Being American of Chinese descent and having documented Chicago's Chinatown, seeing their resilience is astounding and makes me proud to share a culture with. A hundred or so years ago they were forced out of downtown Chicago, due to crime and high rent, and started their own community a mile south on the south side. It's the only Chinatown that's growing, due to strong leadership and community. Without those key things, they would have never have thrived. Someone has got to look out for the older generations. It's a shame they're living in fear all over the country. They're the most vulnerable to people who can't keep a grip, and that's why they're constantly targeted. People want to direct their own suffering onto those who are like them on the bottom of the social ladder but still have it in them to keep their wits together. It's such a shame. Thank you for your honest assessment, wisdom, and for showing the state of NYC Chinatown to such a wide audience. Hopefully, people will shake off their misconceptions, visit, and help stand up against people trying to harm the community.

There is a huge Chinese community in the San Gabriel Valley (SGV), which is close to our house in Altadena (by Pasadena, CA). My husband and I often go to the SGV to eat, and especially for dim sum. We are typically the only non-Asians in these restaurants, and have always been treated with much kindness. I feel terrible about the violence Chinese communities are experiencing all over the U.S. during the pandemic. It's a very sad situation.

I love following you due to your sensible approach to life and people. Chinatown is one off my favourite areas in NYC but I do think the one in SF is bigger by area when walking about. Then I have to remember that in New York that area rises into the sky. Greetings from N Ireland.

Chicago's Chinatown is pretty much the same like in New York. Lots of people speaking againts the ccp and they used to have up to 20 cars driving up and down the downtown area every Saturday with signs against the ccp. The crime there has skyrocketed as well

I know a lady that has lived in China town NYC 🗽 for over 45 years. I'm currently visiting the city that never sleeps 🏙 and are seeing first hand how much ppl just want to be given the opportunity to work and provide for their families. I'm very appaled by the decisions DeBlassio has made in forcing ppl into compliance. Ppl should be able to choose.

@@guccimoochi1184 However the Republicans have also become a party of fools too. Both work for the corporations that want to be gods. Two sides of the same coin. Only hope for this nation is less big government more local. Now this government wants charge of our lives from birth on up. We will be data they order around. Local governments addressing local issues with local people will be our only hope. They mostly cater towards different parts of China but my wife (who is from mainland China) prefer Flushing 10X to the Manhattan Chinatown. More like a small city center in China and not a city but it's pretty busy. I prefer Flushing as well. Much better and when a lot of well known chain restaurants from China want to open in NYC, a lot of the time they choose Flushing and not Manhattan. Increasingly in Brooklyn's too.

I like the way you film your videos and discuss sensitive topics. Everyone has their own opinion and we have to accept it. Nowadays people like to think that they’re in the right and that they don’t have to respect the opinions of others.

This makes me so sad, I’m a country girl at heart but I loved to visit pre-pandemic NYC. I’m a lover of the theater, especially musical theater. I’ve been to China town numerous times. But now, due to the rise in crime and many of the new regulations I can no longer go. NYC relies heavily on tourism, they are already suffering due to the shutdowns but now they are discriminating towards people like me and it’s sad to see how it’s effecting the ordinary people of the city who have worked hard to make a new life for themselves. I am also an immigrant so I know that side as well. 💕 I can’t wait for the day that I can go back and enjoy the things and places I have come to love.

Thanks for the video And I ask everyone who reads my comment to accept this important issue. The people are separate from the government and a government should not be representative of the people because this is an unfair view. In dictatorial and aunormal governments, the people of that country suffer the most. Love and peace from Iran.

I really want you to check out the less popular cities that have been thriving during the pandemic. If you come out here to Arizona (really any city) you'll think nothing ever happened here. Can't promise it'll give you good content, haha! But I think it'll be interesting to show your audience the dichotomy between the big cities that you've shown and how the rest of the states are working out during COVID times.
