Pteranadons or Velociraptors seem like the only 2 plausible explanations. Some people think Compys did it but they aren’t the type to rip an arm off.

I actually agree at 2:11 it's either 1 velociraptor or few other raptors as most likely. Main reasoning is because there's a scene in Jurassic Park 1 involving one of the women trying to start up the electric power. When she got it back up, she was excited, was backing up to some wall, and an arm fell onto her. It was one of the arms of some other guy who got killed by a velociraptor. Fast forwards to the captain's room, a missing hand clenching that wheel, how it looks, has velociraptor makings just like in that Jurassic Park 1 scene. Of course we got to somehow explain how the raptors disappeared after killing off the crew. Pteranodons is interesting, lesser in probability than raptors, they are capable of attacking, killing, and flying off which may explain the lack of other dinosaurs and a means to enter and leave the ship...except now we have to somehow explain how a Pteranodon is able to fit into the captain's bridge, plus we never saw if a Pteranodon is capable of mutilating and leaving messy wounds on the remains of the limbs, which again has the hallmarks of raptor attacks, we never saw even in the Jurassic Park 3 how Pteranodons killed prey or sever limbs like that. I like the Spinosaurus as a candidate, but obviously not adult maybe a juvenile or younger Spinosaurus(again this dinosaur has to be big enough to be a threat, and small enough to fit into that captain's bridge), yet it's the least likely even a juvenile Spinosaurus ain't fitting into, again, the captain's bridge, and while it has the morphology and teeth to sever limbs, I don't think it's the one that killed the captain, but it could've done rest of the crew. So once again we're back to square 1, and we must revisit the crime scene, and look scene by scene of that Jurrasic Park 2 ship. If my memory is correct, I saw the captain's hand, severed, still grasping onto the wheel in rigor mortis(which sets in as stiffening of the joints and limbs after death, starting after a few hours and lasts between 1 to 4 days). We then see later a scene of the other guy holding the controller for the door containing the T-Rex, unfortunately boxes are in the way for us to clearly see how the guy died(Which I feel is a dead giveaway to the attacker. And yes they maybe censoring because of gore, but I think it actually gives us that necessary clue as to what dinosaur killed the guy.)also rigor mortis as well because the cop had to forcefully pry his fingers away which tells me the death isn't recent, it could've been weeks plus given the cold weather may add to the stiffness. So in conclusion, we need more evidence and to view the scenes more again. My feeling is that it had to involve a pack of raptors at some point, and maybe a Juvenile or younger Spinosaurus

It was the Rex that killed the crew. In the storyboard for The Lost World, we see a huge hole behind the bridge of the SS Venture (explanation for the hand on the wheel). The set designers of the film did a half-assed job on creating the destruction as illustrated on the storyboard sketch. But then again, Spielberg didn't want the viewers to see the obvious for the thrill factor, although it was executed so poorly, it just made fans of the film come up with numerous theories as to what killed the ship's crew. On deck, we see the cage where the Rex was contained in Isla Sorna destroyed. The Rex woke up from its slumber and the crew tried their best to keep it restrained, even using an excavator to hold the creature's head down. This only angered the Rex, which broke free from the cage and started picking off the crew. As to why it ended up on the cargo hold, many speculators say a crew trying to find a place to hide ran into the hold, luring the Rex into it. A wounded crew member went to the control panel and closed the cargo doors before succumbing to his wounds. I also have a theory why it couldn't be raptors or any other dinosaurs that killed the crew. Simply put, the SS Venture never docked anywhere near the island for anything unwanted to get in. Worrying for their safety after hearing the stories of fishermen disappearing in the island chain aptly called "The Five Deaths", they decided to wait in open water until the helicopters delivered the Rex cage aboard before setting sail. Remember that the InGen hunters entered Sorna via helicopters, not by amphibious landing. I figure helicopters would also be their way of exit out of the Island. Thus, the raptors or other dinos sneaking aboard the ship isn't plausible in my opinion.

I've heard about that storyboard too. Unfortunately, the dismembered hand still gripping the wheel inside an undamaged cabin just doesn't make sense.

@@andrewsmallacombe9468 Yeah, the rex did that too. Spielberg just didn't want it to be obvious for the viewers to get that "what did this" reaction like the character in the movies had. Unfortunately it was done so poorly that it made viewers just question the scene more than to end up in the same conclusion.

I disagree, if it was the "Daddy" rex a.k.a. "Buck" then there wouldn't be anymore bodies left, and there wouldn't be any pieces of those bodies left either.

@jefferykelsey Жыл бұрын
@@andrewsmallacombe9468 That's Pteranodons for ya, and it was indeed the Pteranodons that killed the crew and left their bodies in pieces, and that dismembered or shall I say chopped hand gripping the wheel inside the undamaged cabin is proof if it, I mean have you seen how well the hand's been chopped off, and look at the beak of the Pteranodon at the end of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, its beak is as sharp as an axe, totally capable of chopping a person's arm off, does that make sense to you?
@danielnelson3136
@danielnelson3136 4 күн бұрын
@@jefferykelsey No it doesn't make sense a Pteranodon did it. Firstly you have to account for the size of the Pteranodon, is it small enough to fit through a door into the captain's bridge to kill the captain? No, and second the morphology and shape of the Pteranodon, in movie and in the fossil record, it's beak lacks serrated teeth which allows the tearing of limbs like that. It 'looking' sharp is the same asinine logic that flat earthers use to justify a flat earth because a canal 'looks flat' to be curved, a Pteranodon's beak is too straight and pointy to be 'slicing' or 'ripping' a limb like that.

I think it was a pack of raptors and the reason why there were no raptors on the boat, they were trapped by the last crew member probably dropped them in the ocean but got mortally injured in the process or they used themselves as bait so they could both get eaten by sharks.
@brandonwalker5057

I think they were killed by a Pteranodons. The S.S. boat crew members sailed to an accidental Pteranodons' nets; the Pteranodons spotted the boat full of crew members and then killed them all with there beaks, chopping them into tiny pieces, and then fly away.

I mean why not? In the lost world ending had a pteranodon free and flying around so there's probably more out in about then the 3rd movie

You're right Brandon, and the hand hanging on the ship's steering wheel is proof of it because it's been chopped off of its owner.

In the book it was established that compys were stowing away on ships. When I first saw the movie I thought about that plot point…

In the book its shown that the compys are venomous to a degree with their venom having a narcotic effect that causes the victim (atleast in humans) to for the most part stay there and get mauled. and a ship of that size could likely have dozens of compys on board without the crew knowing.

The theory of Raptors on board the S.S. Venture (named after the boat in the 1933 film, King Kong, by the way) is probably the most popular theory of them all. Indeed, it makes the most sense. But, because of my very strong love and obsession with the Raptors, I really can't put any blame on them anymore. #TeamRaptor #ObsessedRaptorFanatic Neither of the other two theories adds up, especially concerning the Spinosaurus. An animal of that size, even if it existed during the events of The Lost World: Jurassic Park, wouldn't be able to kill all of the crew, particularly those in small sections of the boat, without there being catastrophic damage to the hull. And, how would Pteranodons be able to reach in and grab the crew in that small space shown in the wheelhouse? Granted, the Pteranodons in TLW are smaller than those in Jurassic Park III, but I don't think they would even bother to attack a ship's crew like that. They probably hunted for fish and other small animals. Otherwise, all vessels out at sea would be in danger of attacking Pteranodons from Isla Sorna. Since I took the blame away from the Raptors, I have to think of another species that may have killed the crew on the ship. It has to be something small enough to fit in tight places, yet big enough to cause that much carnage on board. It can't be the Compies, either, because they would have left "the parts they didn't like" behind. They wouldn't have been strong enough to dismember anyone since their teeth could never cut through bone. So, it's back to the drawing board.

I really do think it was the Rex. Because there's no indication that any other dino made it onboard. We never see the full extent of the damage and its likely that the Rex didnt kill the entire crew. A lot of them probably jumped ship prefering to take their chances in the sea. Obviously the helmsman died, and there was another man dead with the cargo door controls in his hand. Indicating that the rex either chased someone down there or was possibly lured there, and this man was mortally wounded before he succeeded in trapping it. That's all there is to it.

I disagree for there's a flaw with that theory, the flaw is if it were the Rex that did this then there wouldn't be anymore bodies left and thus there wouldn't be anymore pieces of the bodies at all. And yet there are still bodies all of them in pieces, with the dismembered hand clinging on the wheel of the undamaged cabin being proof that it was the Pteranodons that killed the crew, have you ever saw how well the hand's been chopped off, and then look at the beak of the Pteranodon at the end of The Lost World: Jurassic Park as it opens its beak and screeches and notice how sharp it is like that of an axe, definitely capable of chopping a man's hand clean off.

Raptors killed the crew, Spinosaurus got curious and maybe grabbed a raptor. The rest of the pack jumped off the boat to attack the predator that ate their pack mate. Poof. The reason why there are no dinosaurs (other than Rexy) and no surviving crew hiding in any part of the ship.

I think I will go with the first Theory that Rapters killed the Crew and I guess They may have Smelled another Dino on board and so they went down into the Cargohold as the Doors were Continuing Opening and Closing and the Rapters gotten eaten by the T Rex and that is why they were not Found onboard.

Here's the problem with Theory 1: Isn't Isla Sorna, like, hundreds of miles from San Diego? Going full throttle, the ship would've run out of gas long before it reached the coast, at least at full speed.

I’m currently watching my favourite film in the franchise the lost world There’s no way the T-Rex killed the crew There was a was a hand on the cruise steering wheel And the room was clearly intact No way for the massive T-Rex to get in and kill that crewmember member When I was younger, I always thought it was a velociraptor Plus the T-Rex was clearly inside the cargo ship What did the T-Rex lock itself back into the cargo department 😂 after killing the crew After doing some research, there was a lot of deleted scenes Now that I’m older, I found it very strange as soon as they captured the T-Rex the next scene is the cargo ship crashing into the docs They had to be a deleted scene in between that happened Way too rushed Pteranadons is possible too As I don’t think the velociraptors would’ve took a dip in the ocean 😂
