Thanks Evelyn. Henry the 8th is the author of this problem and others. I always wondered why he would allow the bones of his own ancestors to be disturbed, exposed to the elements, or destroyed. Seems to be a kind of insanity. Why not just leave his ancestors and predecessors where they were. I've always been interested in archeology, but when it comes to the remains of people they should be treated with respect and placed where they belong.

The kings that were lost surprise me. This wasn’t the only one. The next video will surprise you as well. The saints tombs that were opened and destroyed was part of him wanting to destroy pope-ishness, idolatry, and abuses of the church. But if we’re really being honest…a huge reason was for the money he got from it to fund a war.

Very unlikely to have been a descendant of Alfred and even in our own time no member of the present Royal Family offered to help identify the remains of Richard III

If you are decended from Alfred than you should go in and have your DNA TAKEN and analyzed against that hip bone, if they have the DNA Familial markers then they can conclusively say that they have a match and that the hip bone is most likely his.😊

My name is Alfred, so I've always been interested in Alfred the Great. I live in the States, and my grandparents all came from Italy. However, it is said that our ancestors came to Italy from England. So, who knows where the name Alfred came into the family. I was named after my father, whose name is Alfred. Thank you, Miss Edwards, for a very fine historical lesson!

Very good storytelling. I was surprised to hear about this. When I visited WInchester Cathedral I was even more shocked to learn that during the Civil War the Parliament troops wrecked the place and scattered the bones of King Cnut, Queen Emma and others. They have got caskets containing their bones on display there now, but they're not 100% sure that the contents are as advertised.
