The Shmuseum

The Shmuseum

Күн бұрын

Another super busy day here at The Shmuseum including a furniture delivery, a fuel run in the Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and an explanation as to the whereabouts of the Ford GT!
We start off by having a run through of some cool memorabilia to display around the garage, such as a Rothmans F1 tapestry and a scrutineering sticker from the Monaco grand prix in 1997. Next up is to bring in the IKEA delivery, which includes some new display cabinets for Tim's ever-growing LEGO collection.
The Vantage GT8 is due a fuel run so it's time to enjoy that glorious V8 engine, before the flat pack building begins. Finally, the true story about the Ford GT is revealed... where actually is it?! The GT is currently off for it's 3rd year service however global shipping shortages have meant a huge delay on a few parts, although hopefully it will return in the coming months!
Thanks for watching!

I would literally put rails along the floor. And had a giant mezzanine that runs on rails and can be moved from one side to the other. Or placed in the middle. Ive seen it before. Its really cool and doesnt add much to the cost.

Hey Tim. I’ve commented a couple times that in the states you can use closed foam spray insulation to keep the temperature balanced and it wouldn’t echo as much. Don’t know if you have something similar in the UK, but here’s it’s very cheap.
@charlie1832

The spray foam is a good , but the cost of the cans to insulate a space that size would be astronomical, if they have companies over there that do spray foam then it’d be a good idea

Such a lot of LEGO! I spotted the GT500 recently and thought of Shmee. Those IKEA cabinets do indeed look pretty good. For the 1/18th diecast models it may be worth building wall shelving then displaying them in good quality individual display cases mixed around other items of memorabilia and books. Rather like how you might see a high end boutique merchandised. Thank you.

I have resubscribed after watching a lot of your content lately and enjoying it a lot mainly due to your outro's not having the cringey "cheeeerrrs" at the end. You do a remarkable job with your knowledge of cars and presentation on each car you are involved with during any video. Funny thing is you do not mention much about your OCD, maybe you have talked about it and I may have missed it in another video or you either havn't spoke or know you have it, I see it in you all the time with the moving of the cars for a couple of feet that honestly didn't realy need to move as you are still a long way from the final setup and layout, but I would be doing the same thing as you with colour pattern/country/manufacturer and the strive for perfection, even at night in bed before you drop off your still thinking of how you can make symmetrically perfect.

The Silk Cut colours were used by Jaguar on the XJR-8 in 1987 and XJR-9 in 1988, so Brad might be excused not being born, but as one of the epic Le Mans wins (1988 and 1990), I fear you lads need to help him brush up on his British motoring history.
