I grew up with gen 5. I played Pokepark 2 as a kid. And I really loved it. I loved it so much that I got the first one too after all those endless hours of playing Pokepark 2. I love those games. Espcially the second one has a special place in my memory. I also had Pokemon Black 2 back then and really liked it (and also played it way too much) but for some reason my favorite Pokemon game was always Pokepark 2. It was a magical experience playing and fighting all those Pokemon. It was something the main Pokemon games don't offer like that. It was like Pokemon became alive

I definitely agree that the game is fun just because of the fact that it’s simple and relaxing. There’s no hurry to get something done quickly so you can go at your own pace. There’s also just a certain feeling it gives me while playing that no other game I’ve ever played has, it’s strange. Some of the feeling includes loneliness. The game literally begins with the title screen showing each zone but empty of all Pokémon. Even when playing, the small amount of Pokémon in each area can make you feel like you’re by yourself a lot of the time. Plus, one other thing that adds to that is thinking about the fact that I’m playing a spin-off Pokémon game made 13 years ago that no one else seemed to care about. Maybe I’m just weird but that’s my thinking on this

I'm surprised to learn the poke park games weren't as enjoyed as I thought they would be. I really enjoy both.I still have them both. I have such strong nostalgia for both games, I can remember just running around making stories up in my head while talking to pokemon I thought were pretty. I can even remember being blown away by some of the areas, like the haunted mansion and the ancient area. I look back now, and I'm sad to see the reality of the game. Because there is so much potential for this to be amazing. But even with flaws in all, I can't be mad at it... :)

the main difference between pokepark one and two is... literally quantity vs. quality. the first pokepark's world felt SUPER BIG, to the point where it felt MASSIVE. there were a crazy amount of pokemon to befriend, and that was pretty much it! but pokepark 2's world felt a little bit smaller, and was PACKED with lore and dynamics and level ups, while still having some of the old stuff. i played that dancing minigame so much i genuinely think it changed my brain chemistry

pokepark was my first pokemon game!! it holds a special place in my heart. i would go over to my friends apartment in like 2nd/3rd grade? and was so enraptured watching her play it on her wii that i ended up getting my own copy. I 100%ed making every friend in the game and to this day still feel a sense of warmth towards the pokemon that i really loved in pokepark. i really hope they make another one/a switch port even if just to give another generation that same chance to just chill, walk around beautiful environments, and make friends with some of their favorite pokemon :> it was a nice escape when i needed it

I think a third Poképark could have definitely done well during the second/third quarter of the Switch's lifecycle, New Pokémon Snap did pretty well. If they expanded onto the battling mechanic just a little bit more (something like a dodging/guarding mechanic + some enemy attacks that are mandatory to guard/dodge), diversifying each area a bit more like you mentioned so its not as repetitive, and added a more important feeling collectable to go alongside making friends (probably either Zygarde cells or Meltan) it would definitely flesh the game out a bit more. I'd also bring back the original attraction model from the first game so your friended Pokémon have a bit more of a use, maybe sprinkling a few of the more developed attractions from 2 that can only be done by the main playable Pokémon as well for a little diversity.

I loved that when you attack random Pokémon completely unprompted they’ll either attack you whenever you pass by them or run away when you come near. It was fun making enemies or getting Pokémon to fear me as a kid lmao. You could even get Pokémon who normally wouldn’t do a battle with you to use attacks that you’d never see otherwise by doing this

I think a 3rd Pokepark game would be awesome, but I think it needs MANY fundamental changes to make it even slightly interesting. Now, imagine this... A Pokepark game but with the gameplaye mechanics and Combat of Kingdom Hearts, or another Action RPG? It'll also have the story a bit more in line with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and the "friend making" will be as in depth as Persona's social links. This idea always swirled around my head, but I never did anything about it, so... Either way, thanks for this video!

PokePark was a real place, opened in 2005 in Japan. It was open for less than a year. They released special edition pokemon cards for people who showed up on the first day. I have all of them in PSA 10. Hoping they will be worth a fortune one day :P

You missed a HUGE plot point about Poképark 2: the Dark Vortex. And while I _guess_ it wouldn’t have changed much, I do think it deserves to be talked about, as yours truly has played, beaten, and still owns both games as childhood favorites. Because you see, all the kidnapping and brainwashing the Wish Park Crew is doing is throwing the balance of the two worlds off so much its literally summoning a black hole in the skies above both parks that threatens to swallow them up _-in a similar fashion to the fųckıng wither storm from Minecraft Story Mode I'm sorry my shıtfųcked brain demanded I went there--_ And at the end while everything's falling apart you gotta put a thing in the other thing and save the world. Yes that was a Lego Movie reference. Im all over the place right now. But you never actually get to be the one to do it. The game's main villain actually does a moral 180° and carries that glowy blue ball straight up into the vortex And then the post-game mini-plot has you save him??? Like your Pals just up and decide "Aight we're looking for Darkrai now" Which uh... I mean...... Ok? You get to see Reuniclus and the Forces of Nature microwave fųckin idk, unobtainium??????? The game doesnt say what the Deep Black Orb is made of- But the thing about the Dark Vortex is Is that from the momemt it first appears to the moment you beat the game It's just There Looming Ever-present in the skies. Growing and getting stronger as you progress. Idk why I don't remember being creeped out by it-

These games were made by the same company that made the Pokémon Ranger trilogy and have also made Detective Pikachu. Between Detective Pikachu’s incredibly complex development schedule for both games, their job working on the 3D Pokémon models for the main series, and the fact that the follow up Wii U console was a massive bust… yeah, the lack of a third game doesn’t surprise me. And what’s even more sad about that is that this is still a better conclusion than the Rumble series got… seriously, that company isn’t even around anymore.

I think if they were to revisit the concept it would be overhauled dramatically. It's been over a decade now, which- yeah, all of us who liked the game as nine year olds are no longer the target demographic and that same age group mostly weren't even alive back then. Even ignoring how many new Pokemon have been added since Gen 5 a large part of the Pokepark games relied on the anime with Ash which recently ended. I don't think that would stop them but if they didn't bother to pull something together for the Switch for the Gen 8 Pokemon then I highly doubt they'll be revisiting it any time soon. Like, the only one out of this bunch of Pokemon game history to get any spotlight in recent years was the Red/Blue Rescue Team games and that was already three years back. That era of Pokemon spin-offs is just over, it would seem. Nintendo and Gamefreak specifically have been super predictable with the IP since they clocked onto the fact that mobile microtransaction-fests made major bank and their main series titles didn't need full effort to sell stupidly well. Things like this probably won't be making a return anytime soon. It saddens me as the first Pokepark was one of my favourite Pokemon games when I was a kid, it just hit that sweet spot of video game interactivity and Pokemon anime- uhh, vibes, I guess that I was craving to experience. Me and my brother would take turns playing it for hours on end, restarting it once we finished it all the way through just to try it all again. pokepark 2 creeped me out a bit, ngl. its a bit jarring compared to the first one, you dont expect things to go that direction after playing the first.

Oh my god. I rented the second one from my local video game rental store (when those were a thing ig lol) when I was little and immediately fell in love. I beggedddd my parents to let me get the game and they ended up buying the copy off the store. I also rented their version of the 1st pokepark quite a lot (eventually I had to be the only one renting that game I swear) and the disk totally broke-! It would crash after trying to complete the cave area. It was so frustrating it’s burned into my brain forever lol!! (P.s the wish park themes are crazy good-! They sound so sinister it’s crazy. So nostalgic for me ^^!!)

I played 2 in 2016, I’m much younger so I never got to play the first or second game on release so I just have 2 and I modded my Wii to play 1. Also because this was my favorite Pokémon game and my first Pokémon game at the time, Darkrai became my favorite Pokémon thanks to this game and I was invested in the story.

My family actually only got a Wii U just for that game (at least i only wanted it for Pokepark 2 cuz dad couldnt find a good emulator for it, he actually found a good emulator for the 1st one tho and i completed it on PC) We discovered some okay games on the Wii U tho so it ended up being not just for my spoiled little ass. I really enjoyed these games tho, and i discovered them a lot later than when they came out as you can notice by the fact we got a Wii U and not just a Wii, i personally agree with this video, i loved Pokepark games and WISH there were more but i understand that they just werent popular enough.

I let's played both Games to 100% a few years ago and i think especially the 2. Game has a great story (for a Pokemon Game) It's sad, that it was more like a "we make a Wii Pokemon Game" thing and nothing more. At least they didn't felt like rushed. In fact i think there was more love making the Game involved and enough time to do so. (giving every Pokemon a personality) And don't forget it's one of every few Pokemon Games, where they actually voicing there names (like Pokemon Snap)

The second you see "Fantendo," it means it's literally fanfiction. So no, there was never a canceled PokePark 3, not the one you mentioned in the video nor the 'Secrets of the Dream Park" another commenter mentioned. Also, I don't buy the "too many releases" argument. All of the games are very different from each other in gameplay. Maybe casual fans have a different view, but I don't think Conquest (my beloved) or Dream Radar (which is barely a game, as someone who played it) had any effect. Maybe Rumble Blast, but that's a different platform. Just my thoughts.

Pokepark 1 is waaaay better than 2 anyway, interesting that’s how you were introduced to it. I loved pokepark 1 a ton, super underrated.

I watched a let's play of both of these games, and yeesh! Talk about gut wrenchingly boring games. I think we should get a 3rd just because there's no harm in a little dinky azz game, but I could never play these. Glad ya like em Didn't realize this was a small channel.
