What Happened To R&B Singer Lloyd? | Beef With Irv Gotti, Feeling Lost & Becoming a Father

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Lloyd Polite Jr., professional known as simply Lloyd, was blessed with the gift of singing curtesy of his musically inclined father. Sadly, he never got a chance to know his father since he passed away in New Orleans when Lloyd was just 2 years old. Lloyd, as well as his family, believe that his death was due to homicide despite the official autopsy report ruling it as a suicide. To cope and recover from the devastating loss, his mother packed him and his older sister up and moved to Georgia. Lloyd’s mother and her new beau added three more boys to the family creating a full house that Lloyd took advantage of to show off his vocal talent. From a very young age, he was all about music and doing what was necessary to pave the way to a career in the field with professional headshots, resumes and going on countless auditions. He cites Michael Jackson as the single most influential artist in his life clearly evident in how much he loved to imitate the King of Pop in his performances during his formative years.

This is why artists need to be very careful with the different record labels they sign with because they are just sharks seeking whom they may devour especially those that you think that have your best interest in mind. The cheek that pretended she was helping you trying to get you started and had your best interest at hand she was wrong for what she did real friends don't do that. She saw that your were making money and she got greedy. Never make a deal without a lawyer by your side and always follow your first mind you should've stuck with L.A. Reid. Interesting... Lloyd Polite Jr. I don't think I've ever heard an N-Toon record. I decided to pause the video and go preview the band's music and...well... I'm not really feelin' it. I've gone on record a number of times expressing my displeasure for R&B of the aughts. Nah, when I first heard Lloyd's debut, I thought he had a beautiful voice. Homeboy got some range on him, yo. It's the material that didn't pull me in. By that period, I was grown and had other things on my mind. Perhaps one day I'll go back and preview his LPs. I'm simply not in the mood right nah. Anyway, for that period, Lloyd Polite Jr. and Mario Barrett were the best, vocally. Too bad it didn't work out for Lloyd though. Of course Irv Gotti got hella emotional and started doin' too much. Look, artists ain't got no time to be waiting around all on account of being "loyal." Murder Inc. was crumbling so what was he supposed to do? He knows that this industry discards artists like yesterday's news so you gotta get it while the gettin' is good. One thing about Lloyd though, his mic is always on and he sounds bomb live.
