It's also extra-useful advice for novice fishkeepers, not to mention reassuring for us fellow Canadians, as antibiotics are now unavailable, save via vet prescription. (And Joey's the closest thing to a fish vet I've got--both figuratively, and literally, at 3 hours drive lol).

Man those lenses makes your tanks look so small, its probably why all the fuss about tank size ... people seems to forget how big an 8 feet tank is until you walk next to one inside a house to get the better perspective than what you see at the lfs or a zoo lol. On the build footage you added we can clearly see the immense size of that tank because you look so small next to it ;) keep on Joey, still enjoy all your videos :)

Hey joey, glad your arowana is well, but I did notice something that might help this slime coating problem in the future. I noticed the towel you used was dry, it helps when the towel is damp with tank water. Stops the fish from drying out. Big fan and love your videos 👍

I’m so enjoying this series and I am learning so much from this because before I got into your channel, I never really heard of Asian Arrawana’s but you’ve taught me so much and hopefully one day, I may even be lucky enough to keep one with full confidence and from the knowledge that you teach me. 😉

The scaping in that tank looks amazing, it's your nicest tank I've seen since I watching your channel. Also I agree that he wont bother the Tetra's. He'd have to be starving or one would have to swim in his mouth. Otherwise him going after one of them would be like you or I running after a grain of rice with a full stomach when we know there's Chinese food for dinner later.

Tbh walking into a room with a giant fish tank with a huge fish like that would be awesome, but walking up to it and realizing there’s schools of tiny fish in with it would be cooler than just having so many it’s obvious. Just a really beautiful detail I think you should keep it like this.

So when you did the operation, You wrapped him in a dry fluffy towel, of course this absorbs all the moisture within his slime coat and wipes it off. When we go fishing for common and mirror carp, large scaled slime coated fish. We handle them with cold, wet towels, particularly in warm environments, and only when we have to, If it is a particularly difficult hook to remove.

I used to have a silver arowana and his best friend was a diamond gourami. It was supposed to be food but after eating the female gourami the arowana was never interested in the male gourami, and the gourami felt save from the other big cichlids when he was near the arowana and so they kept swimming together for about three years.

Adi Mamidyala ya basically taking that slime coat off which helps them fight against different harmful fungus, bacteria, parasites, whatever can get in there. People forget our hands secrete a pretty acidic oil, pretty much burning the fish if dry.
