Good story this channel has awesome vibes.imagine living in a rime when you could just build a castle.i realsie it's not as simple as that imagine doing this today the government would breakdown crying 😮
@EvelynEdwards6 сағат бұрын
Thank you so much!! Even if this time period you had to ask for permission to build a castle. It was called a “license to crenellate”. If you didn’t get one you were fined, possibly imprisoned, and you could have your structure confiscated by the crown. 😉

She was his best queen, by far. She saved his throne with the Battle of Flodden( while he was losing an inconsequential "war" in France. It is known that she had between 6 & 10 children with him. A son lived but a few weeks, & the only one to make it to adulthood was a daughter. For this she was blamed & pushed aside. She stilbirthed a baby boy who was 8 months along because of Flodden. Had she stayed back & taken the precautions for her son rather than saving her husband's throne( while he was out looking for glory), how differently her fate would have been.

If I visited that castle now that I know her story I think I would feel bound to 'talk' to Alena hoping she could hear me ! Not a ghost I would be fearful of! What a very sad business, she did not deserve, but in the end at least she had a few years of happiness & freedom. Rest easy Alena!

Robert the Bruce is one of my favorite. So sad that they destroyed the royal graves. Very disgraceful! The remains of so many historical people lost. I'm glad they found a body believed to be Robert and gave the man a respectable grave again.

@EvelynEdwards3 күн бұрын
Many royals had their visceral (heart, entrails) buried in different places. The idea was you would have more people in different places praying for your soul.
@raraavis77823 күн бұрын
@@EvelynEdwards How interesting. I knew, bones were often taken as relics after the fact. But I hadn't heard of people deliberately partitioning their bodies like that. I also would have expected the Catholic church to not be on board with the whole 'desecration of a corpse' thingy. Wasn't that the reason, why they objected to opening up corpses for scientific research?

@stevenleppard1072 history is part of our country, good or bad. And history will repeat itself if we forget about it. Buildings, monuments, statues should be left alone as reminders. Even the bad reminders. We must remember not just the good that has happened. I live in the states where idiots pulled down statues that hurt their feelings. Lincolns statue was painted on. A church was burned down. And why??? People can be so illogical!!!

If she had agreed to the divorce so many things would have been better for the UK people. I believe that the bloody Mary saga would not have existed because Mary would have been brought up outside of the Catholic church and its teachings.
@EvelynEdwards3 күн бұрын
Ohhh no. That wouldn’t have happened. Mary very much would have stayed Catholic. She was already 17/18 years old when Henry married Anne. Henry did divorce Katherine. He just did it by declaring it himself instead of the pope doing it. Katherine didn’t divorce Henry partially to save Mary’s birthright.
