is necessary (entropy is a b****). The difference between poison and medicine is often the dosage. Person I think it would take several Chinese firewalls to solve the problem. You got to split up motivation into discreet units. Monopolies bad m'kay.
@BrianJT

@@jtjames79 honestly I don't think "advertisement" as a general thing is evil. It's all in how it's done. Lets say things weren't advertised, and you had to hear of things word of mouth etc wouldn't that mean that any brands with widespread recognition, would be harder to replace with a better, but less well known product?

@Tony G ONLY if shareholders and executives allow everyone under them to actually allow innovation and risky ventures. Take all of the biggest video game publishers, they rack in billions and are hounded by their shareholders, to make more money than the last year....... yet are the worst companies in the industry regarding innovation and product quality. Profits drive innovation only when innovation is focused on more than the profits themselves. This can only really happen with private companies or public companies with boards that actually know what they're doing within a company and not just investing.

If I created something like Google or Facebook, I'd probably be gone as soon as I no longer needed to work, especially given all the controversy and drama coming from those companies over the years. Who wants to keep being called before Congress for stuff when you can spend the rest of your life on a private island, doing a bit of philanthropy here and there, traveling the world whenever you want and having lobster and caviar with 200 year old French wine for lunch?

Or you could give yourself a modest salary with a few luxuries and, instead, keep the money in the company, invest in your employees, undertake altruistic ventures that benefit humanity and keep the wealth circulating. If you chose to not be evil I doubt you'd be called before Congress. Running away to a private island to escape the mass surveillance machine you've created is the definition of evil, have you never seen a Bond movie? Somehow I doubt streetview has mapped his island.

Honestly they shouldn't return to Google, to do innovation you need money, and Google has done great job of multiplying their money, they should start other ventures which then can focus upon innovation funded by Google. For good or bad google changed the world. Mad respect for this guys, but they have brains and resources, I wish they implore more on innovation.

Yeah, Google has made some very wrong turns. I think that if the founders were still in charge of Google, then the company would be a lot better with privacy, and products.
@skinnyguy7773
@skinnyguy7773 2 жыл бұрын
It's more that the opposite is true, Google has gotten far more privacy-focused since the days the founders were in charge (mostly due to lawsuits). This is some biased video that paints an overly rosy picture of the founders.
