When I realized today was 5 years from my 1st finger amputation I felt like I should do a video. I'm so glad I did, not only to bring awareness to Raynaud's but to help anyone going through this horrible adventure to know they are not alone. The video has been up about 2 hours and I have already received messages and pictures from others being affected by Raynaud's. One lady is scared and doesn't know what is going to happen to her finger. I remember being right there where she is tonight. So glad she saw this video and reached out to me to ask questions and talk.

I have to applaud you my friend. I have been an avid loom knitter who watches your loom knitting videos for awhile now and i was wondering what had happened to your fingers while watching your vids, but after watching this video i appreciate you and your works that you share on here with everyone. It just goes to show you that no matter what happens to you you wont let something like this stand in your way...by the way your turtle video I really enjoyed watching.

You are amazing!! I lost my vision 18 months ago. When I am asked how it happened I reply, too much masturbation makes you go blind, or too much time on my cell phone, or watching tv, or staring at the sun. Actually I have macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Coincidentally, my dad had to have his right eye removed last year due to cancer. When people ask him about it he replies: Red Ryder BB Guns aren't toys, you'll shoot your eye out. We have to have a sense of humor about what has happened to us. It is the best way to deal with the pain and grief. I still knit and crochet. I had to give up driving, and reading. We learn to adapt. I am sorry this happened to you. I pray it doesn't happen again. I admire your strength and perseverance, and of course your sense of humor. 😘

I am so sorry that you lost your vision and you can't read any more . I wonder if maybe you have heard of Orcam ? It's a pen - like instrument that you use to read a book or anything else that has text on it . I think that you should look into their website (or get someone else to do it for you) so that you can get information about it and see if you might want to get one . Because you are blind , they may have a discount code for you to use so that you can get it at a lower price .

Thank you for both your humor and honesty. I have Raynaud’s and it was a very early onset for me. Part of the reason I learned to crochet is because I wear wrist warmers/fingerless gloves for a large portion of the year to keep the main arteries in my wrists warm. These fingerless gloves significantly reduces the pain Raynaud’s causes and that allows me to be more productive with my hands. Over the many years of wearing fingerless gloves, I’ve developed very specific taste in the style of fingerless gloves I like. It’s a game changer when you can custom make something that allows you to be more functional in life. Keep being awesome and don’t lick any blenders.😅

I know so many people who have let their amputations stop them from doing the things they love. I don't blame them. I can imagine it's very hard to start at 0 with a craft or hobby you used to be proficient in. The fact that you have carried on and adapted to continue the craft you love is so amazing.

One of the 1st lessons I learned at the start of MY medical journey was, *trust yourself that you know your own body best* I don't doubt that doctors know the medical terms of what goes on, but when something about your own body feels -not right- you are the best judge. *I admire your attitude about everything and add my name to your family's list of fans!* *Keep on truckin' and we'll be here cheering you on :))*

Miss Kayla, you're an inspiration to all of us. I became disabled in 2019 due to a fall at work. Had to have surgery on both legs and end up with nerve damage. I wish I had come across your channel back then. I could have used your inspiration. I didn't think I would ever be anything like I was. You are an inspiration! I've had lupus for 30 years. I haven't lost any digits or limbs but my legs and feet died due to nerve damage. Can't feel anything from my knees down. I can walk with a rollator but fall frequently. The bones in my left wrist collapsed and it had gone too far for surgery. Can't use it anymore. In a brace until I die. I learned the hard way to take life one day at a time. You are blessed to have family. I lost all of mine by the time I was thirty and lupus took me down shortly after. Thanks for sharing your story!

Thank you for your story. I have been diagnosed with Lupus and Raynaud's. When my fingers started acting up my doctors really didn't know what to tell me except, wear gloves because your fingers are cold. I looked at him and said I was inside the house playing cards when my finger went numb/tingly/painful and whitey blue color. It hurt so bad I was tapping it and pulling them smacking it on the table, trying to get it to stop. Cold was not a factor. At least I know it wasn't all in my head. Thankfully my circulation returned but I know what to look for now and I know not to wait. Wish they could have done more to help. Since it's an older video I can only hope medically they have an advancement that helps prevent more loss. You have brightened my storm. You encourage me to see the silver lining even through the challenges. Thank you 🦋🌺🦋

You are a great encouragement. I Thank you for your sweet spirit and fun attitude. Oh, by the way, one of our daughters did get her fingers caught in the hand mixer beaters. My daughter is 30 now, but ever since she was a preteen her feet would be blood red all the way up to her ankles when she would get out of the shower. You are and will continue to be an inspiration to many. Found you on YT yesterday and subscribed. I also joined the Yarn Swap group on Facebook. Can't wait to join in on some swaps!! I'm a knitter too. It can be happily hypnotic. And your children are learning a lifelong lesson about acceptance and stepping up to the plate. I think this is the most moving video I've seen here. Thank you for taking the time to tell us.

This is my 1st time seeing your video so I clicked on this one and listened to the whole thing saying a prayer along the way. God bless you and ty for making this video explaining what happened to your fingers and not all at the same time, how sad but you're a very strong and courageous woman! This video I see is from 2 yrs ago. How are you today? 🤗❤🙏🙏🙏

Kayla, I have to say I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself. For some reason I clicked on Your story. I hadn't read or seen anything. Just clicked on it. Then I have to say your smiles, laughter and soothing voice just snapped me out of it. This was before you even began telling your story. I have multiple disabilities of which most are invisible. I'm always in unbareable pain. My mom is my rock(God too)he knows without him and my mom I might not be around to make this comment. Gh how bad the pain gets a lot of the time. Unfortunately most people don't believe in invisible diseases even if a Dr is standing toe to toe with someone telling them it's most definitely real and so is her pain. Anyway enough about me. I just want you to know what an inspiration you were to me today. I'll be praying for you. Please say a prayer for me. I'm afraid it's gonna be a bad one tonight and an extremely painful long one too. May God richly bless you hun and thanks so much for sharing your story. For opening and uplifting my spirit today!🙏😇😊💖

Lol I really admire your attitude ...good for you!! It’s an unfair world at times.... I’m so pleased you seem to get through and still get things done. It can’t be easy. Xx back again I hadn’t watched the whole video when I commented. wow. Just wow. Thank heavens you have your creativity to return to when you are able...I can believe you’ve had to go through it with so many fingers ...I wish I could hug you. (i know sounds dumb. ) huggggggggg... I wish you so much luck and love for the future with those 2 illnesses. To know what was going to happen each time after the first....that’s just so awful and unfair for you. You are one amazing woman. I just want to thank you for the courage to share your story and I hope you lose no more. ... Lindy in Australia

Kayla, you are a true survivor and an example to us all. You could have just given up and not see a productive future for yourself. Who would have blamed you? Instead, you held onto what you could do and not only for yourself, but you became a teacher as well. I have tried to look knitting from other videos but it only left me frustrated. I have cognitive issues due to my multiple sclerosis and just couldn't get what they were doing. I watched your video with the circle cal and it clicked for me. Now I can't wait to get my loom so I can get caught up with the cal.i love your personality and I thank you for getting through this tough old mind if mine. Looking forward to looming with you! 🙂💙🧶

Kayla, as everybody else has said, I appreciate you sharing about your struggles, and for you to be a crafter who uses your hands, what a challenge! I love your humor and bravery! I am spending time at the hospital with my husband who is being treated for leukemia, and I have gotten hooked on circular machine knitting, I’ll be an “expert” by the time I get home and can get one of these machines ! Big Daddy gave us excellent tips on how to perform maintenance on the Addie King, so thank you to him. Best wishes for your remaining fingers!! Love to you, keep on cranking!!

Absolutely love you Kayla. Thank you for sharing ...love your outlook and determination, you are amazing. I do get very frustrated and even scared sometimes when I have my Raynauds attacks...even merely opening the freezer doors at the grocery store sets off the top half of my fingers turning completely yellow and that horrid hurting/stinging feeling. When I show family and friends my hands ..it's usually a look of "gosh that's weird lookin".

Kayla, you are a wondrous woman. You have been thru an awful lot. You still smile and carry on. God is good, you have your life and your loved ones. And all your talents and hobbies are amazing! I also have Lupus and dread the future. So far, lots of medical issues. But I will endure as long as the Lord let's me. I will strive to keep a smile on my face, a hook in my hands, and a song in my heart. God bless you and good luck.

I know this is an old vlog, but I opened up my computer and saw your vlog about your father's funeral, (My prayers are with you and your family). So I went snooping on your channel. God bless you, losing your fingers and still are happy and getting along just fine. Well maybe not just fine but with the Lord's help. Thank you for posting. Your testimony will help someone somewhere I'm sure. My sister has lupus and I have MS but neither of us has the other. God Bless and have an AWESOME EASTER!!!!
