One of those men was a nurse. His license needs to be stripped regardless of any trial. My correctional nurses defer to CO's in cases of security but this was not that. This was a patient in his care who was being abused.

My friend Michael “Boo” Moore was beaten so bad by guards in Pikeville KY it caused severe interinternal bleeding. He was then thrown into his cell with such force by one of them that he landed on the corner of the toilet/sink combo. His rib was broken and his lungs were punctured by the bone splinters. He laid in his cell begging for help until he passed away horribly. The guards were seen laughing and flexing their arms in cctv footage. His family, the ones that left him homeless, sued the state. They were awarded 25million dollars. Michael Moore was there on a public intoxication charge and to be released the next morning on an OR Bond. He was a military veteran that developed a drug problem with the medications that the VA gave him every month. The guards that beat him are now in prison. The news stories about him can still be found online.

In case you're wondering about the body cam audio, it's because they didn't activate their body cams at all, they only got recorded because the body cams are in a Standby mode that will record about 30 minute loop of video, just in case something happens to the cop like he's suddenly incapacitated, and he doesn't get a chance to activate it.

As a once visitor of the prison system, I can tell you this happens everyday and only when someone passes do they all the sudden want to investigate it and only recently BECAUSE OF THE VIDEO where they held accountable its too easy for a cop to say oh he jumped at me. The officers boss was the main one engaged just like it is on every law enforcement agency in the us this was and is a major power trip of entitlement. There trained that way Why else do we continue to see this across the world. If theirs is so called accountability then why weren't they arrested immediately as any member of any job of the public would be arrested immediately and charged with pages of charges and multiple felonies for the same crime. But watch only these cops will pay because of the video changes wont be made.

Theses people are human beings they are in there to do there time for whatever they did. It is not for these guards to decide to end his life. As far as them stuffing something down his throat that was to try to keep him from yelling for help. Yea, I explained this in my own comment under this video. I recently came home after serving 10 years in NYS DOCCS, so I know how all their policies work and how things are in there. The cameras only record audio when a CO actually turns it on. All other times, they passively record visual, but self-delete every 24 hours if no major incidents occured. This is because it would allegedly take too much data storage to keep all footage, from all cameras, from every day, audio and visual. They likely didn't expect him to pass away, so they weren't worried about the passive recordings being seen, as they would delete the next day. A beating like that doesn't attract any attention unless the person dies. If they had known he wouldn't make it, they would have removed their cameras ahead of time and made up an excuse as to why they "fell off" their shirts.

So I read somewhere that in a jail I won't name, if you were a difficult prisoner they would get several guards into the cell and pose as if it's a disciplinary beating. But just wouldn't stop till that prisoner is gone. Basically the guards way of making their jobs easier... I am sure this and other massive violations have gone on behind closed doors for years!
@JadusMoltriel
@JadusMoltriel Ай бұрын
There's no such thing as a "disciplinary" beating. ANY beating is unconstitutional and illegal. Officers are directly prohidpbited from ever inflicting corporeal punishment as a form of discipline. If they call it a "disciplinary beating", that's just a term they made up to nickname what they do to abuse and harrass incarcerated people, but it would always be illegal no matter what. The sad thing is, it happens all the time. If all CO's were held accountable for any crimes they might have commited in prisons during their jobs, more than 90% of officers would be sent to prison for LONG sentences. The good and decent officers make up a very, VERY small minority in there, and even amongst those, even fewer will speak up or report extreme abuses.

I spoke with an old associate who served 27 years in some of NY prisons. He’s been to Attica, Danemora, Sing Sing, etc. He told me that Marcy prison is a medium security prison and it was classified as a “Bug prison.” A bug means a prison which houses inmates with mental health and behavioral issues. Yesterday I read a comment from a nurse who had worked in that prison before and she said she transferred after 2 months cause she saw many beatings from officers in there and couldn’t take seeing those things. She also said she was in the Utica hospital when inmate Brooks was brought in and she asked 1 of the C.O.’s who had brought Brooks in and the officer said, “Brooks got beaten by another inmate, and laughed. Everyone in the comments was encouraging her to contact the prosecutors office. I’m gonna find the link to the comments and will post the link.

Thanks for sharing this. Yep, there's a psych facility across the street from the prison, so... makes sense. What doesn't make sense is to have these prisons in these tiny unsophisticated towns, with the smallminded types that reside in those places (I grew up in one, more eastward in NYS than here). Then this is what we can expect. Sure, it's for jobs. NIMBY: no one wants a prison in their neighborhood. So, once again, the well-off are in their little bubbles while the working class "gets these wonderful jobs". Before this happened I read an article where the NYS inmates prefer to be sent to NYC or other bigger cities. They said, the smaller the town, the less diversity and more... problems. Btw, YT won't let us post links. I'd love to see that but... haha. Lotta tongue-biting here.
