Yes, I would imagine things are very different in California versus Tennessee. I would rather live in Tennessee. Sympathy to all of you. Losing a grandma is very hard- and strange. We move closer to being the oldest generation and the weight of family legacy falls more on our shoulders. And Grandmas are big pieces in the puzzle of our heart and soul. Alex- not sure you ever mentioned the diagnosis for your eye. Chalazion? Blepharitis? Strep? Hope it's better!

I live in Los Angeles and I feel SO out of place here too. Born and raised here and yet my dream is to move out to the country, with clean air, no traffic, and a slow way of life. Philip - so sorry for the loss of your grandmother.🙏 Alex, if you can find a foaming eyewash called SteriLid - it will help tremendously. I use it in the shower so that I never get these again. I had like back to back styes (I'm not even sure that's what my doctor called it but it looked like yours and was super swollen & so painful). Was put on a topical antibiotic but was also told to use the SteriLid all the time. It works!!!! I used to get at Walgreens and now have to get it off of Amazon. Feel better!!

It has to be a bummer to get to go back to California and have your eye being closed and I’m sure painful. The girls did so good traveling, much better than I do and I’m old (63). We just moved from South Florida to TN. We Love TN! We lived in FL for over 30 years ❤️ and haven’t been in TN for even a year yet and yet it feels more like home than FL ever did . It’s different for everyone I think but I can’t imagine going back to a busy city away from the countryside 🏔️

Sorry for the lost of your grandmother. I can feel for you the culture shock for you. My hubby and I where born and raised in Southern NJ and moved to Maine. We had to return to bring my mom back with us to Maine after we had been gone for 20 some years we felt like we where visiting a strange planet. We felt so out of place and people where so unfriendly and rude. Glad we are living in Maine.

I thought it was wonderful to see the girls in a more urban setting again. Living in this century and not like olden times where your whole life is working the land. I am so sorry you guys. I work with the American Society of Pharmacovigilance and the FDA every year to raise awareness about this, but; Alex, I just need to tell you that if the doc prescribed Ciprodex or Ofloxacin eye drops; they are Fluoroquinolone antibiotics and can cause a host of serious problems like tendon and ligament ruptures, kidney damage and spontaneous aortic aneurysm rupture. I just had my 31st joint surgery in 12 years since taking Cipro. If it's possible to take Erythromycin drops instead I would ask for that as a possible alternative. It drastically changed my life and I try to make sure others know this is a risk and there are safer alternatives in other antibiotic families.

Alex: I'm really feeling for you. I just had extensive eye surgery and it was a hundred times more palatable than the nasty sty, chronic conjunctivitis, black mold exposure kinda stuff I've had in the past. Just medicate and REST that eye (as in closed/not blinking) as much as you can.

I haven’t watched the whole thing but my face did this and it was a type of strep throat. I wasn’t coughing or anything but my whole side of my face swelled up I didn’t feel sick but the test came back as strep throat. Went on meds for a week two weeks and was fine :)
