Just to update a bit more, now that it's 2023. Fly had to come off the road in February. We had Nashville friend and guitarist Mike Severs sub for 1/2 dozen shows in March/April. Then we brought on Tom Lane's bud, Tony Hooper, to fill the spot long term. Lane and Brady are still with me as I do my best to keep this train on the tracks for as long as people want to hear this music. Thanks to YOU, we get to do US.

Thanks to whomever did this. Most (but not all) of the info is correct. Close enough for rock 'n' roll, as it's said, I suppose. And fairly up to date. Here in 2022, our 50th year as a working band, John Hall has officially retired from the road band (for real, this time :-), Dennis "Fly" Amero is back, having healed up. Brady Spencer, Lane Hoppen and Tom Lane continue with me. We're booked into next year. All 6 of us are in the process of completing what we expect will be our last album release, this coming fall. Stay tuned. Lance Hoppen

The song... Love Takes Time was a masterpiece! Orleans was 2nd to none! They sadly did not get the exposure that they so deserved!

Saw them play at the SUNY Oswego Springfest in May of 1978 or 79. All the clams, burgers you could eat and all the beer you could drink (drinking age was 18 at the time). This was about at their height of popularity and it was an afternoon to remember.

When ABC became the No. 1 network they used "Still The One" as their network theme song. Kinda ironic that were fired from ABC record label, but the ABC network had no problem using their song. BTW, Robbie DuPree had a 2nd big hit "Hot Rod Hearts".

I rate them AAAA-#1 in tenacity! One of the best bands ever and probably the best to never hit that well deserved "Hall of Fame Super Stardom"! They remind me, in a lot of ways of "Vanilla Fudge" who were as good and talented as any band of the 60s and yet short lived. It seems like some groups and individual performers are all too very often "Snake Bit!"

My wife and I have known each other from the sixth and eighth grades, and have been a steady couple since 1960, married in 1967. "Still The One" has been "our song" since the first time we heard it. We were fortunate to see Orleans perform in person in New Bern, NC for their first gig of their 40th year: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sH3Cq6inrsaXY9E

What happened to Orleans? Just conjecture here, but I'll give it a shot: It all went downhill, because they never got around to adding the word 'New' to the front of their name? Or - the whole band eventually collapsed, under the collective weight of too much facial hair... (Maybe there were no triple blades back then, or they just didn't make enough royalties to afford a decent razor).🤷♀️ Again - just guessing :)
