I saw The Professional’s video regarding the Liberty City Preservation project being taken down and he made a good point that Rockstar probably dislikes GTA IV as a whole due to how dark GTA IV is, while GTA V is back to the action packed, comedy driven game many fans liked in the past and it made a lot of money in the process, more than what GTA IV made. As a result, they likely will never go back to any sort of dark tone like GTA IV in the future. So if you’re a fan of GTA IV in anyway, be it being your favorite game in the franchise or just have a love for the characters and environment, sucks for you. Rockstar disliking one of the most popular games in its library is ridiculous. I don’t know if there will be a remaster of GTA IV, but if there is one, let’s hope and pray that it’s better than the GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition, especially upon initial release. No matter what, GTA IV is an undisputed masterpiece.

I do feel like that GTA IV has always been neglected and unseen by Rockstar Games. It's one of my favorite games and a gaming masterpiece,but Rockstar never really appreciated the game. You couldn't be more wrong. I like both games, but come on. Sure, GTA IV does things better than GTA V, but that doesn't mean it's superior to GTA V. GTA IV doesn't have: *Planes *Many customization options *Balanced driving and steering physics *A bigger map *Map diversity *Good shooting mechanics *A good radio (GTA SA and V's radios are godtier compared to IV's) *Casinos *Buyable properties *More weapons than SA Honestly, SA will TOP IV and V. IV really only tops V in character physics, replayability, immersiveness, and interiors.

When you compare the different details and physics of gta 4 with other gta games, the others won't come close. Not to mention, gta 4 has the most creative and realistic npcs and characters out of any gta. For me, most features go to san andreas, most details and physical attributions go to IV, and graphics as well as multiplayer go to V.

I wouldn't mind if they just had Double Eleven gut the current PC version of GTA 4 inside and out, and work their magic to optimize it to a level that they did for RDR1. I don't really want a remaster, I like GTA 4 the way it is stylistically, I just want it to run better out of the box without needing to use mods with downgraders. Having it on modern consoles would be cool too like they did with RDR1, just making it more accessible in general.

So that’s a majority of the player base that would appreciate a good port on PC and a modern port for PS consoles. Even with mods you have to lock the FPs on certain missions or you can’t pass because going past a certain FPs threshold breaks the physics of the game.

In my opinion, GTA 4 absolutely deserves a remake with the depth and immersion of RDR2. Can you imagine driving around at night, especially with ray tracing? It would be glorious to witness! That said, I don’t think a full remake will happen anytime soon though it could in the future. For now, the best they could do is a proper remaster, fixing bugs and optimizing it to run better on modern systems.

Well, considering gta IV had some incredible detail and physics of the time (i know its over exaggerated, but to a core audience it was really well recieved) i have a weird feeling it may be re-introduced based on GTA VI archetecture, could be DLC, an independent purchase of itself or both. Oooorrrrr just the map brought up to the mid 2020's. Could be anything! IV is still my favourite and i do wish for a proper refresh one day.

Also it would remind people how bad the controls and physics, car design, car handling, and visuals looked by comparison in Grand theft auto 5, because they went downhill after gta4. If so, the remaster should have the following in order to be perfect in my point of view: - The Lost & the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony should be included (obviously) - TLAD should retain its dark and grainy look, and TBoGT should retain its bright and colorful look - a weapon wheel - a radio station wheel - optional ray tracing - higher resolution textures - more realistic lighting - smoother frame rates - vehicle customization options - more detailed vegetation - mission checkpoints, and the ability to turn them on and off - the ability to replay missions - your friends should either stop calling you to hang out, or do so less often (NO ROMAN, I DON'T WANT TO GO BOWLING!!!) - the ability to call Lazlo to find the name of a song playing on the radio should be removed, as the radio station wheel renders this feature obsolete - Niko's storyline and TLAD should have a mission scoring system like TBoGT - the driving physics should be same as in the original game - the weapon aiming system should be the same as in the original game by default, with the option to change it to that of GTA V (or GTA VI) - Niko's hand-to-hand combat techniques reflecting his military background should be retained - it should not be possible for Niko to kill Luis Lopez during Three Leaf Clover - Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez should have the same models in Niko's storyline as they do in TLAD and TBoGT - Niko, Johnny, and Luis should not discard their weapon when they run out of ammo for it - police cars that spawn in Alderney should have Alderney State Police livery instead of LCPD livery - police officers that spawn in Alderney should not use voice clips that mention the LCPD or Liberty City - the Plumber's Skyway in Alderney should be redesigned to more closely resemble the real-life Pulaski Skyway that it's based on - after completing Niko's storyline, Niko should receive a new text message from Packie McReary announcing his intention to move to Los Santos - after completing TLAD, Johnny should receive new text messages from other club members hinting at their intention to relocate to San Andreas - after completing Niko's storyline, Niko should gain access to all weapons that were previously exclusive to TLAD and/or TBoGT (fully-automatic 9mm pistol, assault shotgun, sticky bombs, etc.) - after completing TLAD, Johnny should gain access to all weapons that were previously exclusive to TBoGT - after completing TBoGT, Luis should gain access to all weapons that were previously exclusive to TLAD

The solution is to buy a PS3/Xbox 360/PC if you want to play GTA 4. It doesn't need a definitive edition.

The LC project was compromised by the pesky mega big youtubers we know it they know it. if you're been around for more than a decade for the gta modding community you'd know this stuff never happened because mods used to be known only by a very selected if we want, group of dedicated people. now with youtube becoming this big content farm where everybody must come out with the same video it only made modding worse for everybody modders and players

Something tells me even if RStar makes a remaster, it'll be shit like the trilogy remaster. They are quick to shut down these amazing mods, but cant even implement these mods to make official remasters of their own.

They basically have a remaster already 😅 the preservation project basically done it for them 😅 rockstar would be stupid not to do one as the fans clearly want it and rockstar and hopefully the moders will hopefully get paid well. It's a win win for everyone if they do it.

I'll be honest I am a huge sucker for old games but gta 4 for some reason I couldn't take myself through it. It felt very different to the regular gta I am used to, both visually and gameplay wise. I only played like 2 hours and gave up cos it was not enjoyable at all.

Max Payne is not remaster but remake made from ground up with Alan Wake 2 Engine, GTA 4 would most probably be remaster which would be way less source intensive
