He learned from the example of Patrick Willis. He's made his money, accomplished a lot, but knew that to keep playing would cost him his health. I'd rather see him retire now than be a broken shell of a man in 15-20 years time.

I've been watching football essentially since I was capable, and that was, bar none, the most concerning concussion I ever saw. Usually you'll see a player disoriented, but frustrated, over a concussion. With that one, we saw the disorientation, but it was combined with genuine fear and confusion. That is a tough man, by any standard, so imagine what's going on in his brain to break down on national television. I'm a N.E. fan living in Charlotte, and to see even his own fans making fun of him, and calling him less than masculine names, was beyond disgusting.

@@bradkirchhoff3751 he's talking about the scene where luke was discussing his decision to retire, he starts to choke up talking about it. The concussion scene you are right although he might have been crying too as you are still "cognizant" when concussed, the messages are just delayed and don't always get across. I've been concussed and I compare it to an LSD trip plus a headache. You don't get the high or visuals that comes with LSD but it scrambles information in your brain in a similar way, and unlike LSD you can't rely on it to end within 10 hours or so, so it's much scarier. You constantly feel lost, and for a grown ass man that is a scary enough feeling to illicit tears.

Thanks for making this video. I loved everything that he did for the Panthers. However it was awesome to see him play versus the Texans this 2019 season. It was remarkable to see him play in person. Also McCaffrey, Watt, Watson, and more players on both teams.

he was drugged out and he was an outside linebacker, you can’t really compare stats of an outside line backer and a middle line backer
@grenademaster89814 жыл бұрын
Luke was amazing and his stats are incredible...which makes you realize how great London Fletcher was to have put up the same type of numbers (or better) for 15 years straight without missing a game.

Man I feel bad, dude loved the sport but had to give it up, going to the hof fosho
@slayermill86214 жыл бұрын
I think he'll be right on the cusp of making it in. I say that because the only linebacker I saw in the HOF with 8 seasons in the NFL was Dick Butkus. Most linebackers in had double digit years in the league. Due to how many All Pro and Pro Bowl seasons Luke had though, not to mention his stats. I think he should get in.
@upside934 жыл бұрын
I hope so but I think even Patrick Willis and Calvin Johnson are long shots to make it
@unpopularopinion1494 жыл бұрын
Considering all the talent that doesn’t make it into the HOF..it’s kinda wack of a thing. It’d be better if the HOF was voted by the entire league instead of a bunch of ol’heads
@upside934 жыл бұрын
@@unpopularopinion149 the ol heads still manage to fuck it up. See: Randy Gradishar, best linebacker not in the hall.

@matthew baker Sterling Sharpe was my favorite player as a kid actually. For a school project in second grade I even wrote him a letter telling him he was my favorite. He played 7 years, put up huge numbers, and did get inducted. I was just looking at linebackers who've got in and in terms of NFL seasons Kuechly could get snubbed. Marshawn Lynch will likely run into same issue when it comes to getting inducted due to his overall stats, not years played. With Terrell Davis just getting in, Marshawn probably will eventually but each position group seems to have different HOF criteria. There's a lot of garbage politics that go into it as well. I think Kuechly will make it and should, I just think it could take some time.

Great video my friend. From your delivery, it sounds like you have a lot of respect for any athlete like Luke, that has class, plays hard rain or shine, doesnt complain about petty things, and gives back to the sport. I always loved Luke Kuechly. Fast and a real centerpiece of the defense. A very humble guy also. I believe he reminded of Brian Urlacher in many ways as far as size and speed, and ability to take over a game. Keep up the videos!!!!

Best memory of Kuechly, vs. Cowboys in 2015 when he intercepted Romo and stiff-armed him as he ran in for the Pick-6. Best LB in the business, humble and hardworking. Love and Respect.
