I thought solo queue ranked was coming which would help against a stacked team. The rank resets don’t help either, players that haven’t played for months comeback and are rusty or mechanics have changed or health pools are different etc and you get matched with them and they go 1 and 8 You know what I mean here

If you’re good enough you’ll climb. Every team game you will lose a percentage of games due to throwers or awful teammates maybe like 25% let’s say. Equally 25% of your games will be un loseable because your team is that much better. The reminder 50% is entirely on you. As you approach your actual skill rank your W-L should be 50-50 includes unwinnable games and unloseable games. Ofc there can be a slight variance in these numbers but you get the idea. If you think you should be in a higher rank you’re probably really close to your true skill. Just watch any u ranked to gm they lose like 2 games out of like 40 to get to gm. You will win more % of games if your skill is truly higher (if you play enough).

Apex, ow, and Val we both have thought his way for a long time. I agree that is an oversimplification sometimes But it is a broad generalization that is generally pretty true. If you are good enough you will climb, that doesn’t mean you wont go on a loss streak with bad teammates and getting unlucky. It’s real simple, OW decided buffing everyone health would make this game better. Idk what went thru their minds, there’s tanks hitting 700+ health comfortably armor included. Dps like torb who hit 400hp with 1 ability. No one wants to play a game where it’s just a stalemate until people build Ults. Makes the game boring. Now open Queue is literally 3 tanks and 2 healers. You don’t need anything else literally. It’s so braindead that it really took the skill out of this game. Also as far as the rank system. If you were a gold player before the change, you can easily get to plat even low diamond comfortably. I don’t get why switch it but hey they love killing the game so who cares.

I was going to say maybe it takes a while for a top 500 player to get used to less reliable heals in Diamond, but these were some questionable pins. I'm just a lowly gold player who also hasn't played in a while, so I may be wrong, but several times it looked like he LoS'ed the healers and fed. Even on the OW1 maps like Havanna and Rialto he was overextending and getting caught by sleep darts and pins.

Each point you cap, you move forward, each point you lose you move back one point. And if you roll through all the points at the start, the last point I believe counts as a 2 round win so ends the game quicker, but the last point is the hardest because it is right outside the enemy spawn door.

They probably tried making a dungeon style OW with 1 tank, 3 dps and 1 support, but when they scrapped PvE they repurposed the engine to PvP, forcing them to adapt to 5v5, blaming tank queues for it. This lead to: 1. tank play being removed replaced with brawlers who can't die 2. which led to supports being dove constantly 3. which led to supports getting passives 4. which led to dps sucking 5. which led to inflating damage 6. which led to tanks reducing ult 7. leading to the entire dynamic of the game becoming confused and basically an arcade mode. 8. leading to everyone ignoring regrouping, teaming up and changing the pacing completely 9. causing high skill mechanical players to leave 10. leading to larger hitboxes to reward lower skill mechanical players 11. causing even further skill decline 12. forcing devs to implement wave respawning So yea. The entire dynamic of the game is disoriented and there's no tactical element anymore. It's just constant fighting. They thought pandering to players who jump in and play 3 minutes a week was more valuable than keeping gamers who spent 6 years honing their skills and spending hours online every day. All because they thought they could sell cosmetics at literally insane prices. Ngl I'm 99% sure that the lootboxes earned them more revenue than the current ingame shop. Even the battle passes have had the "premium" upgrade because it's so watered down. It's objectively a worse experience in every single aspect as a team based tactical shooter. Because there's no team, no tactical element, it's just shoot. If that's what you like then you can play it, but I'd rather go for battlefield, CS, Valorant, Tarkov, Apex or any other shooter. They flamed Paladins and literally degraded OW into the exact same thing. smh

Season 1 to like maybe 3? was pretty decent, even that years OWL finals was pretty intense with Prophet vs. Edison They removed skill expression from all the heroes to identify with people more likely to buy skins. It's a valid marketing strategy since the profit margin is so overwhelming, and killing the game doesn't really matter since you're handing it off to a new owner.
