Honestly, I'm sad about what happened to this game. Imagine what the game could have been if they stuck with what was in the pre-alphaand alpha 1/2.

i remember the first hello neighbor trailer back in 2015-2016 (forgot) and it looked amazing but then the story got confusing.. it had a lot of potential ill tell you that

Indeed it did, and especially at the beginning alphas, each one was just getting better and better so it seemed like everything was going so well. Then it was an immediate decline brought us where we are now. Each alphas was basically it’s own game and those early ones captured the true essence of Hello Neighbor, which they threw away more and more with each build of the game. I think that’s what makes it so sad :(

I don't have any problem with Hello Neighbor becoming less scary. It actually helped the franchise succeed. This game got books, toys and even a cartoon because of that! That's so impressive. What I do have a problem with, is the gameplay. I think they shouldn't have made the neighbor's house too big. and the lack of directions or explanation doesn't help. I remember the alphas having a tutorial so I still don't get why they removed it. In the end, I think they realized what made Hello neighbor 1 so bad and are trying to do better. Hello neighbor hide and seek had a story that the players can understand easily and Hello neighbor 2 has much better puzzles and platforming.

Agreed, personally I was wanting the final release to be more scary in the lines of pre-alpha and alpha 1, where it was a good blend between puzzle solving and horror. But yeah it seems that as they make more games, they realize that the community should be the ones they listen to.

Well the house being big and wacky and stupid, was because that was their main goal, before the pre-alpha you can look at concepts of the final house
@CaptainsRath Жыл бұрын
Yeah it definitely was their goal to embrace the wacky and have a big house. They just failed miserably at what to do WITH the house. I also think they never intended to go this big with the house.

I think you should make a vid on the secret neighbor,hello neighbor diaries, and hello neighbor hide and seek. I think the cartoon art style actually looks pretty cool. Theres tons of mods that have made the art style worked. Altho yes it isnt that scary anymore. Its kind of like breaking bad, they did a bad decision in alpha 3, since the community liked it they just continued what they do even if the community doesnt want it. Because they are going to make money anyway, they are already popular. Oh yeah hn2 would be a nice vid. It has hello guest prototype,hello guest alpha 1, hn2 alpha 1 and 1.5, an unreleased alpha 2 build even if they made that the e3 trailers and put a lot of teasers for it, then theres the beta, which had one patched which just made the ai a lil bit smarter even tho it was still bad. They also fixed the cutscene, in hn2 beta v 0.0 the camera rotation is relative to the players when they enter the cutscene area. In beta 1.1 they fixed it. Then there was the demo, then the full game. They had so much planned its kinda sad to see how much unused content it has. HN1 probably couldve been so many different games. The pre alpha had a darker and more horror style, the alpha 1 already had a more light vibe which can be a good game. The alpha 2 was a good game. All of this couldve been avoided if they just stopped making changes at one of those versions. Especially hn2 they couldve made like every version of hn2 a different game because it is so different each

Yeah I think the most disappointing thing from all of the games that they have released is that ALL of them had amazing potential and working prototypes, and none of it was tapped into. I reviewed the second game (not the betas and alphas), and albeit it is better than the first, it still falls flat in a lot of ways. I just wonder what happened if this game never ended up catering towards children, I wonder if it would have ended up being as good as it’s early builds.

@@CaptainsRath i think it wouldve been good. The pre alpha alone was a good starting point but from alpha 1 it was all downhill
@CaptainsRath Жыл бұрын
I’d say alpha 3 was the beginning of a noticeable downfall, alpha 1 was almost the exact same as pre alpha so it could not have been there. Alpha 2 is one that I love, but the art style change for some can be seen as a step in the wrong direction, albeit it is a very small change. Alpha 3 kinda just threw the previous alphas out the window and screwed it all up from gameplay, graphics, audios, and just the overall feel.

@@CaptainsRath yeah, i do love the atmosphere of alpha 3 tho. Btw just rewatched the hn2 review vid and i think ive actually watched it before. U should try the new patches. The reason people hated hn2 is probably because how much tinybuild hyped up the early version of hn2. Hello guest couldve been its own game, then they changed it to hn2 which in its alphas has the same art style. I mean they did release a lot of promo art, concept arts, and even teasers and trailers of the alphas. So yeah its kinda understandable that a huge part of the hn community wouldve preferred the old one. Speaking of hn1, alpha 1 already felt more light themed, it feels way brighter, theres more colors and more absurd puzzles which is actually kinda good for the lore too. Alpha 2 is a perfect mix of the art style. Rip alpha 1.5, it seems that the devs were obsessed to adding more content to their game, even in alpha 2 they gave a console to players. Thats probably why they decided on making mysteries, a bigger house. The mysteries in alpha 3 and 4 had a different tone on it, the build up to the beta was kinda good. But then they had to throw all that out to make the neighbor a normal dude that lost his family

I do think it would be a nice vid of this type, only with hn2 or hello guest
