John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, and Gordon Hayward were once star players, but it's a shame that injuries have reduced them from star players to Role players. Paul George is probably the only NBA player who turned pro in 2010 who is certain to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after he retires.

Real NBA fans know it’s not all about talent. Politics play a part. Coach Lue’s line up selection was trash the whole year. And the whole team was injured from beginning to the end.

@@HenryHoopshey man good video but maybe try to be a little bit more accurate. “RA-LEE” is how you pronounce Raleigh NC. Also, wall didn’t shoot below 30 percent from 3 with the Clippers. It was .303, very close, but just pointing out inaccuracies. He was a 5 time consecutive all star, not 4, though maybe I misheard that? He also shot above 35 percent from 3 3 times during his all star run, not once. He shot 35+ in 13/14, 35+ in 15/16, and 37+ in 17/18. He also shot 38 combined % during his all star run on all catch and shoot 3s. Also shot 38 on catch and shoot during his one season with the Rockets. All of this said, I LOVE how you mentioned that he might have got himself blackballed due to the comment he made on the run your race podcast!!!! I was surprised I hadn’t heard anyone else mentjon that. I think we know how the NBA owners work, and it’s VERY clear that as much as it’s awesome Wall is so genuine, he just basically exposed the Rockets for doing something VERY illegal in NBA business( think of the implications as far as gambling goes too!!! If they were to be actually investigated for intentiapnlly losing gmars????). I honestly am so glad you used your platform to mention this, I’m surprised it wasn’t blown up, but that might be intentional. The NBA and media powers that be might have got involved and done their best to make sure his comments didn’t beocme anything more. I know people are accused of trying to lose all of the time…but a player who was on the team at the time directly stating that his team was instructed to lose????? Wtf!? Shits wild! But I love John for calling it out. Dude has the worst luck ever and still he’s made himself into such a GOAT in his own way, and done so much for his family and hundreds of other families in DC and Houston, possibly other areas as well. Just like his idol Iverson, I think the media always did their best to paint him as one thing, even if the truth was the opposite. Both of those men are such genuine beautiful souls but they both refused to pander to the NBA powers, and those powers inflicted their rath due to that. I read so many reports about stuff like this. I remmebr one during walls prime titled “why does the NBA media hate John wall..for no reason???” And talked about how he had never done anything bad to anyone, all signs pointed to him actually helping so many people, yet the media trashed him!? And then wirh iverson, obviously we’ve all heard all of the stories about how the NBA tried to fukc with him after he refused their offer to make him the new face of the league IF he was willing to do it their way in terms of how he presented himself

One thing you didn't mention is his stats in the 2016/17 season when he was just 26, and the fact that he always stepped up in the playoffs The wiz took the 1st seeded celtics to game 7 because of wall. The wiz that year won 49 games because of wall, beal wasn't a star player yet He also was great defensively, constantly in the discussion for who was the best defensive pg at the time Such a good and fun player who got ruined in the beginning of his prime, he could have achieved so much more. Boogie before the injuries wanted to play with him, i think that's enough to tell how much potential he and washington had

He would have learned a lot I'm honestly not even sure if the wiz would have beaten the hawks in the 1st round if it wasn't for wall, they won 4-2 iirc. He's not banned he's just not an NBA caliber player anymore. He made a living from his freakish athleticism and court vision. Now the athleticism is gone and without a jump shot his NBA career is over. Had he been able to hit 3s consistently he could have carved out a D-Rose type role for himself. Truth is if you're a guard and you can't shoot or beat your man off the dribble you're pretty much done.
